Ekornes and the Myth of Yennefer

I bought into the Ekornes legend and ordered two Stressless chairs at roughly $2000 each. The first came to me from the store's warehouse. It had stains on the leather, and chipping on the metal adjusting mechanism. The store took it back and delivered another one. That replacement chair had scratches on the circular wooden stand, and sloppy stitching on the back. By this time we were hopelessly exhausted and just accepted the chair. We purchased an extended warranty (earlier) and learned that tears in the leather would not be repaired by a factory representative, but by a local schlep hired by the store. Not that the chair has any tears in its current state, but we thought at the time that a wear policy was a good idea. As others have noted, Stressless chairs are too much of a hassle to repair.
Slow forward 8 months to the time we got our second chair, which was ordered from the factory and not in the garish colors that the store chose to stock. (You would think that a furniture store would hire people with a sense of color and taste. Nah). It is actually beautiful, and to keep it that way, I do not allow anyone to sit in the chair. Some pieces of furniture are meant to be in a museum, so keep the kids and the dog off of it.

It is not the same Ekornes brand as it was 15 years ago.

I just received a brand new Ekornes Stressless Mary living room set with Cori leather from SL Recliners store and it is not the same beautiful furniture as on the website pictures.

All of the sewing lines are not straight, like a worker was drunk or first day on the job.
No matter if the line needs to be straight or curved, the person just hasn't followed the pattern at all.

It looks like the furniture came from an affordable warehouse store, definitely NOT from Ekornes brand with over $15,000 of "quality".

I am looking at my almost 16 year old Stressless Paradise set with much higher build quality ready to sell and I don't know which set I want to sell now.

Beside an off-pattern line which causes uneven wrinkles or asymmetrical lines throughout the set I got unsecured leather underneath the armrests from day one.

I can hire a handyman from Craigslist to redo & finish the staples job underneath but I can't fix the sewing lines.

It is not the same Ekornes brand as it was 15 years ago.

Never spent A penny On ekornes chairs

My advice: never buy ekornes chair. They cost an awfull lotnof money and are not comfortabel,at all. We bought one five years ago spent a lot of money because I have a bad back. But I have never been able to sit in itnfor langer then half A hour. The angle, between back and Seat is not good and the cusshins far to hard. Worst purchase ever (together with our first kitchen 😠)

EKORNES warning – do not invest in EKORNES furniture.

I have an EKORNES Stressless chair where the seat is broken. It is the springs in the seat that is broken.

ERKONES furniture is very expensive and can be separated into parts. But EKORNES cannot or will not supply spare parts for its furniture. When you go to EKORNES with your problem, EKORNES only encouraged you to buy a new Stressless chair. EKORNES are totally unwilling to help and cannot or will not provide you with solutions, how to get your chair repaired.

ERKONES cost much, much more than similar furniture from IKEA, but as you cannot get spare parts for your ERKONES, so this EKORNES furniture becomes very expensive discount furniture, where customers are led to believe, by EKORNES false marketing, that they have purchased classic style furniture, which will last for years and years to come.

My call to all that wants to buy EKORNES furniture must be – not to invest in EKORNES furniture. EKORNES equals to no service and absolutely no help – as EKORNES charge good customers an awful lot of money.
