After watching many of Marcel Fratscher’s online interviews, I’m deeply concerned about the economic views represented by the DIW Berlin under his leadership. If I could, I would give 0 stars. His ideas often reflect a preference for heavy state intervention, which to me resembles planned economy thinking and ignores the importance of free markets. This approach risks weakening Germany’s economic resilience and competitiveness. I expect a leading economic institute to promote sound, market-based principles — unfortunately, that seems increasingly absent here.
