Do NOT Buy a Mobility Scooter from EV RIDER, LLC!

DO NOT PURCHASE A MOBILITY SCOOTER FROM EV RIDER!! Read through the complaints on the BBB website and you’ll understand why. There’s an ongoing pattern of deception and lackluster customer support that borders on outright fraud.

I spent $2,000 on a mobility scooter due to a stroke, and the customer service this company has provided is poor at best. EV RIDER should be ASHAMED of themselves for taking advantage of disabled people - many of whom are on tight, fixed incomes.

Allow me to illustrate just how badly managed this enterprise is with two examples…

I lost the key for my scooter last year, and when I called to inquire about a replacement, they told me that it would cost $150!!! Yes, you read that right. $150 for a tiny metal key that probably doesn’t cost more than $1 or $2 to manufacture. Fortunately, I wound up finding my key any never needed the replacement, however, this is price gouging at its finest.

Fast forward to two weeks ago, and the charger for my scooter stopped working out of the blue. As the right side of my body is severely compromised due to my stroke, I am HIGHLY dependent upon my scooter. I currently have no way of charging the device, and as such, I am now completely stranded with no way to get around. EV RIDER has literally left me immobile.

After calling EV RIDER and explaining my situation to Mike, I was told that they do not have any chargers in stock. How this can be possible I don’t a clue. Further, he told me they wouldn’t be able to get me one for FOUR TO FIVE WEEKS! On top of all this, they don’t even have a repair facility to refer me to. By itself, this equates to HORRIBLE support, but it gets worse.

On Monday (10/9) I was promised a callback by one of their “technicians” to discuss my options. Today is Friday (10/13) and not only have I NOT received the promised callback, I have left numerous messages for them since then, and they are now ducking my calls.

I’m demanding this situation be rectified immediately. If not handled appropriately, I will be filing a complaint with the Florida Attorney’s General office.
