Scam. No idea how I ended up on a subscription, from an email address I’ve not used for years. From the other comments it appears this is a scam. I got a refund. Block and report this company

I’ve somehow managed to sign up for a subscription unwilling by a scam link taking £0.01 from my bank account then proceeding to try take £29.99 every month from my bank account I’ve contacted foodie hub numerous times and they claim that they can’t find me signed up etc .. absolutely no help I’ve provided them with the bank account ,my email ,showed the transactions and this still hasn’t stopped , ridiculous customer service no help at all

Scam like rest …. Registration for proper Cornwall walking site …. They took a penny 3 days later… £14.99 I agreed to no subscription with them …. And recived no services on phone to Lloyds

I got scammed. Not sure what even happened, but I randomly got a £0.01 payment followed by a £29.90 payment from whoever ‘foodie-hub.co’ even is. Avoid at all costs if even possible. I’m hoping that no more money will be taken out, but I don’t know yet.

Edit: As of 12/11/24 another £29.90 has been removed from my account. Do something about this immediately if it's an issue for you.

1p taken from account but it was returned. Then Santander contacted me & said they had tried to take £29.90 but they stopped it from leaving my account.
Card blocked & new one to be issued.

Total scam. I was looking at flight departures from Manchester when suddenly a payment of one penny was made, I didn’t even put my fingerprint on the phone. Had to talk to my bank for an hour, freeze my account and wait for a new card. Apparently the penny is for a three day trial and £29 monthly thereafter. Annoying.

My wife somehow subscribed to Foodie Hub, she thought she clicked on something via the Flight Tracker App but if doing so starts a 3 day trial for £0.01 prior to a £29.90 payment the dates don't stack up. Either way she unknowingly clicked on something and via Apple Pay it began the process. Thankfully Natwest detected it and declined the payment automatically and alerted fraud prevention. Have to say Natwest service was incredibly good but distressing how easy the fraud attempt was and Foodie Hub should be ashamed.

Like many people, when I was registering another app, it jumped in and asked for 1 click to debit me £0.01 from my account trickly for a 3-days trial. Three days after it debited me £29.99 for monthly subscription that I haven't agreed to.
I emailed their customer service immediately for cancellation and requested to refund the subscription fee. At the beginning, they refused. I explained to them again that I haven't used their even for a second. Finally, they agreed to refund and transferred the money back to my account one week later.
It's a bit cunning, but reliable.

Was at a work event asked to scan a QR code to support the organisation - had to accept payment of £0.01, to Foodie Hub - totally different company that had clearly intercepted, and then 3 days later tried to set up a regular payment from my CC. My bank blocked the transaction, however reading some other reviews on this company think they will continue to try so need to remain vigilant!

Just noticed a payment for £14.99 to
FOODIE-HUB.CO. Never heard of them or knowingly bought anything from them, nor would I.
Discovered another payment made last month for the same amount.
I contacted Halifax. They refunded last month's payment and will refund yesterdays when it clears Pending.
Believe the problem occurred at the Chilli Festival (Stags Head, Stalbridge, Dorset) on the 25th August where I bought two drinks with my Debit card.

Bought an Ohme car charger. Clicked on the QR code to set up and immediately had a request through google pay to pay £0.01. Thought it was odd, thought some more but proceeded. Next thing in the Ohme app is an option to cancel adds for £4.99 - when the penny dropped. Ohme must have made this scam open to happen due to their advertising. My credit card company did contact me via text to ask if a fraud to which I replied but I think it safer to then cancel your card to stop any repeat requests. Almost unbelievable that this sort of scam can get through from a QR code on something you have just bought for £550. Probably as much Ohme's fault that this sort of scam can exist but by the look of things the scammers have been very clever in working this one through the system.

Did not know that i had been unwittingly subscribing to Food Hub as it is not something that I would use very often as I tend to cook for myself and rarely venture out. A great idea if you go out dining alot. Watch your bank accounts guys don't think this is a fully trusted site. No offer to return any money makes me feel like, this company is already struggling.

SCAM AVOID OR YOU WILL PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR NOTHING.
Impossible to stop subscription or even contact them.
I have had to get a new card to stop payments.

Out of the blue I had an email to say I had subscribed to the Foodie-Hub and they would be charging me £29.99 monthly. I have tried to cancel the company and listed them as a scam. Fingers crossed the payments are cancelled. I have informed my bank.

They took £29.90 from my account saying I had signed up to subscribe, which of course I didn't. They responded to my request to cancel the subscription but they did not refund my £29.90 which I requested. It appears to be a criminal activity by taking money from bank cards. I have removed my cards from Google. I have reported the matter to my bank.

A scam that imposes the software on QR codes

It's a scam. Avoid. If they take money from your account you need to dispute with your bank

Nothing more than criminals stealing your money.

I was trying to donate to a church via a QR code and must have clicked twice to close a pop-up "advert". Later that day, I noticed that Foodie Hub had a £0.01 transaction pending on my account! My husband thought it was for a food order we'd made so I ignored it (please act immediately if you see Foodie Hub anywhere on your bank statement!). A couple of days later, they had a pending transaction on my account for £29.90. I phoned Bank of Scotland Fraud dept and they were very helpful.
Turns out it doesn't count as fraud - it's "mis-representation" so you have to get your bank to raise a DISPUTE to get the money back.
On the bank's advice, I have now cancelled my card, taken it off Google Wallet, emailed the company to demand that they cancel all subscriptions in my name as I did not agree to them, and demanding a refund. Bank say it's unlikely I'll get a refund directly from them but if I don't, I need to contact the bank's dispute team in 15 days (this is Visa's rule, not the bank's) and they will get me a refund because it's mis-representation. What a stressful, horrible experience!
Bank have advised never to use QR codes to pay for anything and to be careful with Google Wallet online because fake companies often access your details that way.
