It's a lovely garden centre although sometimes the plants need a bit more care especially the ones they put near the entrance. Lovely cafe, good quality food, could do with more staff at busy times or... See more

Love dobbies
Love dobbies, the children were so excited to see Santa and the whole event was well worth the price, the store has a very Christmassy feel with decorations and gifts , used my voucher for a coffee and bought a treat, 🎄🎅🎁🎄
What a waste of money
What a waste of money . We were in a total of 2 minutes ,that includes the activities with the elves and Santa .you are asked on the booking to mention 3 things for Santa to possibly mention when they meet your child , nothing was mentioned from my list 😔. The activities were extremely rushed and to be honest really embarrassingly crappy. The gift at the end was ok though but for £14 what a waste of money .this experience could be so much better .such a shame .won't be going next year
Cafe has extortionate prices
Cafe has extortionate prices. 1.55 for a Freddo! You can get a 4 pack for less than this at Tesco.
Rose labelled incorrectly
I purchased my Mum a Harkness York Minster Rose, florabunda in April from the Stockton on tees branch as a Mothers day gift, in flowering in June the colour is bright yellow and has no fragrance and it should be pale pink, after and email over 3 weeks ago and a phone call, still no contact, very poor service.
Disappointing visit.…
We visited Dobbies at Stockton on Tees today for Sunday lunch and to purchase outdoor plants/trees, having previously had good experiences here. However, came home really disappointed with no intention of returning soon. We ordered a Sunday lunch and after waiting for 30 minutes which seemed a long time for food we had already seen ready to serve, felt that it was poor value for money priced at £14.95 each. There was a generous amount of meat, nice gravy, Yorkshire pudding, but roast potatoes were pale, dry and tasteless and small stuffing ball difficult to cut. Veg was minimal and after a long wait expected better.
Afterwards we visited the outdoor garden centre but couldn’t believe how run down it looked and wondered if it was in the process of closing down. Plants were minimal and neglected and ground covered in weeds, nothing like I experienced on our previous visits. The only decent plants appear to be on show near the store front entrance. I don’t usually leave reviews, especially if negative but felt so deflated after visiting that I decided to do so.
HAD TO TAKE MY CAR INTO BMW FOR A…
HAD TO TAKE MY CAR INTO BMW FOR A RECALL ASK SOMEONE IF THERE WAS SOMEWHERE WE COULD GET SOMETHING TO EAT THEY TOLD US DOBBIES WAS JUST OVER THE ROAD AND DOG FRIENDLY WHICH WAS GOOD AS WE HAD OUR DOG WITH US. FOUND WHERE TO EAT AND WENT TO ORDER TWO BREAKFASTS FOR £15 WE BOTH DID NOT WANT BLACK PUDDING SO ASK IF MY WIFES ORDER COULD SHE HAVE A MUSHROOM WAS TOLD NO ONLY A EXTRA HASH BROWN WHICH SHE DOES NOT LIKE SO PAIDED FOR TWO MUSHROOMS FOR HER AT THE COST OF £3 10 P TEA AND COFFEE ARE ALSO EXTRA. WHEN OUR ORDER CAME UP 1 SMALL SAUSAGE 1 RASHER OF BACON HALF A SMALL TOM AND A EGG AND A SLICE OF VERY UNDER DONE TOAST . WHAT SEEMED NOT A BAD PRICE ENDED UP COSTING £24 00 WHEN I ASKED MY WIFE WHAT SHE THOUGHT OF IT SHE SAID REALLY NOT GOOD WHEN I TOLD HER HOW MUCH IT COST SHE SAID WELL WE WONT BE GOING BACK THERE WHAT A RIP OFF, OUR LOCAL GARDENING CENTER DOES A MUCH BETTER BREAKFAST TWO OF EVERYTHING INC MUSHROOMS AT NO EXTRA COST AND INC TEA OR COFFEE FOR LESS MONEY AND IS COOKED FRESH NOT DRY AND LEFT UNDER A HEAT LAMP WILL NOT BE GOING BACK , ALSO ONLY A FEW PEOPLE IN THERE SO WHY SIT IN THE DOG AREA LOOKING AT US WHEN YOU DO NOT HAVE A DOG.
Is this price right?
Went for a coffee and cake but when we got there again we noticed that the cake's had gone up again. A thin slice of roulade now over £5.00. it wasn't even an inch thick. It's absolutely shocking how these companies charge this much for a slice of cake.
Poor customer service
Poor customer service, having bought garden furniture and promised 7 days to deliver it took 14 days plus ,the communication with customer services was poor at best , wont be useing them again
I booked a Planting & Afternoon Tea
I booked a Planting & Afternoon Tea - Holiday Edition at Dobbies Garden Centre in Stockton for me and my friend. We had the most wonderful day with our plant expert, James. A very knowledgeable and extremely helpful man who helped us create a wonderful planter. As my friend and I are both keen gardeners we were keen to learn more and James certainly delivered with his expert knowledge and patience. We came away with a beautiful pot and lots of extra tips on how to look after our plants. On top of it all, the afternoon tea was amazing and the staff in the cafe really looked after us. All told we had the most wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves their garden.
Usual good service
Pleasant helpful staff

A good range of plants and excellent scones. I noticed the assistant at the till carried an elderly lady’s coffee for her - a nice touch!
Great Garden Centre
Great garden centre which we love to visit. So much variety to choose from, healthy plants and great garden accessories/gifts. Staff friendly and very helpful and a lovely cafe to end your visit
Dobbie's poor staff
Asked to buy some marshmallows which where on display for my 3 year old granddaughter who had asked for them, whilst I was holder her in my arms...I only mention this as the member of staff could see and her her request... Spending c£26 on food and drinks, I was told these where not for sale and only for hot chocolate... NOW I have to appease my 3 year old who's grandfather says no you can't have what you can clearly see... thanks a bunch Dobbies Yarm Rd. NO empathy, NO customer service NO return from us EVER... For all you fellow grandparents, don't go to Dobbies unless you have your own marshmallow in your bag.... P.S. these marshmallows are £5.99 per kilo, therefore 10 of these cost 0.0599p... Just ordered a kilo online for my next coffee shop adventure, NOT Dobbies
