Don't believe the back story

Dave Brown paints such a lovely picture of how he founded Frost Optical Services in 2006 as a family run company. The truth is however very different. I had founded Frost Optical in 2001 and ran it as a sole trader but in 2006, I needed to expand very quickly to take advantage of an approach by Specsavers to install their Chinese made instruments. I had known Dave Brown for 17 years and believed he could be trusted as a business partner so I took him under my wing. I invested £500,000 to start Frost Optical Services and then gave 50% of the shares worth £250,000 to Dave Brown and appointed him a director. Dave Brown invested £0 into the company and paid me £0. Unfortunately for me, my absolute trust I put in Dave Brown was betrayed in the most despicable way imaginable. He turned out to be a serial fraudster who by a combination of breach of trust, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, false accounting, fraud, perjury, conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice effectively forced me out of the company then started a bogus litigation against me. As a result of his utter dishonesty, he gained ownership of the entire company for 50 pence. He pleaded poverty due to my actions but within 3 months of the court case, Dave Brown spent the £500,000 he cheated me out of buying himself a massive house. That's the true story of how Frost Optical was founded. Am I bitter after all these years? You bet.
