I usually handle pest control myself, but due to back surgery this year, I decided to try EcoShield Pest Solutions. The salesperson promised a trial of three visits at $165 each. After the first two v... See more

Good Experience
I have had a very good experience with conscientious service here in Minnesota. Ants are gone and muddabbers are greatly reduced. I haven’t seen a box elder bug. They did a great job replacing our attic insulation, cleaning up behind them everyday of a three day job. We can feel the difference in our home cooling this summer. They even helped with the voles in our yard. I have had them for two years now and am very pleased.
Negative Ecoshield Experience During Past Year
Last year, we had a lot of pest issues, including spiders and yellow jackets, but mostly, we had a huge mouse invasion in our garage and in our vents in the ceiling due to new construction going on next to our neighborhood.
We contracted with Ecoshield Pest Control for a year. While they did seal off the garage mouse entrances (the ONLY positive), they only set traps around for the mice inside the garage, which they mostly avoided, and continued to live in our garage anyway. Ecoshield checked for mouse access points to our vents but said there weren't any.
They found mouse tunnels in the insulation of our attic, and we paid thousands of dollars last summer that we did not have to spare, to have them put in insulation that was "mouse proof" according to them. I found out after they finished the job that they had cut a hole in my daughter's window screen to gain access to the house, which is something we are not able to replace. The other daughter complained that after they blew in the new insulation, there was no air getting to her room. When we had our vents cleaned, the guy found 4 bottles of caulking just inside her vent! They weren't there before. She still isn't getting air in her room.
Over the past year, I kept written notes about the problems we had with Ecoshield and ended up with 5 pages. I didn't even log everything.
You cannot contact the local office directly but rather are routed to a central location which is all answered by foreigners, who were very difficult to understand at times.
Many times, I would set up an appointment time with them on a day and time that was good for me, only to have them fail to show up. When I would call (central location again), I would be told that they had arbitrarily changed my date and time, without even talking to me first or letting me know, to a time that wasn't possible for me to be there! This happened repeatedly. NO COMMUNICATION with me!!
We finally got rid of the mouse problem in the garage by buying poison ourselves and setting it all around the garage. The ones in the vents continued to live on. We had Ecoshield come out 3 times and tell us each time that there were no mouse access points to the vents, yet they continued to enter somehow and get in the vents.
We have 3 indoor cats who kept them out of our house itself, fortunately. We finally ended up with a feral cat who moved onto our porch outside and he started catching the mice around our house. It has been several months now since we have heard any mice in our vents, so apparently, the feral cat has taken care of the problem that Ecoshield didn't. I'm sure the access point must exist however and that mice COULD re-enter the vents anytime they want and are able get by the feral cat outside.
The last time we had an Ecoshield person out to check our vents was about two months ago. He looked in our attic and said that they had again tunneled through our insulation. I asked how that was even possible since everyone from Ecoshield who had blown in the new insulation had promised us that it was "mouse proof" and that there was "no way" that any mice could tunnel through it. That Ecoshield person apologized for any confusion and said that the insulation is NOT mouse proof!!
As for the bug treatments, even after the treatments, they continued to live on. The treatments did little to nothing to get rid of the spiders and yellow jackets.
We wasted THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for NOTHING!!! Both my husband and I are disabled and on a very limited income and are FURIOUS about their lying to us and all their shenanigans. Do NOT use this company!! They are HORRIBLE!!
This company is absolutely terrible
This company is absolutely terrible! They deceive you into signing a contact form and then impose an exorbitant $250 fee for cancellation. Despite my request for them to proceed with the final spraying and my willingness to pay, they persistently harassed me until I complied. Additionally, they failed to show up for the final spraying when my contact would have expired. Please be cautious and avoid this company at all costs!
This company has been a nightmare
This company has been a nightmare. They lie just to get you to sign the contract. The contract is ambiguous when trying to dispute it. They tell you it does not auto-renew, but it sure does. They destroyed my property, lawn and electrical box. Left lots of trash in the yard. Manager ignored my attempt to have them rectify this, even after sending photos. I tried cancelling my last service, but it was cheaper to get the service. Rep said contract was over after last service. They show again without the normal text reminder. I tried to dispute. Back to the contract you have to cancel in writing or they keep coming, but it's not auto-renewal. Still would not address the damages after bringing it up again. Said I had to show proof of financial damage. Okay - got the proof. And all along, I never noticed pest control improving. Same annoying ants, centipedes, beetles, spiders, fleas and ticks stuck around. So at minimum, if you have these bugs, don't use these guys. Trash company, trash service
Horrible company!!!!
Horrible company, sneaky and pressure tactics to get your business. The first guy who came out to spray for pest control was very courteous, respectful, and detailed. The mosquito tech came out the following day, pulled in the driveway, walked over to the culvert, looked around, and departed. I was informed that he did a detailed mosquito fogging around the property. I literally watched the Tech on my Ring cameras do nothing! I confronted the company, and they claimed he performed the fogging. I had to laugh at them because I have video evidence. Once I stated I had video, they immediately said, "We will be right on this and have someone out there." It's been over a week, and there's been no contact.
Please be aware of this deceptive business.
Lies from the top down
Company promises free touchups/100% guarantee, rep ghosted me when I still had pests after first two "egg cycle" visits. No one came out. Reached out twice with no response. Then I found out he lied about "hassle-free cancels" if it didn't work after first 2 visits; company tried to charge full cancellation fee to my credit card even after I rescinded authorization to charge. At $200/visit poor customer service is just obnoxious.
Do not recommend: Save your time and money
I will preface by saying that I do not write reviews unless the service was outstanding or the worst ever. Unfortunately my experience with Ecoshield is the latter. I signed and cancelled a door to door sales contract within 3 days. The very next day to be exact. By law, I’m entitled to a full refund within 10 days if I cancel within 3, this called is the “cooling off period”. I had to call Ecoshield over the span of a month on 3-4 occasions to get my money back. The first call they assured me I would get a refund. 2 weeks later, I called in and was told that since I no longer had a card on file that they couldn’t issue the refund. Why was I not contacted and told this? Instead they knowingly held onto my money. I gave them my card info and then called them 1 week later for another update. Again, I was assured that the money was on its way pending supervisor approval. My most recent and hopefully last call, now 1+ month after my service, I was told that my request for refund was not “updated”? What does that mean? Apparently I had a credit sitting in my customer account, a credit I would never use at this point and again, I’m supposed to be refunded the money to my original payment type. Ecoshield is knowingly holding my money, very very fishy and unethical. I will never waste my time with them again and hope others don’t do the same.
I am a senior guy and should have known…
I am a senior guy and should have known better than to rush through a contract with a sales guy on a Segway. The terms were on a tiny iPhone. There was miscommunication regarding what I wanted treated. I was lead to believe my pest plan covered mosquitos. It was an add on for 90 dollars every 21 days. Cancellation was $250.00. I would never. Consider this company again.
Chad/Chud,….has given your company a reputation that you can’t comeback from.
This company sent a very immature & arrogant blond male between the ages of 18 & 30 to my home. My driveway is about 250 ft long, and has signs posted clearly that say no soliciting and no trespassing.
I asked him what he was doing on my property and the little snit, tells me I don’t have to be rude. I respond with, and you must think you don’t have to read.
And then goes into his very dry cold sell, by telling me he takes care of some of my neighbors and thought he stop by in spite of my signs.
He says he’s a bug service and my neighbors are getting infestations.
I say we already have a service.
He then responds,…but is it ecoshield?
I say No. And we’re not interested.
He turns around, spits on my black asphalt driveway and tells me I shouldn’t take my misery out on other people.
I tell him, his employer needs to know how their company is being represented to people during a “sales” call. He then spits every few feet down my driveway. I have security cameras and I have other platforms,….where we connect with other neighbors,…and I feel it’s my duty to share my experience with this company, to as many people as possible. Poorly vetted employees not only cost you money,…but they will cost you whatever reputation you think you’re building.
Their sales person lied.
The salesman said I would be paying $59 every time they come out, which was supposed to be 4 times a year. It turns out they charge you $59 a month, even though they only come out 4 times a year!
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, would not provide service after charging me, cancelled service same day as charging me, and would not honor any agreement for our pest needs or what they charged for. Best idea to find a different pest company this is not the company for you
Shady
A door to door sales person came to sell service for spraying for bugs. He initially offered a discounted rate of $100 because according to him our neighbor is getting sprayed too. After my husband agreed to it and scheduled a time for the service two days out, he said that we have to sign a contract for recurring service (around $70 per month). We said we only wanted a one time service but he said that we would have to sign, and that we can cancel the contract after the initial service within 3 days. I looked into the company and there are a lot of complaints about very high cancellation fees (over $200) if you miss the 3 day window. We still signed, and made it clear to the sales person that we are only paying for the initial service and will be canceling before the 3 day window closes. He said that that was okay and that they will be here to spray as scheduled in two days. On the appointment day, no one showed up. I called the company and they told me that my husband already canceled. He did not. I assume that they just didn’t want to do the service for the discounted rate without a contract or the cancellation fee. They didn’t charge anything so no harm done, but it just seems like a dishonest company with a shady business model. There are a lot of reviews online that I would recommend reading before signing with them.
DISRESPECTFUL LITTLE TWIT
A very disrespectful young man came to my home and when I told him I was not interested, he persisted. I then asked him to leave my property and he turned around and said “your neighbors were right” and then gave me the finger! This is unacceptable. I am going to put a no solicitation sign on my property. He was very rude, and if this is representative of your company, you’re probably going to go under. Is this how you train your employees???… To be rude, disrespectful, belligerent, and insulting if a customer declines your services??? What a way to operate. You sound pretty desperate!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, I have saved footage of him, doing exactly what is described above, on my RING CAMERA. If you’d like a copy, I will be happy to provide it.
Great Sales Pitch, Terrible Follow-Through
Last week, my husband and I opened a wall during some home repairs and discovered an active carpenter ant colony. Looking for a quick solution, we noticed our neighbors talking with EcoShield, and after finishing next door, the salesman came over to our house.
He confidently assured us that the problem could be handled that same day because he already had a technician just a few houses away. He specifically told us the carpenter ants would not be an issue, so we signed up for their annual pest service on the spot.
A few hours later, the technician arrived, looked at the ants, and informed us that his treatment would not work on carpenter ants and that we would need a specialist. The salesman returned twice that day, making more promises and changing the story. Same-day service became, "We'll have an inspector out Saturday and the problem will be taken care of."
Saturday came, and the inspector informed us that he doesn't perform treatments—he only evaluates the problem and schedules someone else. We were then told Monday would be the day.
On Monday, we received a call trying to schedule the actual treatment for the following week. After pushing back, we got an appointment for Wednesday instead. Then, on Tuesday, another inspector unexpectedly showed up at our door, realized we had already been seen, and left.
Wednesday came and went, and no one showed up.
At that point, we called to cancel our annual service and the two specialty treatments. We spoke with two different representatives, both of whom assured us that our account was canceled and our payment information removed. Over the next two days, however, I continued receiving calls, emails, and text messages asking me to discuss canceling my service.
In the span of a week, we were promised same-day treatment, then Saturday, then Monday, then Wednesday, and never actually received the service we signed up for. If you're looking for enthusiastic sales pitches, EcoShield has plenty of those. If you're looking for a company to actually solve your pest problem, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
Roy went above and beyond
Roy went above and beyond. This is a follow up visit for Chiggers. He even climbed up 4 rungs on a ladder so his 30" extension pole, with their magic dust to rid wasps, so he could reach the 2nd floor eve to knock it down and keep them away in the future. Did both granular then sprayed to take care of my bug bites when I mow. Great job Roy!!!
Poor results, worse cancellation process
We have a spider issue. They said that they would take care of this issue, but it looked like they were just brushing the webs away. 24 hours later, the spiders were back. I tried to cancel the service and was forwarded to an off shore contact center that kept trying to dissuade me from cancelling. They noted that I still had 3 more treatments left. I told them to cancel them all and that I removed my credit card info online. She did not care, trying to offer a discount for the remaining visits. Unproffessional, do not recommend.
Do NOT do business with the branch in…
Do NOT do business with the branch in Fredericksburg. We saw one mouse and called them. To make the sale, employee told my daughter who has a 10-month old that her baby could get Junta virus from mouse droppings and a "good parent" would sign up for a $23,000 program bc house was infested. Total bullshit and emotional blackmail of a new mother.
Very dishonest company
This company is very dishonest and will try to commit you to a ridiculous contract. Said they came out and did not! I have bugs to prove it. GO ELSEWHERE! You have been warned.
Trespass after Notice
I cancelled EcoShield in August 2025 after their door-to-door sales process misrepresented the service to pressure us into signing. Reps also used our name to access our gated neighborhood and solicit neighbors, even telling them they were "legally obligated" to disclose chemical spraying at our house on a day no service was scheduled. None of that was true.
At that time I trespassed EcoShield from my property in writing, and a company representative acknowledged the notice by email. Despite that, a rep solicited at my door on two separate days in June 2026, both captured on video, inside a gated community with posted no-soliciting signs.
When I called the Tampa office to report it, staff refused to connect me with anyone who could address the matter. This company misrepresents its sales process, ignores written trespass notices, and stonewalls customers trying to report misconduct. I would not recommend them.
Even with a no soliciting sign they…
Even with a no soliciting sign they continue to ring my doorbell and try to sell their crap on me. I am not interested. Even when I say no and start to close to the door and advise to read the sign the guy continues to try to talk to me.
