A very competitive price & cover
After scouring many comparison & company websites to find affordable travel insurance that covered our medical needs and required destinations, I am very happy to find Direct Travel Ins. Does just that, for a competitive cost. I have given 4 stars as there is still room for improvement though. It was necessary for me to make a call before I purchased as the various country options, are a bit ambiguous, and inferred by omission that the worldwide with exceptions options didn't include our destinations. However a very helpful and patient customer advisor explained that our destinations were indeed included in that option, which put my mind at ease, and so I purchased said policy. But I do think it needs to be made clearer on the site, when navigating the policy details and what it covers that the countries listed in EU 1 & 2 bands and the seperate territories of Australia & New Zealand are actually included in the worldwide band. It might seem obvious, but if the country you wish to travel to is not referred to in the list it leaves room for doubt & misunderstanding.
The second reason I have retained a star, is that an insurance company can only be fully judged by how well it handles a claim. I hope we never need to test it, but that will be the proof of the pudding. The reviews I have read are reassuring so I am hopeful. I would on my current experience recommend this company.
