We couldn’t be happier with the Python coding course at Funtech. My son has absolutely loved it from start to finish. Every break, he’s been bouncing out full of excitement, and at the end of each day he’s genuinely been sad that it was over - which says a lot, especially given the hours are longer than a typical school day!
What’s really stood out is how engaged he’s been. He’s loved all of the projects and has been so motivated to keep going that I’ve actually had to drag him out for walks just to get him off his screen - otherwise he’d happily spend the whole evening continuing what he started in class.
Not only has he had a fantastic time, but he’s clearly learnt a huge amount too. His confidence has grown, and he’s been excited to talk through what he’s built and how it works.
A special mention to his tutor, Hope, who was exceptional - clearly inspiring, supportive, and brilliant at keeping the students engaged throughout.
A brilliant course that manages to be both educational and genuinely fun, highly recommend and he is excited for the next two, we wish he could do the next one in May and not wait until August!

I have been a customer with FunTech since 2020 starting out with their virtual camps during the pandemic. The quality was second to none and had my two eldest boys engaged for hours on end despite their young ages at the time.
We subsequently enrolled them on to their term-time product where they have been steadily progressing through their learning pathway. We have always found FunTech's approach to be thorough with a clear focus on making sure our kids understand topics thoroughly. If they were ever struggling then extra sessions were offered ensuring that they never got overwhelmed.
The foundation that FunTech has provided is perfect for our our eldest boy who is now taking a GCSE in computer science at school and in his words "making it a breeze".
Our youngest twins are now getting to the age where they are ready to start their journey and we'd recommend FunTech to anyone.

hi team,
I dont have much first hand experience of the course (!), but I asked my son and he said he enjoyed it. He said his teacher was great. He is Year 9 and he said the content was too easy, slow pace, but I think in reality it was the right starting point for him and a good space to jump in (as well as what he covers in school). We intend to put him into the advanced course some time later this year.
Thanks very much.

Good tutors but accounting team is a headache for busy parents

I have been in Funtech for 4 years and I haven't had any problems. It is expensive but it is worth it.

My kid Daniel had the best experience ever, he is autistic and was really anxious about the course but everything went amazing he liked it so much and teachers are absolutely fabulous, friendly and helpful- the real professionals 🙏🙏❤️ We went for Python 1 week class for beginners and during this week my son programmed 3 games in this language a very big achievement in my view!!! Absolutely recommend their classes💯%

This company used to be excellent, excellent admin, tutors and lucaz was amazing. I don’t know if management has changed but they just don’t seem to care about loyal customers. I have been trying to book some missed sessions But seem to leave message upon message with no response. I find it incredibly frustrating as we have done a few term time courses. Having written this review the owner called me and apologised which was great to finally get the personal touch. She will investigate how I fell through the net, and kindly refunded the catch up lessons which was above what I expected so thank you.
My son has benefitted greatly from his FunTech courses, and his teachers have also recognised this when working on his projects at school. Learning from home with the Virtual Lab is so easy. He sign's in each week and is engaged for the entire lesson, learning and laughing along the way. The tutors and staff always bend over backwards to help, they recognise and give additional support when needed. I'm extremely happy with FunTech and looking forward seeing what he will achieve with them next!
Thank you FunTech!

Awful administration. We paid for extra lessons so he could join the course part way through the year, the lessons login regularly didn't appear in the portal so we were always chasing him, he was supposed to get the same tutor every time - he didn't. I was going to enrol him on this years course, but there was an extra £300 added to the bill, i went through their awful online portal to try and remove it but you were through the logon process with the £300 plus a £50 enrolment fee. I don't have time to be constantly chasing them for their poor administration so I cancelled the course. They are still emailing me with the wrong amount for the course saying they are going to take payment by direct debit, for a new incorrect amount, despite having cancelled once already. The lessons are only 50 minutes, they often don't start on time as they're waiting for the other kids to join, but they finish bang on or earlier than the 50 mins allocated. The instructors are nice enough, but everything about the service and the administration is tedious and unacceptable.
My son also did a minecraft course which was ok, there were a lot of technical problems despite having done the technical set up beforehand and in the end he had to switch onto my husbands machine at work to do it.
** Re your reply of 28.09 My son did not do lessons for the year, he only did them for a term, so three lessons out of a term is still not a good rate. To say all the lessons started on time is a lie, I was sat next to ted one day when they were all waiting for 10 minutes for the other children to arrive. The lesson finished bang on time, despite being 40 minutes long. This is another example of your poor administration and communication. I note you've failed to address my other points, in particular the login that we had to chase regularly because there wasn't a lesson to log into. It was no glitch, it was sloppy, poor administration and relied on the parents chasing you on phone and message to get access the lessons we'd paid for. Everything about your portal is poor, you can't even change "optional extras", it simply confirms your booking without giving you the option to change or decline it.

This is the first time we have used Funtech having enrolled our 7 year old daughter on a week long Roblox Designer course. We were slightly apprehensive at first, however our daughter had an absolutely fantastic week. She learnt lots of new skills whilst also having had fun and making new friends. She’s already requested to attend the Minecraft Camp next year. Highly recommended.

So, my son did the Summer Roblox camp course. The staff and tutors were nice we learn't a lot about Roblox studio but I think they lacked the lua part of it.(Roblox coding language.) we didn't even learn one of the most basic parts functions! I left a good review on their website for the effort but impart from that it would of been much better if they had more lua.

I wrote a negative review on a company and the company responded in a non customer friendly manner. Shows you what scum bag companies are out there. The employees are not at fault, the company owners are. Whoever responded turned my complaint around and blamed me. Never received the contract or sighted a contract with terms and conditions. Never deal with Funtech again. This review pertains to Funtech not Trustpilot.

I don't really relate to the few negative reviews, as it hasn't been our experience.
I was a student back when they first started up until 2003. I completed a GCSE with an A grade, and obtained advanced knowledge through other courses that really helped me stand out amongst my colleague in my workplace. I am now a parent of a student that attends. I completely trust them with my daughters education, so much so that she is going to do her GCSE with them rather than at her Grammar School. She reported to me that the teaching was so much more thorough. She has just done a fast track course and has finished the Python Coder virtual summer camp. She was always good at Scratch but she previously never had the confidence to use Python at home. After a 2 week course she is now writing 500+ lines of code with ease, and enjoys creating complicated Telltale style text-based adventure games. They have also been fabulous with my daughter's SENs.
I would advise to give Funtech a chance and try a serious computing course. I'd also advise to complete an initial assessment, to check the course you're considering is right for your child's abilities at their current age.
Thank you for being a great constant for my child during these unstable Covid times.

I was very surprised to read some of the poor reviews here as both mine and my sons experience with FunTech has always been a very positive and rewarding one. My son started attending a Funtech when he was 9. He went to a Summer Camp (non residential) and absolutely loved every minute of it. Over the years he attended lots of different courses and eventually ended up studying for his A level computing with FunTech at the age of 15. My son had a few different teachers at a Funtech and they were all good but the one who sticks in my mind is Priyam. She genuinely cared about my son and wanted him to do well. He loved working with her. She kept me informed every step of the way (ie when he didn’t hand in homework etc) She was just amazing! My son had a few challenges growing up and was quite unwell sometimes, but FunTech were very flexible with him and made sure that he reached his full potential. The owner of Funtech is a lovely lady called Shen. She went above and beyond for my son. He found her easy to talk to and really trusted her. My son still meets her for a catch up sometimes and will always regard her highly as will I. What more can I say!

I agree with all the other poor reviews. Kept my child safe but that was about it. The tutors were ill equipped to look after children and didn't seem to have had much training - the show and tell at the end of the Roblox course was pathetic... my daughter had lost all her work when the computer crashed so she had nothing to show except a very basic course. No log-in sent to help her continue her progress after the course as promised but they tried to flog us an expensive add-on and the next week (yes we were foolish enough to sign up for two before we knew how bad they were!), the tutor attempted a reward chart system to help control the kids which backfired badly and just ended de-motivating them. The FunTyper course was better and to be fair she liked going to both (mainly so she could play games in Roblox rather than learn to code it!) but given the extortionate cost of the course, the organisation generally was atrocious, the tutors were lacking enthusiasm, the servers kept crashing, and we personally won't be considering them again in future. Really really unimpressed overall. Like others have said, they're just a money spinner... we had much better experiences with CodeCamp at a fraction of the price and the only reason we ended up with these courses was location. If you want value for money and for your kids to actually learn something rather than just be kept safe, I would avoid these courses like the plague if you have other options.

My 2 children (10 and 9) have just been on the Roblox course. The two positive things were that the kids were safe and it was near my work. The quality of the course was awful- it was very disorganised and my children just played games all the time as the tutors (apparently on their mobiles all the time) were not interested and also did not know anything about Roblox. If you are looking for a coding holiday club, I suggest you use FireTech instead where we have always had good experiences.

Started with good expectations . But have removed child now. No home work for week given. No course material. Relies to child to remember thinks taught only for the 1hr online. As a parent we cannot help on weekly basis. Very expensive. Did a session during half term. Waste of money and time. As there is no follow up of solidification of concept.
