Predatory company

Predatory company. I got this card when I had bad credit and couldn’t get approved for anything else. I get that these cards with monthly and annual fees are predatory, but I also get that I had no choice when needing to build credit, so I don’t fault them for that. However, I called yesterday to cancel my cards now that my credit is better and I was able to qualify for much better credit cards with rewards and no fees. Despite telling the agent this, she kept trying to scare me by telling me I’d negatively impact my credit by closing the card (it’s a lie and myth that it’ll impact the age of my credit). I repeatedly told her I knew the annual fees wasn’t refundable and that my utilization would be impacted by reduced credit limit but that I was able to manage that at this time. I also told her saving on the monthly fees was more important. She argued back that the monthly fees was the payment activity helping my credit. I did not appreciate the constant games she was playing trying to scare me into keeping cards that no longer had use for me. I now have a good credit score and don’t need this card’s help. Thankfully I’m educated, but the agents lying and manipulating people who try to call to cancel could really harm people’s finances. When I called to cancel my Concora Credit card for the same reason of the monthly fees, I was treated much better and she simply accepted that my response of the monthly fee being an issue I no longer needed to deal with made sense for me. If a card with fees is your only option at the moment, I’d look at other options other than First Premier as they will try to scare you into staying and take advantage of you.

I applied for this card and was taken advantage of.

I applied for this card and was approved. They asked for my banking information on the application. My first bill came in and I paid it in full as I do all my bills at the end of the month and it was around $740.00. Because I did that, they suspended my card. They said since I sent a "large amount" they had to verify it through my bank where the payment came from. The very SAME BANK I used to apply for the card. I sent the payment on the 3rd of the month. On the 10th, the money was deducted from my account. By the 20th, I still had a suspended card. I called again and they said the card would be available by the end of the week. It wasnt, so I called again and got the same answer, "by the end of the week" this happend 3 times. Now Im frustrated and call customer service a fourth time, and this time they stated that I needed to send them a complete copy of my bank statement to verify the bank, the SAME BANK I used on the application, I used to make the payment. So, I sent a snapshot of my statement of the payment from my stayement to Premier Bank. Now, its about a month since I made my payment so I called again asking why my card was still suspended. They stated that what I sent, the snapshot with my banks name and account number, and the payment made, was insufficient. They wanted my whole statement. I said I was not going to send them my whole bank statement and that I wanted to cancel the card and have my fees they charged my credited back to me because I felt I was scammed. DO NOT apply for this card. They will charge you fees, then suspended your card so you can't use it. The only thing I gained from this card was I am out the fees that I paid. I have several other cards. NOT ONE TIME was I ever asked to also provide my "Bank Staement" for making a payment. What a waste of time.

I made 1 payment one day late

I made 1 payment one day late. Charged me $28 late fee. Then I made an early payment for the next month. Now, and still although both payments have been credited to my account, I am still waiting to have it show available in my account. It has been 13 days today since I made the last payment. I understand it may take few days to ensure payments go through, but to continue to hold the payments this long is ridiculous. Their solution is to make a debit card payment over the phone. They say the payment will be available within a day if I use the debit card. It should not take 2 weeks for an already credited bank payment to be available on my account. I realize this is a card for people with poor credit, but they are taking advantage of people who are actually trying to get their credit score up and to have something to use in emergencies. Usually, I try to pay this card off as soon as possible, but sometimes I can only make a payment. If you get this card, be aware they will charge you almost $100 a year to have the card that has $300 credit on it. It is almost useless.

Too many fees

First Premier Bank issued me a credit card, designed to assist with building my credit. This institution imposes numerous upfront fees, approximately $200.00, resulting in an immediate payment of $30.00. Based on my experience with credit card companies and banks specializing in credit building, First Premier Bank appears to take advantage of individuals seeking to establish or improve their credit, often without their knowledge. Various credit products and cards are available to help consumers enhance their credit profiles with more favorable credit limits and lower fees. I find it surprising that First Premier Bank continues to operate in 2025, charging numerous fees. I strongly advise against using First Premier Bank's services.

WARNING STAY AWAY FROM THIS CREDIT CARD

NEVER GET THIS CARD. They are the worst
credit card company in the history of the
planet. If I could give them negative 5 stars, I
would. They do not deserve to be in
business. They charge monthly fees and the
highest interest rate of 36 percent. They
charge you $25.00 to increase your credit by
only $100.00. They do illegal things also, like
increasing your fees when you close the
credit card if you're past your annual month.
This credit card company should be closed
and never be allowed to do business. I advise
everyone not to apply for or open an account
with this credit card company; you will regret
it.

The WORST! Period.

This is the worst credit card company I’ve ever dealt with. Their advertising says their mission is to help people like me improve my credit. They send unsolicited offers of credit for a pre approved $1500 credit line, however, they have never opened an account for a new customer with a credit line of that amount. They take advantage of already marginalized people and communities in need by offering OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive credit terms with no long term benefits.

First Premier Home Warranty SCAM

I purchased a home warranty policy from First Premier in April 2024. The compressor on my refrigerator went out and I filed a claim with the company. The company denied the request stating that they did not cover "systems". I sent them a copy of the policy that I received when I purchased it back in 2024 and the policy clearly states:
C. Refrigerator
Note: Refrigerator must be located in the kitchen.
COVERED: All components and parts, including integral freezer unit, except: NOT COVERED: Racks; shelves; glass; handles; doors, door seals, hinges, and gaskets; Freon; disposal and recapture of Freon; ice makers, ice crushers, beverage dispensers and their respective equipment; water lines and valve to ice maker; line restrictions; leaks of any kind; maintenance; interior thermal shells; freezers which are not an integral part of the refrigerator; wine chillers or mini refrigerators; food spoilage;
They claimed they were denying the claim because they do not cover sealed systems. I told them that it was not in the policy when I purchased it. They sent me a copy of the policy that stated:
C. Refrigerator
Note: Refrigerator must be located in the kitchen. COVERED: All components and parts, including integral freezer unit, except: NOT COVERED: Racks; shelves; glass; lighting; handles; doors, door seals, hinges, and gaskets; Sealed systems; Freon; disposal and recapture of Freon; ice makers, ice crushers, beverage dispenser……
Note: Refrigerator must be located in the kitchen.
COVERED: All components and parts, including integral freezer unit, except: NOT COVERED: Racks; shelves; glass; lighting handles; doors, door seals, hinges, and gaskets; Freon; disposal and recapture of Freon; ice makers, ice crushers, beverage dispensers and their respective equipment; water lines and valve to ice maker; line restrictions; leaks of any kind; maintenance; interior thermal shells; freezers which are not an integral part of the refrigerator; wine chillers or mini refrigerators; food spoilage; noise without a related mechanical failure; multi-media centers and internet connection components.
I told them that it was not in the policy, and I never received anything that stated they were updating the terms of the agreement. Then I was told that it was always there, so I sent a copy of the policy I had and told them no it was not. At that time, I was told it would go to under writing for approval because the female technician I spoke to clearly saw that the policy had been changed, and she would be in contact. I call 4.29.2025 because no one called or reached out to me and the technician comes back to tell me the claim was denied due to the compressor having Freon which makes no sense at all. They basically found a way to deny the claim.

Do not waste your time or effort on…

Do not waste your time or effort on giving first premier any money. Worst card I ever gave my money too. I received this card over 5 years ago. In 2023 the card expires but I never received a new one. I faithfully paid my balances and after the card expired I locked the card because it made no sense for charges to go to a card that wasn’t being used because it was not in my possession. I never received the new card even after I updated my address just in case they sent it to a wrong address. Still charged me an annual fee of $75 but still no new card! Never received my deposit back even after making account payments on time. Locked me out of my account so I was unable to pay the annual fee yet again for a card I still do not have in my possession and hit my credit for 100 points on late payment. First Premier has never corrected the issue. Please don’t believe the 4.7 review or the inflated number of people on the App Store who were paid to write good reviews, check yelp, Reddit, consumer review, just to name a few. This card is a 1 star rating on those apps. Do not waste your time. I plan to speak with lawyers for damages and lost wages!

THE WORDT CARD IN THE HISTORY OF…

THE WORDT CARD IN THE HISTORY OF CARDS!!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE STAYS AWAY. The interest rate is completely absurd. This is a card you will never get rid of unless you cancel it I’ve paid my card in full and now owe $32 dollars of interest… Not only that but to decrease what you owe is nearly impossible. Save yourself the devastation & apply elsewhere!! You will NOT appreciate or enjoy having this card. Thank me later!

First Premier Credit Card is breaching…

First Premier Credit Card is breaching original contract by increasing the Interest Rate or APR from already High rate of 28% to outrageous amount of 36%. They are doing this during a difficult Economic time for most people especially those of Low Income. Credit Card companies, Landlords, Etc should not be able to breach original contracted rates at their leisure

In short, they're absolute scumbags

In short, they're absolute scumbags, their fees are incredibly egregious and they'll harass you non-stop if you've fallen short on a payment, I received over 20 phone calls in less than four days from them. I had to submit a complaint to the Ohio Attorney General, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Better Business Bureau, just to get them to stop calling me.

DONT JUST DONT

Well, I’m gonna have to agree with all the other reviews not gonna say much here, but this company is by far the worst and I am filing also to get them, but not be surprised if I don’t hear about a class action coming up soon rather than later. For some reason you don’t, heat to the warnings of these reviews and you find yourself getting a card with this company. Don’t bother getting the credit protection program because you’ll pay for nothing. I paid for it was approved, but they kept avoiding to make the payments on time which entailed did exactly what it was designed to not do and that was affect my credit score or something happened to me, I couldn’t work. So that being said they made payments eventually eventually was keyword. I kept getting deducted on my credit score.

AVOID THIS COMPANY COMPLETELY

AVOID THIS COMPANY COMPLETELY

They are absolutely horrible to try to work with, they don’t allow you to speak without hitting buttons, they can’t tell you why they’re are interest fees on top of monthly fees on top of yearly fees especially if you don’t use the card at all, I wouldn’t give them 1 star but had to, to write a review, highly unprofessional, would not recommend even if your trying to rebuild credit, the guy was completely rude, unprofessional and had already closed both accounts without even asking then wanted to ask if I wanted a 60 dollar credit! Complete trash credit card company don’t waste your hard earned money! No compassion whatsoever! As a business owner I would never treat someone the way their company has!

After 17 years as a cardholder

After 17 years as a cardholder, a clerical error caused a late payment of a $13 annual fee, causing a 100 point drop to my credit. After jumping through hoops, writing correspondence, after 17 years of loyal, paid service, First Premier told me to kick rocks, they would not remove this late payment due to a clerical error. CHOOSE ELSEWHERE. They do not care about their customers.
