In disrepair

I mainly want it for swimming, but that area is extremely grotty. Paint falling off things, many showers broken. Nothing is ever fixed. Lockers worn out, just stay that way.
They also DOUBLED the price of brining my kids into swim.
It just feels in a state of constant decay. Plus, other swimmers are just idiots who don't understand the concept of going in clockwise/anticlockwise for lane use. Could do with simple signage that made it easier for me to defend trying to use the pool like a normal person.

Misleading offer, poor standards, zero accountability

I was contacted by Everlast Gyms Bromborough with a promotional offer and assured there was no commitment if the gym wasn’t to my liking. I used the gym once and cancelled the same day, assured that my direct debit had been cancelled, yet attempting to end this so‑called no‑commitment trial became a drawn‑out and frustrating process.

Despite clear cancellation and written confirmation that no direct debit existed, Everlast took 30.00 from my account without authorisation. My bank has since refunded me as Everlast failed to honour the direct debit agreement. Throughout this, the company failed to acknowledge calls and emails. ‘Alex’ the manager also didn’t honour appointments and escalation attempts.

The gym itself was equally disappointing: dark, tired and with an unclean men’s changing room. Overall, a poor experience from both the facility and the organisation. I would not recommend Everlast Gyms.

Would put 0 stars if I could

Would put 0 stars if I could. Firstly half of the facilities do not work or are filthy. Their go-to excuse is - "it's going to be fixed very shortly" - years later, it still isn't. The staff are outright rude. You will be made to feel like a burden. Regardless of what you ask them.
They also make it extremely difficult to cancel your member ship. The staff there will tell you to contact Head office, and the staff at head office will tell you to cancel it in person. I cancelled it in person and despite not having stepped foot in their gym in about 3-4 years, they have the cheek to call me to suggest that as my membership was not pRoPeRlY cancelled, I am in arrears.
Absolute joke. Cheeky. Rude. Useless. And expensive compared to other local gyms.
Still waiting for an answer from the branch manager regarding these "arrears" and my DSAR request - It's been 2 months.
Avoid at all costs.

This gym is going down hill by the day

This gym is going down hill by the day! Don’t worry about paying monthly as you can walk straight though due to the gate / barrier being broken. No staff to see who’s coming in!
The barrier has been broken for months with no plans on fixing it so until then everyone should use this “ gym “ for free.
Fills more like a youth club than a gym. The gym is full of young kids who stand around on their phones taking pictures of everything and everyone!

Gateshead has gone downhill

Gateshead has gone downhill.
Some great changes to the main floor and equipment but the a/c isnt on in the main gym meaning the air is stole no movement, the mens changing rooms are a disgrace. Absolutely stink red hot no fresh air becoming a health hazard and a/c in there has been broken for weeks. Being run too cheaply

Unprofessional

Poorly maintained machines, Many out of service. Many missing. No Everlast personnel in the gym. Dirty floors and dusty machines. Unwelcoming staff with limited knowledge.
I could go on ….
When bringing the machine situation to the attention of the manager, he advised that it was all out of his control and there was nothing he could do.
He mentioned that he had brought in untried machines from the adjoining cycle shop to fill in space ….. the phrase ‘health and safety’ comes to mind here.
I almost felt sorry for him.
Not as sorry as I feel for the punters who are being ripped off by Everlast for the lack of service at Ocean Plaza.
I paid up and cancelled my membership.
I feel better for having cut my losses and stopped throwing good money after bad.
My recommendation ….. try another gym which does not have the misguiding hype of Everlast.

Deceptive referral promotion and zero communication from Cambridge manager

I am extremely disappointed with the service at the Everlast Gym (Cambridge Beehive Centre).

In January 2025, I referred two new members based on a clear promotion promising 3 months of free membership per referral. However, the gym has failed to honor this commitment.

Update: The referral promotion has finally been honored after four months. I’m updating my review to 3 stars as the result is positive. However, I’m still not happy with how this was handled. Between speaking to staff four times and being ignored by management via email, it wasn't a good experience.

I joined this gym on a 12-month…

I joined this gym on a 12-month contract and unfortunately my experience has been really disappointing.

The biggest issue has been cleanliness. On multiple occasions there has been visible mud and hair all over the changing room floors and a noticeable build-up of dust on and around equipment. It doesn’t feel like a hygienic environment to train in, which is the bare minimum you’d expect from any gym.

I raised this with the company, but the response was very generic and didn’t lead to any meaningful resolution. While they said they would “pass it on,” nothing was actually done to address the concerns.

On top of that, when trying to leave at the end of my 12-month term (despite giving advance notice), I was told I still had to pay for an additional full month due to how their billing cycles work. This wasn’t made clear when joining and feels misleading.

Overall, poor customer service, lack of accountability, and below-standard cleanliness. I wouldn’t recommend joining.

Equipment broken and no classes

7 treadmills, all step machines and incline ellipticals ALL BROKEN

Over half the cardio machines have been broken for MONTHS with no sign of repair, (7 treadmills, all step machines and incline ellipticals) which is unacceptable for a paid membership. The class schedule is sparse to the point of being almost nonexistent, only 1 early morning class. Steam room is also broken. To top it off, they’ve raised prices. You’re essentially paying more for less—poor maintenance, limited options, and zero value for money. Not worth it

blocked without a warning

now and then me and my boyfriend go to the everlast gym in Burton to do a couples gym session, only about 3 times a month if that since he has a pass to bring someone with and im not from the area. Recently his gym account got blocked because apparently he was suspected PTing, it is extremely clear we are a couple doing a session, they mentioned how they knew he was a PT down the road and therefore blocked the account because me and him go together. i understand the stress in gyms about this but he only ever brings me, and only me rarely and no one else. it seems unfair to block his account without a warning. overall it makes us both uncomfortable to train there together. we should be allowed to train without having to think we are being watched just because they know hes a PT elsewhere, even though I cant stress at how obvious we are a couple.
