not a safe space for yoga

"Do not go to this location unless you like being so close to your yogi neighbors that you get their feet in your mouth and their sweat on you. This is not a place to destress nor does it feel like a safe space to practice yoga. I have now left 3 classes before they begin because they have been overcrowded -- and I always arrive 15 min early to get a good spot.

They allow more attendees per class than the occupancy limit sign (in their classrooms) dictates. On multiple occurrences I have counted more people than allowed. This seems to be a safety violation. It's also often very smelly here, which is a big distraction for me.

They have taped ""mat locations"" on the floor, which in theory sounds nice and efficient so that each class fits the right amount of people... but in this case the mats are literally less than 2 inches apart from each other on all sides. You cannot do a single movement that takes up more space than your mat, and many of the classes here ask you to do so. There's no space to put your props along the sides of your mat because they are so close. And, your neighbors will quite literally be in your mat space at all times.

Speaking of props, many instructors here ask you to take 2 blocks and/or a strap, but they never end up using them in class (or let you know when there are variations where you could benefit from amodification). In general, I have found that the instructors here do not care very much for their students -- it feels very impersonal and often like the class is a forced rehearsal. Quite the opposite of what I'm looking for in a yoga class.

I've enjoyed most classes so far at the ABC location (even the more crowded classes) if you are looking for another this location. They probably have the benefit of a larger space though. I also like the teachers there a lot more."
