This company have been employed on…

This company have been employed on behalf of Onward Homes in order to perform 5-year electrical safety checks and compliance for their tenants.

I've had two appointments forced on me, which I was unable to attend due to work commitments (who can sit around all day on a weekday waiting for an electrician to show up at short notice?) and after trying to rearrange my previous appointment, I was told not to bother as I wouldn't be able to change it within 48 hours from the appointment date, and that I should just wait for a leaflet to be left in my mailbox to make further arrangements.

After this appointment failed, I did receive a leaflet with instructions on how I may proceed with booking a new time and date. However, within hours, before even having a chance to find a suitable date, I was forcibly given a rescheduled appointment for today (Friday 31st January).

Additionally, after my second appointment failed, I received a threatening letter in the post which outlined that I had apparently breached my tenancy by not attending this appointment or trying to reschedule, which I *had* attempted to do, and that my landlord may pursue legal action against me.

Thankfully, I knew the 31st date would work, and so I made arrangements to wait for the engineer between the hours of 8am and 12pm as required. I waited from 6am listening for a phone call or my intercom buzzer, and after reaching 11:15am with no sign of an appearance by the engineer, I decided to call ECS to find out what was going on. They told me that the engineer *did* try and call this morning via my building intercom, which frankly I find to be an audacious lie, because my intercom contains a call log and there was categorically no call from an electrician this morning.

I find their phone agents to be disingenuous and patronising; the last agent I spoke to actually said "I advise you not to miss this next appointment as it will be the third and last", as if it was my fault today's hadn't gone through.

It's sadly no surprise to me that Onward Homes are using cowboy services like ECS who lie and bully. Stay well away.
