Travelers: Zanzibar offers a variety of dependable travel agencies, so I recommend comparing a few before making a decision. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience with one individual who overcharged me for a safari, including a fee for my 2-year-old, which other agencies did not impose. His rates for adults were also higher compared to others. By opting for a different agency, I saved about 350 USD. This person is extremely dishonest.# He held me accountable for his mistake after providing incorrect bank details for a fund transfer, resulting in bank charges that he promised to reimburse but never did.# He misrepresents situations and makes deceptive promises, failing to own up to his errors.# He lacks integrity, often spinning tales to cover up his misjudgments.# He fails to act with sincerity, as his politeness is merely a facade that turns into rudeness when questioned.No matter his response, don't trust it—he's adept at fabricating narratives. I've attached evidence to support my claims, so please be cautious of Mr. Godfrey and his agency, Experience Zanzibar Tours & Safaris.Mr. Godfrey, despite your commitment to reimburse the losses due to your erroneous details by early November, you started avoiding communication.I initially booked a few local excursions and a day trip to Selous, paying USD 65 as a trial payment, with the understanding that I’d settle the remainder upon successful transfer (proof of communication attached).Your bank details were incorrect, leading to a failed transaction. You acknowledged the mistake and advised against making further transfers. I requested the correct information and the possibility of paying upon arrival.Later, you falsely claimed that our Selous trip was canceled. Upon investigating as a separate customer, it was clear this was not true. Furthermore, you initially mentioned a boat safari would be included, which was misleading. Instead of admitting this, you suggested it depended on group consensus with an unlikely 10-20% chance.These experiences caused me to

Scammed by Godfrey and Experience Zanzibar Safaris and Tours. Organised safari through Godfrey, transferred money and then this was supposedly cancelled due to weather. Communication slowed down greatly subsequent to that and despite many requests for our money back (3 months now) still no money has been returned. So please please don’t risk losing your money and don’t book your safari with Godfrey and Experience Zanzibar Safaris and Tours as you may never see your money again.

It'd was very memorable safari in my life. Food , guide everything was fine

I loved my time here although my dad Christopher had an allergic reaction to the dancing of the crows although this was exciting my dad is now loving towards me I hate this because he is so loving before he hated me thank you mr animal man for all the kind words you said when this happened 🍒🍒🍒🍒

We had a wonderful holiday trip to Mikumi National Park with Godfrey. His a good person,we tell him our budget he gives us a good program according . We have done Mikumi one night two days and slept bastian camp, good food / attendants care deeply about customers especially the manager. I will be back again with my family.

Tourists: There are many reliable tourist agencies in Zanzibar. Check with couple of them and finalise. Don't trust this guy!! He charged me for my 2 year old kid for safari but other agencies didn't charge for kid and the adult price was also less that what Mr. Godfrey quoted!! (Similar for other local tours too) By that i was able to save around 350 USD and above all this guy is just a 200% CHEAT!!

# He made me pay for his mistake (Gave incorrect bank details to transfer fund and his bank charged me fees for that)
# He is a liar and makes fake promises (He promised to pay me the bank charges as it was his error but never paid and didn't respond when asked)
# He is just a cheat (Never agrees his mistakes and tries to make up some stories to hide his mistakes)
# Not at all a true gentleman!! (He just pretends to be polite and gets rude when questioned)

Whatever response he gives for this; never believe that as he is very good in making cooked up stories. I have attached proofs for all points. Read further to understand better and better stay away from Mr. Godfrey & his agency Experience Zanzibar Tours & Safaris

Mr. Godfrey, You promised to transfer amount (LOSS FACED BECAUSE OF YOU & YOUR INCORRECTDETAILS) in November beginning but started avoiding when asked for amount.

Initially i booked few local tours and day trip to Selous with you and paid USD 65 as an "advance test payment" and agreed to pay remaining once you received the amount successfully (Proof communication attached)

As the bank details you gave was incorrect, payment got rejected. You acknowledged the same and asked me not to make any further transfers. I still requested for correct details to transfer and also an option to pay on arrival.

Initially you said you booked Selous for us but, later you said they "cancelled the trip/ flight to Selous on 19th completely"!! & asked us to change our dates(Proof attached)

When checked as a different customer i found that what you said was a lie. Previously you said boat Safari will be included for 1 day trip to Selous (It's a wrong info) You could've accepted that and apologized instead you were just trying to act as if no wrong on your side and was saying only we asked in that group and if all in group agrees only boat Safari is possible and 10% 20% chance is there!!

So, based on those two experience, i completely lost trust on you and didn't proceed with you further.

I was expecting my full amount to be returned but you bank charged me fees for transferring with incorrect bank details which was not my fault!!

I'm just a tourist. You were boasting that you are running this business for 20 yrs and you must know your country/bank rules and regulations. Why should i pay the fine for the incorrect details which you gave!!??

Initially in September you agreed to pay me back that bank charges in beginning of November but now not at all responding to my WhatsApp msg, calls, msg on your site, email and avoiding purposely (Proof attached)

My friend and I were looking for an affordable safari in Arusha, our friend recommends us to Godfrey . We contact Him and He comes to our Hotel. He organized for us 4 days to join safari with the other 3 people. Safari was good we almost saw big 5 but we didn't see a rhino. good accommodation /good drive -was an amazing trip. We were happy to meet with Godfrey and his team...

I and my children had a wonderful tour in Zanzibar, 2 nights in stone town and 2 nights jambiani ,we did stone tour we also visited dolphin tour and jozani Forest. We real thank Godfrey cause he helped us everything at cheapest price

A must for anyone wanting to understand the history of Zanzibar. Guides are knowledge and the details are fairly graphic.
