Drivalia Car rental insurance SCAM

I bought Premium car rental insurance via the booking agents however when I got to pick up the car with Divalia they said the insurance was useless and I would struggle to get any money from them if the car got damaged, and I would lose the 1200Eur deposit. They said I needed to take out their insurance for an additional 170Eur, with 250Eur deposit.
I was then expecting the rental car to be immaculate but it turned out to have damage on every panel and every wheel. Total SCAM

Thieves

Thieves. Be careful before you rent or lease any of their cars. They will always find ways to charge you. They wanted to charge thousands of pounds for a scratch that I couldn’t even see

Please return my deposit

Unfortunately I am unable to give this company 1 star but there is no option of writing a review without it without it.

My husband is still waiting for his £1500 deposit which is still outstanding. He rented a vehicle in August 2025 and two reviews later we have been informed that the deposit was stuck in the system. Via email they confirmed they will look into this. Couple of days passed and we were informed they had rectified it and released the deposit. We are now in March 2026 and we have still not received the deposit of £1500. Please do not use this company as all they do is take your money and they they don't return it. On chasing this deposit further we were informed it was released but we needed to get legal assistance to get our money back.

I smell a very big rat. Why do we need legal assistance to get our money back. If your an honest company, you should be bending over backwards to resolve this issue of a £1500 deposit. We hired a vehicle and returned it on time with no issues so why haven't we received out money. My next step is reaching out to the ombudsman and taking this further.

I just want people to avoid this company to save themselves the headache of what this company is about.

Consider before booking beware if there is an issue !,

Where do I start.!,,,
Arrived on time to collect my hire car and was told they didn’t have the car I had reserved. I pointed out the reservation said “or similar”. They then said the car they did have, had a cracked alloy and cannot be used, I did say I wanted to see the damage and was refused.
They said there was an alternative available but must pay an additional £12 per day on top of the original payment. I have since spoken to branch support, who did confirm, I should have been given a car without the additional payment.
I wasted in excess of 2 hours trying to resolve the issue and, as I had insisted will be taking this much further, they told me I have now been banned and as it was now more than an hour after collection time the reservation has been cancelled.
I had been using the company for a number of years and was even told I was a valued customer prior to this sour end.
I have never experienced such appalling customer service.
I have an open complaint ongoing and will be tacking this further with the directors of the company!!!!!!

Do not rent a car from them!!

Do not rent a car from them!!! This is the worst company in the world for car hire.
Its been 6 months now and still taking money from my credit card. And making stupid excuses.. Drivalia Uk Gatwick, do not rent a car from them!!!!! Or where ever in the world they have open up.

Drivalia in Olbia

I rented from Drivalia in Olbia from 16 Sept to 24th 2025. The check in was ok. Although I am not a fan of having to inspect my own vehicle. Car was dirty inside and had existing damages on the exterior. Agent was not helpful to inspect the car with me, too busy on the mobile phone. At check out nobody was there, left the keys in the drop box and took a video of the car. 3 hrs later they informed of damages on the car. Previous damages. That's how they operate, by adding fees and charging damage fees you didn't do. Scammers! Do not rent from this company.

Its a scam

Its a scam , be very careful , don’t book trough easyJet , never ever with this company Drivalia . No show after 1 hour they charge you 4 times the price for the same car . It is a scam , staff seem friendly but they are all in on the scam, easyJet flight was delayed , booking was also though easyJet , best to book directly without easyJet directly with another company like Sixt or Euro car to avoid big issues . Be careful people . Has to be said and reported , I will also be making a police report.

Warning

Warning: Drivalia Italy = Scam! They made us sign on a tablet without telling us they added an extra insurance we never asked for. Later, they charged us with almost €500 and refused to refund. Dishonest and abusive – avoid them!

⚠️ Attenzione: Drivalia Italia = Truffa! Ci hanno fatto firmare su un tablet senza dirci che avevano aggiunto un’assicurazione extra mai richiesta. Poi ci hanno addebitato quasi 500 € e hanno rifiutato di rimborsarci. Disonesti e abusivi – evitateli!

Hired a car in Italy and fine for the…

Hired a car in Italy and fine for the pick up where I took a video. There was nobody to check this with on pick up.
I then returned it and took another video.
I then received a damage report for €840 and they debited my card.
No damage was done
I then have 5 weeks of emails saying they needed metal data from the video and just blocking
Eventually they asked for JPG which isn’t a video format
They then accepted the video and are still delaying so it’s now nearly 7 weeks and they haven’t refunded.
Totally disreputable and a shambles of a company.
Do not use and AVOID at all costs if you want a decent organisation
So disappointed

Happy to recommend

We hired a car from Drivalia at Glasgow Airport. Pick up and drop off experience was good and also ferrying us to and from the airport terminal. Drivalia went the extra mile for me when I left my scarf behind by retrieving it and forwarding it to me promptly. Special thank you to Daniel.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company. Booked a van and after 3 days they informed me they couldn't supply.
Awful customer service telling me I had to contact another department for my refund.
AVOID.!
