I was previously following YouTube influencers! Wrong!

The results were amazing for me! I did the 5 week challenge and I really like the goal setting aspect tied in with the measurement. In my case the goal was to lower LDL cholesterol to less than 100. My LDL dropped 35 points from 131 to 96 in that 5 short weeks. EBN taught me about saturated fat and what foods to limit. Their Mediterranean diet chart helped me choose foods daily. Don’t get me wrong this is not easy! It’s a whole new way of cooking and strategy when going out to eat. My motivation is my mom who has had mini strokes and has a terrible case of Alzheimer’s disease. I also didn’t want to take a pill (statin). Previously I was following YouTube influencers advice and my cholesterol test results were going up!

A great resource!

As someone who has been involved in athletics from my teenage years to the present I am always looking for ways to improve my performance and maintain a high level of fitness and health. Miguel and the team at Evidence Based Nutrition showed a proven path to meet my performance goals and will also allow most people to improve their overall health whether they consider themselves hardcore or casual exercisers.
There are no mandatory "do as I say rules" but great information and suggestions which allow you to customize your meals and make achievable changes to your tastes and lifestyle.
And you get to choose how quickly and how much you want to adopt to your lifestyle. I have seen benefits from changing one meal at a time which has made it easier to make subsequent changes.
The research and science speak for themselves. It's never too late to start seeing the benefits from eating well and EBN provides the direction, resources and support to make the journey easier and manageable.
Thanks Miguel! Keep up the good work!

Science Over Hype: A Roadmap for Healthy Aging

Finding reliable health information in today’s influencer-driven landscape is a challenge, but this course is a breath of fresh air. In a culture obsessed with excessive protein—often at the expense of long-term health—this program provides a necessary reality check. It is incredibly empowering to have access to accurate information backed by epidemiologists and nutrition experts who prioritize science over social media trends. 

Instead of being swayed by the obsession with excessive protein, the curriculum emphasizes the vital health markers that truly matter, like cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood glucose. It shifted my perspective on what health really looks like as we get older: developing and maintaining the muscle needed for an active, vibrant lifestyle while simultaneously protecting my cardiovascular and metabolic longevity. 

At the heart of the program's success is instructor Miguel Ramos. Miguel doesn't just teach the material; he truly models the lifestyle. Between his delicious recipe contributions and the online meetings he hosts, his support is invaluable. He has fostered a genuine community that makes sticking to a whole-food, Mediterranean-style diet feel sustainable long after the initial course ends. If you are tired of the protein hype and want a science-backed path to vitality, this is the community for you.

EBN is terrific!

EBN is terrific! I've been vegan for 3-years, but clearly had some refinements to make in order to achieve my health goals. I learned a lot from the presentations, quizzes and other resources. In 5 weeks, my LDL went down from 118 -> 73. Thanks to Miguel for putting it all together!

Highly recommend this course

Such a great experience.

My eating habits and relationship with food improved so much as a result of this course. I've started to be much more intentional about the food I choose and limiting my ultra processed food intake.

Miguel is a great teacher, cant recommend this course enough.

Sustainable changes for eating healthy

After Miguel's class I finally like I actually understand how to eat in a healthy way that works for real life. For a long time, I have known that I need to make healthier choices, but I always assumed that meant giving up the foods I love (like cookie dough)—and I just wasn’t willing to do that. This class showed me that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Instead of strict rules, I learned simple, realistic tweaks that make a real difference.
What I appreciate most is that it actually works for feeding a family—even with little kids—and doesn’t require a ton of extra effort. In the past, “healthy cooking” always felt like it meant spending so much extra time in the kitchen, which I just don't have energy for after chasing toddlers all day. This approach feels doable.
Best of all, it’s sustainable—something I can keep doing for the long term, not just a short-term fix. I finally feel like I can eat in a way that supports my health and still enjoy my meals, which is something I was doubtful about before!

The online course was stunningly educational and engaging!

The course was beyond stellar for several reasons. I really feel that it is difficult to express how incredibly educational and supportive this course was to my own health and focus on improving my metrics like blood pressure and body weight. But here are a few points to show what this course did for me:

First, Miguel provided 35 incredible days (5 weeks) of online content, plus 5 online meetings allowing everyone to share their journey plus get presentations of extra content on top of the 35 days of videos and documents.

Second, the daily content plus the unique content in the 5 meetings was cutting edge and also supremely scientific. Beforehand I already felt I am extremely well informed and educated about nutrition but this course and Miguel's knowledge really pushed me forward. I even learned a few things or had a few beliefs challenged.....In fact, I feel like I doubled my knowledge!

Third, Miguel provided the content using an online platform that helped measure my daily progress in terms of the course program plus it allowed me to start and stop based on my schedule. I really felt his uniquely organized platform supported me on my journey, which was to help lower my blood pressure and also help me find ways to lower my weight (even if body weight was not the focus of the course).

Fourth, the content that really stood out was that not only did we get a solid education about foods like berries, beans and green leaf vegetables but we were given dozens of recipes and approaches that you cannot find anywhere else without paying literally thousands of dollars for that type of content. It's been 3 weeks since the course ended and my choice of foods, especially whole foods, has improved and I find I am resourcing the online information weekly still!

Lastly I did get my blood test done at the end of the course (we are to get it done at the start and at the end to check our progress) and my numbers were improved and were all within safe parameters while it showed me I need to do work on my LDL and cholesterol. I learned enough from Miguel's course that I feel that I now have more control and direction on how to use my nutrition to improve these 2 areas. I will report back and edit this review with my progress as I apply what I learned in this course.

Only diet program that got me to eat veggies

This is the only nutrition course that really got me to change the way I eat. The food pyramid that the course uses made figuring out what to eat so much easier.

I was able to switch from eating mostly meat to plant base within a month. I'm still a social meat eater when I'm out and about, but I'm definitely more aware of what I'm eating.

Thanks to the course, my non-HDL and LDL metrics are back to normal and consider very low risk now. I enjoy the online community and all the recipes that people share.

Also, the information is evidence-based and peer reviewed. I enjoy how Miguel really is able to answer questions based on science. And if he doesn't know, he says so and tries to consult with the experts for more information.

I hope the website gets an app with an online community. It would make following up much easier.

Hope more courses are added later on.

So glad I stumbled upon this course. It really was life changing.

Science-backed and easy to understand basic nutrition course

This course is actually evidence-based, in contrast to so many other nutrition courses and advice out there. It is nuanced, balanced and presents the data as it is.
I highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to increase their health- and lifespan and understanding the scientifically validated basics of nutrition.

Besides, Miguel is an awesome Coach/Teacher.

Big impact to my life!

This information made a big impact to my life. I've been able to reach and maintain a healthy body weight with little effort now that I know what to do. I also saw my LDL cholesterol reduce by 50%!
