TL;DR: I signed up for what I believed was a free trial, but was charged for an annual subscription without my clear consent. Attempts to cancel were repeatedly unsuccessful, and further unauthorized payment attempts followed.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS FREE TRIAL.

The subscription appeared to activate during the trial period and began charging me annually. When I requested a refund, I was told it was denied because I had used the account—but isn’t using the account what a free trial is for?

Even after cancelling the recurring subscription, it would revert to “active” within a day or two. The payments were under Stripe but no way to cancel there. Settings takes you to another company Creative Fabrica that handles the accounts. Support there repeatedly assured me that it had been cancelled, only for it to reactivate again.

Eventually, I was told that using the account after cancellation automatically reactivates the subscription. This is an extremely unusual and unacceptable policy, especially when cancellation had already been confirmed, and I had NOT used the account since.

While I was still trying to resolve the issue, two additional charges of $19.99 each were attempted on my card.

Wow.

This is clearly a scam. How is it they're still in business without any legal consequences?

They won't let you logout. They don't let you edit or delete your account. Don't put your card info on this website because they probably won't let you delete that either. They give you 5000 credits when you sign up but nothing works even though you have the credits to pay for the service.

They have a parent company called Creative Fabrica which shares the account so you can access your account details and settings on creativefabrica, but they don't mention that anywhere on their website. I had to check linked apps on my email account to find out. If I signed in with a password, I would have never found the creativefabrica website.

Very deceptive, if not illegal business practice here. They make it impossible to cancel your account. If you use google to link, it'll be under creative fabrica. Go to your linked accounts in google and unlink them, step 1.

This is the email I received from them, no mention of freemode.ai - I expected this charge to fail so this is how I caught them. Step 2, I sent an email to the address they contacted me with to cancel my account and remove my payment method. We'll see how this is handled,

Be warned. Do not put in any credit information. There's no way to remove it and no contact. You have no formal account. Just a subscription button and once it has your number it's locked in.
