Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 91 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many consumers strongly feel that the streaming platform is driven by pure corporate greed, charging exorbitant monthly subscription fees while constantly bombarding viewers with endless and repetitive commercial breaks during live sports and entertainment events. Some reviewers were not happy with the clumsy application interface, noting that searching for favorite shows, checking schedules, or navigating menus has become extremely complicated and frustrating. Furthermore, people frequently mentioned annoying technical problems, including sudden login errors, unexpected streaming dropouts, and persistent difficulties trying to manage accounts or cancel unwanted auto-renewing memberships.

Not value for money

Horrendous service. The signal is poor at best and I have 1.7gb FTTP internet and use Ethernet for connection and it still lags out or stutters. It's actually scandalous that it's called a service and you have to pay for the most basic of channels which are all just repeats of the same garbage from the last 10 years. Zero original or new programming. The enforced change to subscriptions is also just pure greed as usual so I have cancelled everything. I would rate it zero if I could but that's not an option. I only watched Eurosport but now that's bundled in with a premium sports package of which the selection is really poor at best and is no where close to being value for money. Again simply just greed.

Adverts literally every 5 minutes!

The barrage of adverts every 5 minutes now since the forced subscription change is an absolute piss take. I don't mind an advert, evenly spaced, but this is ridiculous!
Literally every 5 minutes, I've timed it. Not just 1 ad 4 or 5 at a time!

Extremely Disappointed and Angry

I've had a Discovery+ subscription for years, paying £6.99 per month for no adverts. All of a sudden my payment drops to £3.99 and I have adverts. I contact Discovery+ on chat, to be told I would now have to pay £30.99 per month because of TNT Sports, but there will be adverts on Live TV. I don't watch sport, and say the subscription is too expensive, so they offer me half price for 7 months. I DON'T WATCH SPORT! Such a foolish idea to impose this decision on loyal customers. I'll pay the £3.99 and mute the adds, and when I've finished what I'm watching, I'll cancel my subscription. Shame on Discovery+

Too Many Ads Ruin the Experience

I subscribed to Discovery+ expecting a great lineup of shows, but the number of ads is ridiculous. Even with a paid subscription, I feel like I’m constantly being interrupted. The ad breaks are frequent, repetitive, and way too long, making it frustrating to watch anything. For a service that charges a fee, the ad experience feels worse than regular cable TV. If you’re considering signing up, be prepared to spend almost as much time watching ads as actual content. Definitely not worth it!

Ripoff! Goodbye!

Seems I am one of many here, not happy with the changes made by Doscovery Plus. Have been paying £6.99 to watch cycling and some endurance car racing, only to find out that, to watch those going forward, I need for fork out £30.99!!!

I’m not sure if I should cry or laugh, but Discovery Plus: you are delusional if you think I’ll pay what you ask. I will be cancelling that pathetic basic plan you have put me on.

End of an era

Last year I was paying £4.99 p/m for EuroSport player. All live cycling with no ads.

Now WBD want me to shell out the best part of £400 per year just to watch adverts with the occasional bit of cycling thrown in !
I'm already forced to pay £170 a year for a tv licence & what with energy prices continuing to rise, food prices continuing to rise & soon council tax about to go up £240+ a year, I'm afraid WBD are delusional if they think people can afford this frankly obscene price increase, let alone for an inferior offering.

Sad that I won't be able to watch cycling any more, having watched it all my life but even if I could afford it I wouldn't pay their extortionate subscription fees out of principle.

Corporate greed destroys yet another sport. First football then F1 now cycling, athletics will be next to price fans out, it's the only sport left that hasn't.

Killing cycling coverage.

As with so many other cycling fans, I'm now forced to pay £30.99 a month rather than £6.99 a month for a package of sports (it's sport by the way, not "sports") that I have no interest in.

I will be cancelling immediately after the Tour of Lombardy and subscribing again for Omloop next year, through gritted teeth.

The coverage itself is becoming flaky too - why are there now multiple versions of the same race with slightly different run times?

All in all, a financially rapacious company wrecks coverage of another sport.

Nothing left to watch

As with other reviews, total rip off, have watched BSB and WSBK for many a year, now to be told it’s going to cost silly money to watch. Dropped Sky to switch to Discovery plus as they were getting extortionate, I was offered a reduced rate for 7 months, season runs Feb to October, so would miss the end of season races and run in to who would be crowned champions, must think I’m daft to sign up for that. I’m a pensioner, can’t afford to throw away £30.99 a month so I’ll have to resort to highlights and YouTube.
Terrestrial television here I come 🤬🤬🤬

Total rip-off price increase from…

Total rip-off price increase from £6.99/ month to £30.99/ month. Eurosport no longer and everything moved to TNT and now this is only way can watch Snooker so wont be watching much that's for sure incl many others. Sports especially minor ones will suffer. Total extortion and where's the justification and hope nobody's a sucker and pays for it so they consider changing their mind

Lost eurosport

I only started to pay for discovery+, because of the eurosport. Originally it was part of the basic package £3.99/month. Now you can't watch the eurosport any more, you can only watch TNT sport for £30.99.

Disgracfull

Same as every other single sports fan, I will not pay £31 a month from £7 a month. Never wanted the Discovery package in the first place but was forced into it after ending my Eurosport subscription. I only watch the Snooker, I complained, but they are not interested and were surprised I was cancelling my subscription. They thought I would keep paying for a service I couldn't use. They are killing the sports, not promoting them.
Disgraceful.

Absolute fraudsters

Absolute fraudsters, have ruined cycling. Changed the price to £30.99 from £6.99 per month. I have no interest in other sports, or paying that much.

343% price hike and the worst customer service

343% price hike for watching cycling. I bit the bullet and tried to upgrade. They say they won't be able to process my upgrade for 13 days. Any other online business it would be instant. The welcome email tells you that it can be changed by contacting customer service. Customer service is abysmal. A really poor bot and eventually you get a contact a human option. Still waiting for customer service to respond to emails after several days. Tried online multiple days and eventually got through to someone. They say they can't help.

Absolute daylight robbery

Absolute daylight robbery. An increase of 300% overnight to be able to watch the same channels as I was before. Sports should be shown on multiple channels to stop these price-gouging monopolies from putting them behind a greedy, unjustifiably high paywall, especially when you're only interested in one or two sports. Corporate greed at its finest. Needless to say I cancelled.

Like many people I only watch one sport…

Like many people I only watch one sport on what was Eurosport - cycling. The hike to £30.99 from £6.99 (i was on a deal at £3.99) is ludicrous. They've not understood the market and seemingly just want to maximise profits. I've been offered half-price for first few months then i'll cancel and use a VPN. Oh, and tried watching today with my new premium plan and it's not working, just going round in circles. Absoltely rubbish.
