When Fimer SPA was with ABB, there were no service problems. when we sent in a faulty unit, it was repaired under warranty after the necessary checks had been carried out. but in the last few months, they have created a fake problem for every unit and said it was out of warranty.
Their latest excuse was truly ridiculous.
They excluded our IP66 solar inverter from the warranty because there was dust inside. My PVS 100 model is in a clean room at the factory. So when we use it in the field it will never work.
Definitely do not buy and use this unit. I definitely do not recommend it.
This is the most unhelpful, unresponsive and immoral company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with.
I had solar panels for by ABB in 2013. The inverter failed in 2019 and they quickly replaced (August 2019) without any hassle. Fast forward to January 2024 and the inverter had failed again less than 5 years old and it came with a 5 year warranty. I called them and was told that fimer had now taken over them and also taken all responsibility for warranty and repairs etc. Fimer have been less than helpful. At first they were ignoring my emails and Facebook message until I left a crappy review on here and then they were straight in touch. Their original emails also had the address and phone number of ABB which is dodgy in itself the number does not even ring and is UK when they are Italy. It is not their contact number. So after providing the serial number they have told me that the warranty for my inverter that was fit in 2019 ran out in 2018? 🤔 I replied saying this was not possible and provided proof that the inverter was fit in August 2019 they then came back with the response that the inverter warranty is from production not fitting. So basically saying that my inverter never had a warranty at all because it was fit after it had already run out even though it was fit with the promise of a 5 year guarantee. They have offered to repair it at a cost of €448 if I send it all the way to Italy at whatever cost that will be. They don’t even know what is wrong with it and haven’t even looked at it so I am unsure how they even know they can repair it and for that cost. I have found a reputable UK company with excellent trust pilot reviews that will replace with a brand new one and a 10 year guarantee from the date of fitting. DO NOT USE FIMER! AVOID AVOID AVOID at all costs. All they are interested in is taking over a company and shirking the responsibility of it. Absolutely disgraceful
Bought a very expensive top quality Inverter, the manual is woefully inadequate and the UK support is non existent, basically "Look in the manual".
They have removed the LCD from the "latest" product so you don't know if the thing is doing anything and the instructions for how to connect to its web server are vague at best.
Even though it is plugged into the mains you cant set it up unless the power source is generating .. how stupid is that .. yet another product designed from behind a desk.
Bought ABB on good recommendation but now taken over by Fimer. Should have bought something made in China!
