Avoid at all cost

Edel optics delivery partner failed to deliver my order, and the edel optics are refusing to refund me, despite it being nearly 30 days since I placed the order, and despite me expressing a wish to cancel the order. They say they have to 'complete an investigation' with UPS, which could take 20 working days. This is a Christmas present which I have been forced to order from another firm, I wish I had done this to begin with. Amongst the worst customer service I have experienced. Do not order from this firm or you risk being out of pocket.

Order and replacement both same issue

Ordered a pair of sunglasses and they were uneven unfortunately. They kindly offered to deliver another pair same model but the replacement was uneven as well! Wondering if they resent the same pair, honestly.
165 EUR and really felt fooled!
Won't use it again and I recommend the same to all the readers here.

No refund,no goods

No refund,no goods
I prepaid 3 pair of sunglasses through bank transfer and I never received my order. I asked for refund and I never received it. They claimed financial problems of the company. They take customer's money and still operate.

no problems

edel was the only place I could find the frame style I was after. The purchase was smooth, even though international (Germany to the US), and no issues.

I do not recommend it!!

I do not recommend it!!! They sent the wrong glasses that I ordered, I returned the glasses, but I did not get my money back. I wrote maybe 10 letters - the robots politely answer and keep promising to return them, but I do not have the glasses and money

Edel Optics accepts orders they have no intention to fulfil!

Do not trust Edel Optics! Their European and American sites redirect customers who identify Brazil as their country to a site with a Brazilian domain, written in Portuguese, that displays prices in reais. It accepts orders and promises deliveries—but they do not deliver to Brazil!

This was confirmed by their customer support agent, who offered no explanation why their Brazilian site is accepting orders and promising deliveries they have no intention to fulfill.

Reading the other reviews here offers some clues. The company declared bankruptcy in 2024, and a large number of customers since then have complained they were not refunded the money they are owed.

Of course this does not provide an excuse why they continue to direct customers to a Brazilian site where they accept orders they have no intention to fulfill.

Received counterfeit item

Received counterfeit item, no word from anyone. Had to do a return. Didn't get my money. To get my money back I had to do a chargeback with my cc company. This all took couple of months. Non existent customer service.

Excellent Email Support

I m rating 4.5 stars

I ordered two pairs of glasses. In the first shipment, I received one correct pair and one incorrect pair. However, the customer service team was very responsive via email, and once I returned the incorrect pair, I received the replacement within a week. The product also appears to be original—it came with the brand box and an authenticity card.

Overall, I'm satisfied with my experience and wouldn’t hesitate to order again.

Terrible Customer Service – Not Worth the Risk…

I ordered Tom Ford FT1089 sunglasses and received a completely wrong case — way too small. After multiple emails explaining the issue, all they offered was:

return everything and wait weeks for a replacement;
or spend another €200 on a second order and hope for a refund.
I bought these for the summer season — waiting a month is not an option. And I refuse to waste more time fixing their mistake.

Their service is slow, robotic, and completely unhelpful. If they can’t guarantee a proper product, I seriously question the authenticity.

Not what you expect from an EU-based seller. Avoid.

Positive experience

I ordered some Ray-ban sunglasses from edel-optics without seeing lots of these negative reviews. I panicked and thought I may have made a big mistake. I was wrong! The sunglasses arrived really quickly and are great. They were a good price and also edel-optics were one of the only places that actually had them in stock. Very happy with my purchase.

In case of Edel's "promotion prices"; Buyer Beware!

You need to be cautious with Edel’s “promotion prices”! Edel does not mention anywhere that a reason for a price reduction could be that the particular item on special offer was returned by another customer and that it may have some traces of handling, wear or damage. It would seem that Edel leaves it up to you to discover this and to go through the return procedure if you want something done about it. My review is by no means the only one mentioning this. This is one of those modern aftersales approaches of letting the punters do a part of the logistics legwork in order to reduce the seller’s own spent time and costs. If the punter doesn’t notice or doesn’t mind B-traces or decides that the rebate is such that further actions are not worth the effort, it’s hooray for the seller. If the punter DOES notice and mind, he is part of the statistics that need a bit more looking-after. Mollify the punter with a replacement and dampen tendencies to complain publicly. And try to sell the returned goods in another way to someone else.

I wanted a Persol 714 in colorway 1216B1, which Edel normally sells for 259 Euros, but now offered for a "promotion price" of 174. There were 2 left in stock, i bought one and paid and went back to the original page for fun, to see if their clever software had updated the stock inventory. It had ("only 1 PO0714 left in stock"), but the promotion price was now 199. Interesting.

The answer was in the product sent to me. A model 714 comes from factory with both folded temples packed in protective sleeves. Those were missing. The temples also fold in halves, and stretch to full length with a click. One hinge didn’t click. And there were a lot of scratches on one of the polished metal hinges. This was obviously a used pair of glasses, with damage and wear.

All sellers accepting goods returns have inspection personnel. I noticed all these out-of-order-details as a simple customer not working in the glasses-business. So these details must surely have been noticed by inspection personnel whose d*mned job it is to notice. Now the flexible behavior of the site software made sense. First lure punters to the low 174 Euros offer. And when the flawed item is sold, raise the promotion price to 199. Which boils down to 25 Euros extra rebate for the lame hinge and the scratches. Oh, they knew alright. But not a peep about damage.

I think that damage should be mentioned beforehand, allowing buyers to decide if the rebate is adequate coverage. I even think that the mentioning of product damage is required by Law. Shipping B-rate merchandise to me without mentioning damage and without any repair effort spent on it, is an insult. Expecting me to fill in an online return form and trundle to the post office with a return package like a sheep, with them knowing full well that there was damage before they shipped it to me, is another affront. I repaired the glasses myself, because that cost me a fraction of the time that the formfilling and return hassle would have cost me. My skills and tools for this are professional level, trust me, and the glasses are like new again.

I mailed to Edel in Hamburg, in my best school-German, with illustrating pictures. I didn’t ask for other glasses, i just wanted their vision on the matter. No answer. I first posted a somewhat nicer review, but this one is a bit nastier. So now you know. Buyer beware!

My answer to Edel's reaction (which they entered on June 3rd, 1 month after i posted): i repaired the damage myself. The glasses are secondary; the main issue is how you resell returned items. I see no arguments in the reaction that make me change my vision.

Dear GS,

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We are truly sorry that you received a product in unsatisfactory condition and that your message went unanswered — this clearly does not meet the standards we set for ourselves.

To clarify: all items, including those sold at promotional prices, must meet our full quality standards. We do not sell second-choice or B-grade merchandise. If the product you received showed signs of use or damage, this should not have happened, and we take that very seriously.

We have already reached out to you via email to offer a solution and hope to resolve this matter promptly.

Best regards,
Edel-Optics Team

packed properly, looks amazing, and the quality is excellent

The product arrived in less than a week from Germany to Romania, which was impressive. It was packed properly, looks amazing, and the quality is excellent! I’m really happy with what I received.
However, I did experience a confusing situation with the delivery company (UPS). They told me that my package was lost, but I ended up receiving it later that same day. Thankfully, it was delivered safely, but the miscommunication caused some stress.
That said, this issue wasn’t Edel-Optics’ fault, and I’m very satisfied with the overall experience and the product itself. I would order from them again!
