About Account Verification

Verification in eToro will take approximately up to 5 business days if all the required documents are submitted.

During this time our teams will be going over the details and documents that have been submitted to make sure we verify your account according to the latest regulatory requirements.

Should we require any further information, we will be sending you an email to the registered email address with the required additions. These might include any issues with the documents submitted like a lack of details, or a problem with the eligibility of the document.

These are regulatory obligations from eToro as a regulated financial institution.

On Deposits at eToro

Deposits on eToro are divided into instant payment methods and ones that might take longer like a Bank Transfer.

Instant payments like Credit Card, e-wallets and others will appear immediately on your eToro account.

Other methods might take several business days to arrive depending on the payment provider chosen. When sending a Bank Transfer, please make sure to take the bank details from the eToro platform according to the chosen currency.

It is of the utmost importance to include the unique Transaction ID to allow eToro to efficiently recognize the transfer and credit your investing account.

Caution - 3rd party payments are prohibited. eToro will ONLY accept payments done from a method of payment under the eToro account owner’s name.

Key points on Withdrawals at eToro

Withdrawals at eToro have a flat fee of $5 USD. *Except in the USA where we do NOT charge a withdrawal fee.

A withdrawal in eToro has 2 stages. Once received, the request to withdraw will be processed by our teams within 2 business days.

Following the processing, a withdrawal will take an additional 3-8 business days until the funds arrive to the used method of payment.

It is important to note that this time period depends entirely on the payment service provider.

Emails will be sent at both stages confirming the request was received, that the withdrawal has been processed and to which method of payment it was withdrawn.

All about Trading/Market Disruptions

Trading disruptions are situations in which markets cease to function regularly, usually defined by fast and extensive movements in the market. There is no one specific reason for this - they can derive from unusual trading (such as a crash or a pump) or physical threats to the stock market.

No matter what the case is, trading disruptions are a result of the unusual conditions in the market, which can cause panic and disruptions to trading.

Why you might not be able to open or close a position during a market disruption

  1. Lack of liquidity, or inability to receive pricing from our liquidity providers
  2. A stock might be halted by the exchange
  3. Inability to open SELL positions due to an asset being “unborrowable”
  4. An unborrowable asset is an asset that won’t be lent out to short-sellers, which might happen when there is no one willing to lend out the asset.
  5. On eToro, the SELL side is not available when the asset is unborrowable.

  6. Extreme volatility on different asset types.

In general, when an asset is not available during halting periods, set order rates that are triggered (Stop Loss, Take Profit) during the halt will be executed on the next available executable rate when trading resumes.

On June 15

On June 15, 2026, eToro automatically closed 5 of my IART short CFD positions via Stop Loss at prices of 18.10, 18.14 and 18.48 — generating a total loss of $1,395.19. eToro's own price chart for IART, which according to eToro itself shows their internal bid price, never reached 18.00 during that period. Independent data from TradingView and Interactive Brokers confirms the same. Two positions were even closed below their configured Stop Loss level of 18.20. I have filed a formal complaint with eToro (registered 15/06/2026) and have photographic evidence including eToro's own chart. Awaiting resolution.

Misleading business practices

I signed up through a promotion that clearly advertised a £100 bonus for depositing £1,000 or more. As a UK customer, I deposited exactly £1,000 using my UK card, expecting that a £1,000 deposit would mean £1,000 had been deposited.

What I was not expecting was to later see the value of my funds showing at approximately £988 when viewed in GBP. The most frustrating part is that information about opening a GBP account and avoiding FX costs only appeared after I had already deposited my money. Had the currency implications been made clear and prominent before I deposited, I would have made a different decision. When signing up and equally depositing, there was no mention of fees. This means that the bonus I was aiming for has been nulled as I have not transferred the minimum amount of £1000. This is extremely misleading and if I do not receive my £1000 back, i will file a chargeback through my back.

Based on my experience, I would not use this platform again.

Failure to process my application for SpaceX shares

I followed the Etoro link to buy SpaceX shares and it accepted my application and even asked me to complete a W8-BEN form for trading in USA stocks. But even though i requested confirmation that the application had gone through i received nothing.
I tried raising a ticket in the help system but that simply loops back to the chatbot. what an awful system, help is appalling and no indication if applications were in progress.
the only way i can make a complaint is through this rating system

I deposited 1000 already 2 weeks ago and it does not give me access on it , uploading my picture but it is getting stuck when i finish the verification , at least i tried 50 times already from application and from web even . they sent me email that i have access on the funds and my account is fully verified but when i open account immediately it asks me kyc pictures which i uploaded 100 times already but it is getting stuck on the final step . this is 100% scam , it does not give me any access on my funds . there is no support who can handle and fix this .

etoro pretends you own crypto then sells it from under you

I invested in ADA through eToro believing I was buying and holding the cryptocurrency. I later discovered that eToro had closed my position without my knowledge, at a price that was significantly below earlier levels, and that my account had also been reduced by ongoing “overnight fees”.

I later found out that eToro’s position was that I had not owned the underlying crypto, but had held CFDs, despite the platform’s “BUY” terminology and ownership-focused language.

eToro did not resolve my complaint directly, and I had to escalate the matter through external dispute channels. The matter is still ongoing.

Buyer beware.

E toro has embezzeled my money.

E toro has embezzeled my money.
My account is zero. As of January 2026 I had 34.000 dollars.
The asked me for some documents. They blocked my account and in the meantime they sent it to 'compensation'. I figured they did this because the documents were pending i did eventually sent them In June they sent me an e-mail saing that my account is reinstated. The funds are gone . The history of the portfolio as if i didnt have any funds.I am taking legal penal and civil actions for embezzelement
