A comprehensive failure to provide garden management services.

Our residential company inherited a management agency (RMG) who sub-contracted Enlan. Whilst there is some question as to the level of oversight and governance provided by RMG, one thing is clear: very little gardening services were provided by Enlan. This was despite multiple complaints through the management agency, but also direct engagement with Enlan.

Following our recent forced takeover of our company directorship, we were able to terminate RMG’s contract. We also planned to terminate Enlan’s contract too, however they elected to stay with RMG and terminated their own contract. This is not surprising, as under RMG’s ‘oversight’ they are able to get away with very little work for a high level of remuneration.

Our contract was around £167/month with Enlan. After around 18 months’ service provision, our communal areas were in a terrible state. Gardens were overgrown, many plants either untrimmed or dead, weeds were widespread, litter everywhere, planters broken or untenable for foliage, and absolutely no pruning or garden management had occurred.

The new directors actually met some Enlan contractors, who were unaware of which areas to maintain under contract. Despite a clear explanation, they spent around 3 hours on site and left without attending to anything substantial.

We have recently contracted a far superior company, who have spent around 20 hours rectifying Enlan’s lack of service provision. They have removed upwards of 18 bulk-bags of material to restore our gardens to health; these costs could have been avoided with appropriate regular management from Enlan.

Based on our experience, we could not recommend Enlan for gardening services. They are more expensive than the competition, and they are almost incomparably ineffective.
