Expedite fights for your

Expedia listened to my complaints that I had with a car rental agency in Curacao and at first I wasn’t able to get a refund but Expedia kept fighting for me and really valued my concerns. In the end they were successful at retrieving a refund for me. I appreciate there hard work. I’ve been an Expedia customer for decades and I will continue to be loyal to them, they have a great reward program with the one key credit card and better than average customer service.

If there was an option for NEGATIVE…

If there was an option for NEGATIVE stars that is what they earned! Reserved a hotel room for 2 nights on a busy weekday in Fargo ND. After not getting my itinerary I called to find out details and went on a 2.5 hr trip to NOWHERE! Excuse after excuse but never any ownership of their errors or any way to get my money refunded. I have spent more than a month trying to get my money back for the reservation that was never completed. I gave them my order ID #, my transaction id # and they are unable to do anything without the itinerary number that they never sent me. I plan to take them to small claims court simply out of the principle of it. $423.62 they received is stolen as far as I am concerned!
DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU WANT THINGS TO GO SMOOTHLY!

Disappointing customer support…

Disappointing customer support experience.

Upon arrival, the accommodation had to be refused due to clear hygiene and safety issues, including poor cleanliness and conditions that were not suitable for a safe stay. The property later acknowledged that the apartment had not been properly cleaned or checked prior to check-in and refunded the stay.

However, a remaining €45 parking fee for a service that was never used has still not been resolved. Despite multiple written requests, a formal notice, and repeated follow-ups, Expedia continued to state they were awaiting the property’s response. Promised follow-ups within specific timeframes were not met, and communication eventually stopped.

This experience demonstrated a lack of effective case ownership and accountability in handling a straightforward and reasonable request. Given the circumstances, I expected more proactive support from Expedia.

This customer service is trained to…

This customer service is trained to deal with unsolved problems. Do not call for any help, as they think that the we dont know its a Ai bot they depend on. The depend so heavily on that ai even the customer service just cant do anything around the ai. Owner of this company basically only wanna deal with income and doesnt care about the safety of his service. If it were for them once you paid they wont care. So never pay on the site bettersaid just call the hotel. This compantmy is just a money laundering company with undiplomatic people behind the desk that dont know how to fix the companys problems. The reviews say enoungh. And you can trust me ive been booking on expedia for over 4 years never had a problem because i dint have one. this is litterly the first time ive tried calling the customer service and they basically tell you to figure it out. Thank you for the service but im never paying for anything before i get there cause expedia will just take your money. Just go to thier competitors maybe they got a better sevice.

Avoid Expedia. Buy direct from hotel, airline etc.

Expedia has an awful, slow *and* inefficient customer service.

Awful: the first step in your call is an AI answering system that takes you in loops. It gives you extremely little time to input information it wants before it starts pressing you. In between "talking" to you, the machine makes clicking sounds like those of a 1990s keyboard.

Inefficent: Finally, after going around in menu circles with their AI thing, you get to a human being. You explain your issue, provide information, and they may claim they've resolved your problem -- but not!!! When you verify, nothing has been solved. It's a sham and you wasted your time.

The details: I booked a round ticket through Expedia to Syracuse, NY-San Diego California, to attend the cremation of a close, dear relative. When the FAA ordered airlines to cancel a significant percentage of their flights due 2025 government shutdown and the ensuing air traffic controller shortage , I received an email from Delta Airlines saying I could cancel without penalty.

The airline couldn't handle the cancellation because I purchased the ticket from Expedia. So I called Expedia, dealt with the cringe and anxiety-inducing AI customer-run-arounder and finally got to a customer service person. After I explained I wanted to cancel because given the circumstances I was unlikely to arrive for the cremation, she processed the cancellation. When she finished she assured me I would be refunded to my "original form of payment" (i.e., my credit card) in a few days. Five days later, nothing.

Start from scratch. Deal with the AI rigmarole and finally, another customer service person. This one spoke at the speed of a machine gun, took her time finding things out but, like the AI thing, wanted quick answers to her requests for information. After 51 minutes one the phone, like her colleague she claimed to have issued a refund.

We'll see. Next step is asking the credit card to intervene.

The object lesson: never, ever, do business with Expedia. Go straight to the service provider.

CALL FOR AWARENESS: EXPEDIA REFUSES REFUND AFTER HOSPITALIZATION

Dear friends and fellow travelers,

I would like to share my experience with Expedia, hoping to warn others and to find people who have had similar problems.

Together with my son, I booked a business class trip from Brussels to Miami and Nassau and back to Brussels through Expedia, for a total of €7,808.
Shortly before departure, my Son was unexpectedly hospitalized and, of course, unable to travel.

The cancellation was reported on time, with all required medical certificates and supporting documents.
According to Expedia’s own contractual terms, in the case of a regular cancellation (without illness), a penalty of €1,378 per person would apply, which would result in a refund of €5,052.

However, in the event of illness or hospitalization, the contract clearly states that a full refund should be issued.

To this day, Expedia has not refunded anything, neither the €5,052 that would be due in a normal cancellation, nor the full amount owed under their illness policy.

What followed was months of endless excuses and broken promises:
• We were repeatedly told to be patient,
• Then came all sorts of irrelevant explanations and delays,
• Eventually, Expedia even promised repayment in writing.

After months without any progress, we involved a lawyer.
When Expedia received the legal notice, they again claimed that payment was on its way, and then suddenly stopped responding altogether.

We have now taken legal action, and what we discovered is shocking:
The so-called Expedia “office” in Belgium, located at Kunstlaan 56 in Brussels, turned out to be nothing more than an empty room, a single desk and chair, with no staff or actual activity.
Our bailiff confirmed that this entity has no assets, which means that even with a court judgment, there may be nothing to collect.

Meanwhile, Expedia continues to operate worldwide, and it is clear that we are not the only ones facing this kind of issue.

That’s why I’m reaching out: SHARE THIS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE PLEASE
Has anyone else experienced similar problems with Expedia regarding refunds or cancellations?

Please share your experience in the comments or by private message.
Together, we can:
• share information,
• warn others,
• and possibly take collective action.

Please SHARE THIS POST WIDELY so more PEOPLE BECOME AWARE of these practices.
No one should have to fight for month ‘s for a rightful refund after being hospitalized.

Thank you for your support and for helping spread the word 🙏

Scammers, first class.

Scammers, first class. Despite the negative reviews, we decided to give it a shot. Big mistake. We booked a car rental for our Costa Rica trip through Expedia, thinking everything was covered. But when we arrived to pick up the car, we were hit with a long list of extra charges, insurance, fees, and more. Expedia makes it seem like the price you pay upfront is the total cost. Trust me: it’s not

Do NOT ever do a car rental through Expedia. Rent directly through the car rental company ONLY! Expedia is a scam if you need to cancel. Flights were cancelled and Expedia charged full price regardless of circumstances. Recommend renting thru car agency only.

Very bad service

We booked an accommodation with bathroom and toilet for 2 nights in Sweden and paid in advance. We received a message from Expedia that a mistake had been made with the booking and that the desired cabin was no longer available.

We could get a smaller accommodation but without a bathroom or toilet. We did not agree to this. We were asked to contact the campsite. We contacted the campsite by e-mail after which they referred us back to Expedia.

We then contacted Expedia and expressed our objection and annoyance. The response was that they would contact the campsite. Well, they did not get in touch, no answer. Or if we would just wait a moment. The campsite would have to agree to refund the money already paid!

This is the world upside down! We paid the full amount in good faith. Due to a mistake by Expedia or the campsite, we now have to nag to get our money back! Their response? Well sir, we have to follow these procedures. And no, we cannot escalate your complaint to a manager. A very bad service! We will not book via Expedia again! What a ridiculous approach of their service apparatus!

Thanks Expedia, great experience.

The trip was organized very well. We were sceptic after reading the reviews of Expedia but we continued with it.

From the booking to the entire journey it was a pleasure, the flights were with Pegasus but everybody knows this is not a high class company. At arrival in Dubai, the rental car was brought to us without any problems. The hotel was very good which was described as a 3 star but can go for a 4 star. It is a new hotel(Hotel Avalon) so the 4th star will come soon i hope.

Would book a trip again. Thanks Expedia.

Don't book Expedia! False advertising for "perks" when you buy expensive ticket! I paid extra for Flex Economy to select my seat and was not possible to select my seat unless I paid additional money!

I just spent 2 hours getting nowhere with the Customer "Service" department. They disconnected me twice and never called me back, as they said they would. And then when speaking to the second supervisor named Edwin, I tried again to explain to him that I purchased the most expensive economy ticket in order to be able to choose my seat (that was one of the "perks" of the more expensive ticket). But when I went to the KLM website (the operator of the flight) to select my seat, they said I would have to pay an addition $36 per seat (each direction) to choose my seat ahead of time. Edwin proceeded to tell me the obvious which was that if I waited until check-in 30 hours before the flight, I can get a seat that I don't have to pay for (like everyone else who bought a cheaper ticket). I am sorry, that's not what "seat selection included" means. It usually means that after purchasing my ticket I can go to the airline and select my seat. Which was not made possible by Expedia. I would have thought that Expedia would have made good on their promise and called the airline to get me the seat that I paid more for, but this supervisor refused and didn't even admit that this was false advertising or even misleading. If people can't select their seat, they should not be told that if they pay more, they will be able to select it. That is false advertising!!! Never again will I book Expedia.
