Clean Tidy and Pleasant Staff
We had a nice drink and cake in a clean cafe. Not too busy. Looked around the garden centre and bought something for my pond. Would have been 5 stars but I think stock could have improved. Staff always pleasant

We went to Gloucester Dobbie’s today…
We went to Gloucester Dobbie’s today for lunch. We were greeted at 11.45 saying there was a wait of 45 minutes. We decided to stay but at 12.30 they said the chef said there would be no meals for another half an hour. We had no option but to wait really as it would take us time to find and get to somewhere else. There were a number of empty tables but no one being served anything. Lots of people didn’t stay so you lost a huge amount of business. It doesn’t encourage people to go again. It’s not the first time we’ve been disappointed. Sort out the problem Dobbies.☹️

Patio furniture
I purchased a patio table set, ‘Ava Rose 6 Seat Dining Set’ from Dobbies back in 2021. I chose it specifically because of the wood effect on the table. However the pattern has now completely peeled away leaving just a clear glass top. I emailed Dobbies to let them know and was told that due to it being over a year since purchase there’s nothing they could do. I don’t think this is acceptable as I did not expect this to happen to an outdoor table, surely they should be able to stand up to all weathers and last longer than 2 years. Especially after paying £799.99? Im very disappointed and highly recommend anyone purchasing garden furniture with patterned glass to be cautious.

No improvement
Second visit within 6 months. No improvement as to stock. Very little outdoor furniture. Nothing new in to offer. Very over priced goods and restaurant is expensive with slow service still.
No Coronation stuff in store. Not as good as it used to be unless you are OAP and get discount. Some plants look dead and yet are still being sold. No staff around to ask for help and advice as I was after a particular garden plant. Highfield Garden Centre has more to offer.
Very disappointing visit.

First time visiting
First time visiting, had a family lunch in the restaurant, exceptionally fast service, extremely nice staff and efficient staff. The food was fresh and tasty and well presented. On our experience I would highly recommend it. 👏👏👏
Called into the Waitrose restaurant…
Called into the Waitrose restaurant within Dobbies and wished I hadn’t bothered. We called for a coffee after driving from Cornwall up to the midlands. It took 30 minutes and there were only about 8 people in front of me. They had stopped doing food so they only had cakes and drinks to serve. After complaining, the manager said that the 2 serving were going as fast as they could which was laughable as they had one very slow speed. Tables and floor were messy too. Manager clearly thought he was above stepping in to help. Someone else also complained whilst I was there. Very poorly run, DONT BOTHER.

Dobbies Gloucester
Dobbies Gloucester - Again horrendous service - told lunch order wouldn't be taken till 12 o'clock (we arrived at 11.42) but the waitress would come and take our drinks order - nothing
At 12.22 I'd had enough so walked out - the staff are terrible and the service is appalling, that's twice I've been now and I will not go again - I've also put this all over my face book page as I think Dobbies should know how bad Dobbies Gloucester is

Gloucester dobbies is a welcoming store with friendly staff.
Waiting in a queue for over 40 minutes
Waiting in a queue for over 40 minutes, 4 staff members available and only 1 taking orders through the till. Staff members gossiping between themselves when over a queue of 10 people waiting. Very slow service and not at all efficient. Spoke to the manager to voice these concerns and he couldn’t admit fault with the service at all. Cafe is stated to be open until 4pm, but refused food orders at 2:45pm. Hot drink and a cake an hour later…think time management and efficiency needs looking at!! Manager didn’t offer any apologised, just used the excuse “it’s always like this” would never stop off here again.

Restaurant service ridiculously slow…
On arrival at Dobbies restaurant I was warned that orders weren't being taken for the next 10 mins. I was informed that after that tables would be attended to in order. After waiting 25 minutes while the waitress took orders from those who had arrived before us and then customers who had definitely arrived well after us I managed to speak to the single overworked waitress and ask her when she could take our order. It turned out we were not even on the list! She was then prepared to take our order but said we might wait up to an hour for food!!!! At this point we gave up and decided to get a cup of tea and cake in the cafe instead. After another wait we finally got some food! All the staff were clearly working very hard but there just aren't enough of them. Terrible wait times for everything.

Just love your whole set up
Just love your whole set up. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and absolutely brilliant that dogs are allowed in. Especially special seating area in the restaurant is fantastic for when we meet up with friends.
