I’m an alumni and thought I’d go for my masters. The quality of education is not good. One instructor was an Etsy shop owner and another runs a sports fan instagram account with about 400 followers. You will not learn from industry professionals like they claim. In fact the false claims and promises run rampant with this school. You can learn more from YouTube. Save yourself the debt and trouble.

Fraudulent grading practices, they just want money.

In the Game design program they will pass on line students just to help their numbers and keep collecting tuition.

You cannot tell me otherwise. When in month 16 of a 22 month program, there are students that cannot code in blueprints, OR MOVE A BLOCK IN UNREAL ENGINE that you are not fraudulently passing online students just to keep pushing them through.

They are wrong for forcing a quality student to work in graded group assignments with slackers that don't know any code. Their curriculum is all over the place. A lot of things they should be teaching much sooner.

When voicing this to full sail discord spaces, I was shut down ostracized by their cult like behavior among faculty and students. Also 2 TA's had stalked my linkedin profile later that day. Then they brigaded my professional reddit account and got it permanently banned by mass reporting it.

They are not who they claim to be. Just look at all the complaints against this institution, google class actions, google warning letters, accreditation issues.

Their entire classes are full of outdated information instructors never bother to update. They ignore online students constantly and then will talk trash about them to the campus students.

The past 3 months I have been…

The past 3 months I have been attempting to unenroll from Full Sail. At first they were very helpful I talked to a person who told me what the process was like. They told me to wait until the end of the semester so that I would have finished one full semester. I tried to ask about money at this point and what I might owe and I was told that they couldn't tell me that until after the unenrollment and that I would be able to talk to the financial team and I would receive a packet in the mail going over everything.

For the next month I kept going through classes.

This is where my distaste for Full Sail starts.

I confirmed my unenrollment at the beginning of January and they said that they would send me a packet in the mail going over everything and with somethings for me to sign. I didn't think much of it because they said it would take around 45 days to get to me. Finally at the beginning of march all I received was an invoice for $1,702 and a notice saying I would owe $4,000 of subsidized and unsubsidized loans. I was confused as when I confirmed my unenrollment I also asked about the money again and was told that in their system it seemed I would get money back and that the $7,000 I got for the academic year from the Creative Minds Scholarship would be used to help pay for any loans I used.

It is now the end of March and after calling Full Sail once a week for four weeks I finally got a call back from the Business team , who before would call me back within two days, saying that whoever told me that I would receive the scholarship lied to me and that they couldn't help me. I wasn't entitled to the money because I didn't have enough active hours. Basically I have to pay the money and they couldn't tell me how much it was gonna be till after I signed the papers.

I gave them money for a full year of classes and only did one semester. In return I owe them money and only got half of the credits I supposedly payed for. What a waste of money and time. Most of the classes consisted of making posters after reading clips of books from O'Reilly and watching videos on LinkedIn. After a full semester it felt like I had learned nothing more than what my high school guidance counselor told me about goal setting.

Worthless Game Design Program

My son did obtain his degree in "Game Design " in 2021 and hasn't had any assistance with finding a job. He's called and I've even called and emailed Full Sails Graduate assistance and have not received any assistance other than 1 review of his resume'. I was under the impression that they assist in obtaining employment with companies that work with them.

My son feels that he doesn't have the knowledge he needs to obtain even the lowest position within his field.

It's sad that he has a Bachelors Degree and currently works as a night stocker at the local grocery store.

Why I ❤️ Full Sail University

My personal experience and mindset before attending Full Sail was to graduate with a bachelors degree and become successful. I was enrolled in the graphic design online program. After some prior college credits, I was able to finish a little over two years. Early in my first semester, my advisor reminded me that classes moved at an accelerated pace. One class consisted of four weeks. If you were to fall behind any given week, you had to work double time to get back on track. I will never forget how much time was consumed by projects alone. You are supposed to have 20-30 hours a week dedicated to these projects. What students fail to realize before attending this school is the fact that you have to be able to manage your time wisely. Next, in order to even work on these projects, students must know how to use the software like Adobe Creative Suite. If you do not have any experience with this, you will find that you are spending more time trying to learn the program before even tackling such projects. Does Full Sail place you into the entertainment industry after graduation? Honestly, speaking from experience, I would have to say "No." What I do know is that you have to take your newly acquired skills and network. Networking is the key in this type of field or industry. Many of the successful Full Sail alumni are working in the industry because of who they know and the hard work and dedication to work their way up into the current position that they are in. I personally will not trade my experience or time at Full Sail. The period of my life not only taught me the required skills to become a graphic designer but also it gave me life lessons and skills that I was able to transfer over into my job in the healthcare industry.
