shrinkflation
shrinkflation. used it when booking seats as there was a discount. they have now done away with that. xp points are also ridiculous. aren't valid for a year. only from the first purchase so if you purchase just before the first purchase is expiring they can expire after a couple days. stupid
Flying Blue Family is Broken. Unless you pay...
Cannot share miles in Flying Blue Family.
Flying blue is happy to transfer miles from my Wife to me, but I cannot transfer miles as the Family leader to my wife.
But, if I pay 330 euros on points.com I can transfer the miles???
This is absolutely disgusting and shameful.
I'm severely disappointed by the absolute lack of humanity demonstrated from Flying Blue in this archaic approach of "Only Family Leaders" can transfer miles to themselves? I can rob my family of miles, but can't allocate them? What kind of Family feature is this?

Last december I had a flight with KLM and couldn't recover my miles. Now, almost a year later, I am having another flight and still not able to log into my account and manage to get the miles.
Terrible service to the customer!!!
We were on the path to a 5 star review ... until I got sick
We were on the path to a 5 star review. I was flying a lot, earning miles, converting all my hotel miles and Delta miles to Air France Flying Blue. Then I got sick. OligoAstrocytoma. Flying Blue, actually thru Air France didn't care, With a Brain Tumor, you can't fly. Flying Blue, altho having all sorts of medical documentation from here to the sun, said, "too bad" and was deducting 300 miles per month for inactivity. They told me I could buy miles, but between medical expenses and not working, evidence which i sent them, buying miles was the last thing I could afford. Finally at a certain date, they just took away all my almost 177K miles. They claimed to review the matter several times, even with the help of attorneys, advocates, who took up my fight for me long after I abandoned it on the basis of principle, but no dice. They told me the miles were a gift, I had not earned them as I thought. That didn't make any sense because they offered to to keep them active if I had purchased some.
I had 2K miles from a survey program called e-Rewards that I transferred over and sent Air France proof of the transaction. While the transaction was only supposed to take 7 days, it ended up taking 6-8 weeks, which took me beyond Flying Blue's 20 month inactivity rule. The policy was miles expire if there is no activity in 20 months regardless of the reason, no exceptions, no mitigating circumstances. The only correspondence with a name on it Anese Lee, was quite clear, that under no circumstances, for no reason would Air France pro long the 20 month expiry time: not in abeyance of a pending miles transfer, not for catastrophic illness, nothing.
Of note is that at no time was there ever any correspondence or communication with Flying Blue or KLM. Everything was Air France New York, AF Canada, and AF Paris, When asked about Flying Blue, Air France would respond, "we are Flying Blue". People in the airline industry, with various other airlines, heck even Air France couldn't believe this happened to me. After some years of fighting, they finally wore me down. It was more important that I fight for my health than a round trip ticket I may not live to use from a greedy airline I once loved and had flown to Europe exclusively, but learned my loyalty meant nothing.
I might as well have been dealing with American Airlines, who prior to this, I would have said did worse to me, but now look like angels compared to Air France/Flying Blue.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Website not working properly on phone waiting for HOURS trying to reach customer service . Then customer service unable to help because system won't let them. Oh my goodness - I'm not flying this airline again after this trip unless something drastically changes. I have been flying KLM for years and always appreciated their Customer Service. What has happened?
Like many others before this reward system is garbage
Like many others before - I learned that Flyingblue is a terrible service. While the airline itself and the flight attendance staff + food on business class is excellent, getting airmiles rewared isn't - on the contrary, when trying to get airmiles and xp points credited for some official partner airlines of Flying blue - they made things ultra complicated and asked me to provide all sorts of documents and proof which we don't have any more. A boarding pass which includes already ALL information - is not enough for flying blue. they asked for a eticket document although the number (including the Flying blue member card nr) are written on the boarding pass, including the booking reference. Compared to ALL other airmiles crediting system, this is with large margin the worst I ever encountered. Only one credit is that they answer relatively fast - but they are incapable of contacting the partner airline to verify the information and hence don't accept to credit. It is realy pathetic and basically a way to put off customers - NO other airline reward system is that ridiculous - so change to another airline reward system.
Flying Blue = Scam
I travelled to Martiniqe with Air France and I enrolled in Flying Blue in order to transfer my Amex points for a possible upgrade. But Air France don’t allow you to upgrade your booking in advance with points, you have to call flying blue. I called flying blue and gave them all essential information and they just said, NO business class seats or economy premium seats are available for upgrade with points, only with cash. I had to wait until online check in opened. I did and it was glitchy, my booking was for two people but you could only upgrade the person which made the booking??? Anyway I tried to upgrade one person and choose to do it with just miles no cash and the website froze. I tried multiple times, called flying blue customer service and they wouldn’t help. 5 min later all available buissness class seats where gone. It’s just so frustrating when you got the points but are faced with such unnecessary obstacles. What a sham for Air France and KLM to have such a scam awardsprogram
Flying Blue and Airfrance are Scammers
Flying Blue and Airfrance are Scammers. They have made my life hell. Their customer service is nonexistent. You call Flying Blue and you get someone who seems to know nothing about their own company and when I asked them my question they said to call AirFrance. When I called AirFrance, they said it was something that needed to be handled by Flying Blue. They gave me terrible advice and robbed me of thousands of dollars. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM. Fly any other airline to Europe. Some of my favorites are Lufthansa, Iberia, and Austrian. Any one of these will restore the faith in flying that FlyingBlue has robbed from me.
Garbage website from a garbage company
Been trying to open a freacking account for 2 days and their garbage website keeps giving me the error "Error from ASFC SDK due to incorrect details". Waste of my time...
The worst customer support I've ever…
The worst customer support I've ever experienced. Trying to claim miles from a flight for over 6 weeks now. They respond to the first email and then they ignore you for weeks. What a joke.
Going around in circles
Going around in circles because I'm unable to log in as I can't find my flying blue number in any emails but can't log in without it apparently, but I also can't email customer service without logging in first...
Redemption Mania!
We just redeemed miles for two business class tickets to Europe. The process took four hours and five phone calls to complete. It appears their phone system automatically ends calls at almost exactly 30 minutes. Each call station had different requirements for booking and paying for tickets taxes. Language and comprehension varied greatly with call centers. Providing names was challenging. Operators would constantly refer to us as "Mr." with our given names rather than the surname. This is a concern since travel documents must be the same as the ticket. Wait times on the phone were far longer than the immediate attending given for Air France cash ticket holders. This is the first and last time flying with Air France!
No miles for Lounge by Zalando purchases
I made a few purchases at Lounge by Zalando and yesterday I saw that I didn't receive the miles. I tried to claim the miles, but Flying blue helpdesk informed me that I need to contact Lounge by Zalando. From the Lounge by Zalando helpdesk I got the answer that they are not supporting the miles program from Flying blue. I informed Flying blue and I'm still waiting that they are sorting this out. However, be aware that you are not getting the miles for these purchases. Strange that Flying blue is advertising that miles are given by the purchases.
Cheating program
Cheating program. They didn't credit my complete number of miles just partly after I had to have several discussions. I feel frustrated and cheated big time. Not what I expect from an ethical airline
Worst service with an airline in my life
Worst service with an airline in my entire life. Customer service was awful.
I bought a ticket for my daughter with miles.
Her flight was cancelled. I tried to rebook it online. Did not work. I tried to rebook it through Whatsapp... more than 24 hours later they tell me I am still in the waiting line. I tried through telephone. Talked to around 6 people. The line disconnected when they put me on hold or was transferred from flying blue to the regular line and had to explain everyting again.
After several hours trying to rebook the ticket, my daughter has to wait in Amsterdam for two days and fly to Madrid through Brussels and Alicante.
My flights have been delayed many times for several reasons, including storms. But this level of service and this type of solutions is something I never experienced.
Spam
Spam. They keep spamming my mailbox. They don’t even have options for unsubscribing, and you have to go through an annoying process to not get mails. How is this even allowed? Cancer right here.
Bad customer services
I am so discourage with Flyblue bad customer service. I called them to upgrade the premium class to business they told me it would be possible with 30 000 miles. They weren’t do for me because they told me to do it at the airport. At the airport they wanted 60 000 miles to upgrade from Los Angeles to Paris.they wanted the same from Paris to Abidjan. This is only a 6 hours flight. This seem like a big scam, they are not honest at all .
I used to be platinum
I used to be platinum, then gold, then nothing. This program is unfair, they keep changing the rules and it is nearly impossible to keep its status. This is the worst loyalty program by far. Shame on you, Air France!
Beware of sudden Flying Blue status change
I made a booking through KLM for my husband and myself as Silver status members of Flying Blue. That status offers the advantage of priority boarding which is important to us for health reasons. Silver status was showing when I made the booking. Just before we are due to fly, our status changes. Suddenly we're Explorer status, which doesn't include priority boarding. The only way to achieve priority boarding now is to upgrade to business class. I contacted KLM who gave me a link to email Flying Blue. The link didn't work for a few hours and when I was able to send an email, the response from Loreta of the Flying Blue team was this: "Unfortunately the Silver status advantages can be used only when you are a Silver member at the moment you are travelling.
It is not possible to reinstate this status once you loose it, the bookings of the flights are not depending on the Status of the Flying Blue. This status is an addition to your booking when you travel."
I'm putting in formal complaints with ECC-Net in Europe and the Department of Transport in the US. Both organisations will let me know whether the actions of Flying Blue in demoting our status after making a booking meet the obligations of a frequent flyer program.
In any case: be sure of your Flying Blue status if you're relying on particular benefits.
