The most amazing experience I have had to date yet. 7 Nights on MS Royal Viking.
The Excursions were amazing and our guide was knowledgeable and informative. The sheer scale of the ancient Egyptians infrastructure was jaw dropping, from the detail and colour of the hieroglyphics and art in the tombs at the Valley of the kings to the size of the temples and obelisks and statues, most notable being the columns at Karnak temples.

Our Guide Zak was so helpful and informative and took us to extra excursions not on the itinary, a evening out at Aswan market for sugar cane juice and a stop off at the unfinished obelisk in Aswan Quarry.
The only niggle was an early start and arduous drive through the desert to visit Abu Simbel, but it was absolutely worth it.

Met some amazing people on my tour and we all became best friends over that week, including Egypt Escapes very own Marketing/customer service chap Robert, who you see replying on here. Actually he has written an article on Egypt Escapes website called 'what is it actually like to take a Nile Cruise' found in the journal tab of their website, all I can say is read that if you want an honest account of the exact same cruise and tour that I was on.
It turns out that I actually in 2 of the photos in that article, the group enjoying drinks at Aswan market, and the chap at the rear of the group shot on the last day.

That article explains the experience way more eloquently than I could have. Being on that exact same cruise, I can confirm its an accurate account and can be considered a realistic review of that holiday.

A Nile cruise with tailored extra stays is a once in a life time amazing experience that has to be done, add it to your bucket list.
When you get back home, you end up just being so awed by the memories of what you did, I still cant beleive it when i say.. I took a camel ride around the pyramids, saw Tut ankh Amuns mask and tomb, felt like an ant at the temple of Karnak, cruised down the Nile through the middle of a desert, seen Abu Simbel, took a selfie with the great Sphinx, went in the tomb Howard Carter famously discovered in 1922 etc etc.

All my transfers and private guides were on time and good communication, all kept in touch using whatsapp so my transfers to airports, hotels and meeting the guides for the private excursions were all stress free.

The Iberotel hotel in Luxor and Hotel Cairo Pyramids in Cairo and the MS Royal Viking cruise ship accommodations were comfortable and suitable. all had all you can eat buffet breakfasts and dinners and the cruise has buffet lunches too. The food was international standard, no hygiene issues and i didn't have any stomach problems. The alcoholic drinks you pay for but they are ridiculously cheap compared to the British pound and any ice is safe ice, made with bottled water. Couldn't fault any of it.

The staff I met were friendly and eager to help, and the sights and experiences...well I urge you to go see for yourself.

Mr Robert Aston, it was an amazing holiday and i enjoyed our drinks on the sundeck and chats in the bar and the laughs and shared experiences we had on the trip. Brilliantly written article that summed it up perfectly. Convey my regards to Serah Peters as if it wasnt for her putting it all together for me, i doubt i would have had quite the same experience.

The trip was a great success and well organised, with all trips on time, excellent liaison and guides and a nice hotel. It would have been helpful to have been told how NOT to pay extra for seats on Wizzair who give little help on this. And be warned, travellers: coach travel timings are African, not European!

We had a good time but, there were several disappoints to the trip. The cruise its self was okay, the food was lovely and the staff were very polite and helpful. The itinerary kept being changed daily so you couldn't tell what time the restaurant would be open or when it was closed. We were told that we would have time to visit sightseeing places in Luxor but as some more passengers board we would not be able to do this which was a very big disappointment. The journey by coach from Luxor to Hurghada became a very big headache as we were driving round Luxor looking for some passengers. The journey took us from 10.30 am till 17.00, plus we were not supplied any meal during this ride. I would never have booked this if i'd known about the coach travel and the time it took.

Very helpful booking process. The holiday overall was fantastic. Hotel in Cairo very nice, the guide there was exceptional. Boat MS Royal Viking was very nice and clean. If I had one complaint it was that the buffet food was tepid rather than hot. Service was excellent. Our group of 14 travellers really made the holiday---we had such a laugh. My one BIG complaint is that the Hoppa/Relax taxi service DOE NOT WORK. On arrival at Cairo we were delayed in a long queue for visas and he did not wait, As raised by someone else on here the number given is international and does not connect.We had to pay for another taxi. Our second pick up was texting via Whatsapp but said he coulnt find us despite us standing immediately outside the arrivals door----he even asked for a photo but then took almost an hour to arrive----he definitely wasn't at the airport!! Finally we had an early start on our last day so retired early only to be pestered during the night for details of our hotel. Neither driver knew where it was and neither spoke English. They also expect that you will have an internet connection on your phone which I think is unacceptable. My husband doesn't take a phone on holiday. I have complained to the company a week ago asking for a refund but so far no joy. My advice is to get your own taxi.

Update----The taxi firm Hoppa--denied any failures but I had their messages on my phone . Egypt Escapes have sent a £50 good will gesture. Hope they don't use this firm again

Excellent organisation all through our trip, cars turned up on time guides had good knowledge hotel jaz pyramid and cruise very good but choice of jaz hotel at soma bay bad for us at 77 and 81 years old, great accommodation but too sprawled out from main bars restaurants so far thet we had to use a golf cart each time food buffet chaotic at breakfast and it was like an up market nutlins would not reccamend that hotel but stay nearer to hurgadah but all in all we enjoyed our trip

Hi, I just wanted to say that this company have been so easy to deal with. In particular, Serah Peters was an excellent support and very thorough with all the details and information. We have been dealing with Reeha at Egypt Escapes she is very polite, very very patient, very informative ... this has been a long process which started initially in Sept 2024 which then had to be put on pause due to family illness ... restarted the process last week, and after many phone calls and quotes, we have finally booked the dream Cairo/Nile Cruise holiday ... Reeha has shown incredible amount of patience ... many thanks for all the help given. I had specifically asked to deal with Reeha due her incredibly patient and friendly nature.

The transfers company HOPPAGO was very poor in Cairo The international number given to ring was a complete waste of time as it never got connected.
The driver couldn’t speak a word of English so couldn’t communicate to him at all.
Wasted nearly 90 minutes looking for him.
Jasmine Palace described as 5 star doesn’t meet any where near to the standard one can expect equally the Royal Viking cruise although pleasant was again never was 5 star as described while purchasing the package.
I feel the service needs a proper and close reevaluation.
The admin was brilliant on each occasion when contacted about issues and responded promptly.

Sarah was amazing, not happy at being charged over £1 a minute on the 0844 number when it tells you it is 7p per minute

Another good holiday to Egypt thanks. Nile cruise with full excursions that were amazing. We stayed on the MS Royal Viking which is an amazing Nile cruise boat that has all outside cabins with Nile view full length sliding door and balcony. Can’t wait to go back.

The booking process was a nightmare, numerous errors and a lot of work to contact and correct. Upon arrival in Luxor we were not met by a rep. they missed us and we had to get a local taxi ( interesting experience). we did get refunded for cost. Our guide, the boat and the excursions were good.

I phoned Egypt escapes for a quote, the lady I spoke to, Susan Wilson, was absolutely fantastic, she understood what I wanted as a single traveller, she had my quote ready in as little as 5 minutes, emailed it to me, I told her I had to think about the price and she told me that was fine, (no bullying to buy the holiday) I came back a few days later after sorting some things out and paid the deposit.

I recommend people book with Egypt escapes for their holidays to Egypt.

Very easy to talk to lve phoned them on more than one occasion to get confirmation / advice on various aspects of the trip now just waiting To go can't wait

We had a holiday that surpassed all of our expectations, something that has never happened to me before. there was only one real hiccup, a transfer not turning up but the transport company quickly put that right. there could have been better information on the Nile cruise itinerary which was not fully confirm until we arrived on the boat. I would thoroughly recommend the MS Royal Viking and Sun Travel who did the work on the ground in Egypt. We all had a fantastic time, well worth the money.

I dealt with Judy to book my Nile cruise. She has been absolutely fantastic with the booking process. She has gone above and beyond to get me the best deal. She even worked on her day off to help me achieve this. I am so grateful for this. I hope that she is appreciated as a member of the team. She is a real credit to the establishment and I hope that this gets recognised. She’s been polite, kind, knowledgable and honest. So far - it’s been a real pleasure dealing with Judy. I’m really looking forward to my Nile cruise!
