AVIES IQBAL - SALES EXECUTIVE
Unsafe £26k vehicle sold and complete lack of aftersales support
Purchased a BMW 2 Series (YE72 VYB) for over £26,000 from Avies Iqbal at Evans Halshaw Leeds as a gift for my daughter.
While the sales process was fine, the car was handed over with serious defects, and the post-sale customer care has been non-existent.
Within 30 minutes of driving away, the tyre pressure light came on. On inspection, 3 of the alloy wheels have over 20 counterweights stacked on each of them—clearly pointing to bent or buckled alloys. The steering pulls to the left with an off-centre wheel, there is a loud rumbling noise from the rear wheels, and the paintwork is heavily stained.
I’ve been trying to get this sorted for 7 weeks. I took the car to Evans Halshaw Falkirk to be looked at, but no technician was available on the day, and repeated follow-up emails sent since have been ignored.
Handing over a £26,000 car in this state and leaving my daughter to drive an unroadworthy, unsafe vehicle is completely unacceptable.
If Evans Halshaw does not immediately arrange a courtesy car and rectify these defects, I will be exercising my statutory right to reject the car under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
Think twice before buying from here if you expect any sort of basic support after taking delivery.
