Great idea

Great idea! I still Google from time to time but have mostly moved to Ecosia. Works almost as well but makes a difference

Great mission, could use a better User Experience

Ecosia I love your mission, but your usability could really use some work, please put more focus on User experience by hiring some extra UX designers and testers.

After using Ecosia for 3/4 months it annoyed me to the point of switching back to google even though I'm against their policies. Whilst using Ecosia I found myself regularly having to switch back to Google to effectively find what I was looking for.

I'll give an example of some usability problems: On Ecosia's app (IOS, Iphone XR), in the image search, when ticking on an image, the close button is so small that it's a 50% hit/miss, it almost feels like a minigame to try and press it, and when you miss it costs you time because it takes you to the site's link instead of back to searched images overview. A couple "small" things like these build up irritation and become very frustrating after a while.

Another one, on desktop, the image search shows many images that take you to a dead link when you want to see the fullsize version. Dead ends galore.

To s, Ecosia doesn't show you as effective or accurate searches as google would, I also miss the "shopping" feature.

Please Ecosia, I could not find a feedback option in your browser, that's why I'm giving this review in the hope you will UP your game. If you want to make a real difference in the world It needs to be just as good as the competitor's user experience. I wish you guys the best,

Regards,

- UX designer

Just as easy to use as google

Just as easy to use as google, with fantastic search results. Started using it as my default browser last year and haven't once had to return to google. Very impressed with the functionality and usability and obviously the goal of ecosia is hugely admirable.

Environment-friendly search engine.

Ecosia is a fantastic search engine. Though it may not have the same image results as google, it is reliable and actually plants trees! I'm very happy that they have found a creative way such as this to save the environment. But as I said, the search results are not the same as Google's, and if I were to look up something specific I would use Google, but overall it is a great search engine, and I recommend it to all who believe there is hope for our planet.

An Amazing Search Engine

An amazing search engine - not only for what it does but how it works. It is strange to get used to but if you type your search and end the search with #yt it goes directly to youtube. If you end in #g it goes to google. For example, if ecosia didn't find the socks I was looking for I would write socks#g and it would go directly to google. I think there are even more shortcuts that I just don't know about, I think to amazon too! It also plants trees and is just an amazing organization all together.

Number 1 search engine I ever used it's efficient fast and gets what I want.
And best thing is it uses most its profits in a good way to plant trees for environment planet earth
Would not use any other search engine. But it sucks for its maps services.

If you care about our planet try the Ecosia search engine

I have been using the Ecosia search engine since I saw it recommended on the 2040 website. At that time Ecosia had planted 50,000,000 trees, it has now planted over 100,000,000 trees. I set Ecosia as my default search engine. It would be good if more people used Ecosia as it not only plants trees, it is also better than carbon neutral. It is certainly to be recommended for anyone who cares about the future of our planet.
Ecosia also has a shop selling sustainable products.

BEST Search Engine yet!

Ecosia changed my life around. It's better than Google, they run on 100% solar power. For each search, they plant one tree. Merchandise plants 20 trees! I love Ecosia, even if I can, I will NEVER turn away from this spectacular search engine. :)

Slight Inconveinces Worth Saving The Planet!

I love Ecosia's goal! Although it's a bit annoying that what you're searching for doesn't immediately come up, it's a small price to pay for planting trees. I have planted 20 so far and it's nice to know that something so trivial can have such a huge impact on the environment!

it's ok

i like the idea of it but i feel like there isn't as much information as like on google for example. like if im trying to search up the definition of something it will take me to this website instead of giving me a straight up definition.
