Poor hinge design – failed after 3 years
I bought a Dihl 50L white sensor bin, and after around three years the hinge broke. The hinge design is not robust — the connection points between the lid and hinge are very narrow and made entirely of plastic, which feels like a poor design choice for such a high-stress area.
Although I could replace the lid, it’s likely to fail again, so I’ve had to dispose of the entire unit, including the plastic bin body.
An expensive lesson — next time I’ll be choosing a bin with more durable, preferably metal, components.
It was the worst experience ever
It was the worst experience ever. I had to change the lid twice, and when I contacted customer service, as the second was still under warranty, they did nothing and seemed to be already preparing the answer before looking into the issue.

I had an issue with my Dihl sensor bin which was out of warranty. I emailed Dihl UK and almost immediately had a response from Nathan, Customer Services Manager, who was very efficient and helpful in resolving the problem. This is customer service at its best, thanks Nathan.

Fantastic Customer Service
I contacted customer service via their website over a problem with a bin lid that was still under warranty. Nathan responded really quickly and was able to arrange a replacement which was delivered the very next day. All he asked for was my address to confirm the warranty - easy. Inferior product
I purchased an airfryer in November 2023. After a week the touch screen started to cause problems. The faulty part was returned and a new one replaced. I am now left without an air fryer as they refuse to replace or refund because I did not send back the faulty part for the 6th time!!!! Absolutely frustrating. Will not use their service again

I purchased a Dihl sensor bin a few years ago and I had to replace the lid which was okay and it’s still working but the base of the bin has gone rusty and unsightly so I have tried to purchase a new base but cannot find one anywhere even on the Dihl site,is it possible to just replace the base please.

We recently purchased an automatic opening bin from Dihl ( SB-CRM35-RT23) and we're delighted with it. The bin is made from first rate components, we're very happy with it, it was a great choice, in fact it's the best bin we've ever bought

Dihl sensor bin
I have had my 2 dihl sensor bins (for water and recycling) for 4 years and it works well. One of my parts got lost when I was away when someone emptied my bin, but I contacted dihl customer service who were very helpful with providing a replacement for me.
If only all companies responded to…
If only all companies responded to customer issues this way, the world would be an amazing place.
Nathan in customer services was amazing, gave technical advice and when that failed to work arranged for a replacement part to be sent to me.
Highly recommend Dihl based on the product and aftersales experience.
Switch Fault
The switch failed on our bin which does seem to be a weak point in an otherwise great bin. Nathan was very helpful and sent me a new switch free of charge. Relatively simple soldering job and the lid is fully working again. Great customer service!

I needed replacement lid for my kitchen bin that is just fab.. I contacted this company where I dealt with Nathan through emails.
