In an effort to buy more sustainable clothing, I purchased six of the Gaya t-shirts. Unfortunately, the quality of the material and stitching is not what I was expecting for what was, for me, a large sum of money. I was hoping these would last me for many years.

When they arrived, I noticed on the label that they are manufactured in China. I was worried that this would mean they were poorly made, but I thought I should suspend judgement, since this company claims to have such a strong ethical stance.

Unfortunately, my suspicions about the quality of the material and manufacturing process were correct. After only a few wears, and after taking good care of them (following the instructions on the label exactly), five out of six have developed holes in them.

I emailed Forgotten Tribes on the 22nd July, to request a full refund due to the items not being fit for purpose. I included photographic evidence. My original email and two subsequent emails have been ignored. I subsequently reached out to them on Facebook. Again, I have been met with silence.

As a last ditch attempt, I am writing a review on here, in the hope that someone from the company will finally get back to me. I am appalled at this lack of customer service and can’t help but feel that I’ve been scammed.

The ring I ordered, and the very many pairs of leggings I have ordered in the past, have all been beautiful, and unique! Packaged perfectly, so that it feels very much like a special, thoughtful, bespoke service.

I am so happy with my purchase, they are so comfortable, well made and a lovely fit. The fabric is a gorgeous shade of blue, and i shall look forward to wearing them. ( They are a thicker type of fabric, so in the current heatwave, they are too warm for me now.). There was also good communication from the company regarding delivery dates. This is my first purchase, but it wont be my last. Highly recommend Forgotten Tribes.

Good quality, but less flattering than I’d hoped.

Just discovered my Rokko trousers have a large hole by the back of the waistband. I’ve had them just over a month and I’ve never had trousers wear out for me in this area before. Really disappointed in the quality of these trousers.

Edit with update- Forgotten tribes sent me through a replacement pair of trousers. They have been through the wash and appear to be holding up well. Thanks for the excellent service!
