I recommend Fred’s review website to any gardener, but especially to anyone gardening with disabilities, inc arthritis etc as he regularly includes ergonomic/accessibility aspects of things which is so often missed from other websites.

I’ve been a fan of for at many many years. He really puts tools etc through their paces for things like useabilty, repairability, longevity.

I always check his recommendations on items before I buy, especially if it’s a pricey purchase.

It’s especially useful in these times where there are so many copycat products of less quality that don’t last. When I follow Fred’s advice I end up with tools that last me years and years and ones that make things possible that disabilty had been hindering.

My most recent purchases were Darlac snappers based on his reviews. I am BESOTTED with them and after buying the mid sized one I ended up also purchasing the small and the large because they were huge game changers for getting to things I couldn’t manage anymore ( the big 5m one for trees is pretty challenging due to its scale and weight, but still much safer than teetering up a ladder).

A year or two back I came across this site and felt it had the ring of truth. I now go there whenever I want helpful advice on what to buy by way of garden tools. Following Fred's advice I have bought all sorts – secateurs, lawn rake, grass trimmer, shears, machete, mower, loppers – and I've been very pleased with my purchase every time.
