Extremely Negative !!! MyCommerce Digital River
I want to warn everyone who is considering working with MyCommerce Digital River, a company based in the USA with offices in Europe, including Germany. Since the summer of 2024, serious issues have arisen, and the situation continues to deteriorate month by month.
The company fails to pay authors their earnings, which often amount to tens of thousands of euros or dollars. Personally, they owe me around €2,000 for the past six months, but they have yet to pay me a single cent. Numerous attempts to resolve this have led nowhere — only empty promises and endless delays.
As others have already mentioned in their reviews, the company forces authors to use so-called "support portals" to communicate with their staff. However, these so-called "staff members" are most likely automated bots, not real people. Their responses are meaningless, unhelpful, and provide no resolution. The entire process is intentionally dragged out for 1–2 months, during which authors are forced to pay €1,000–€1,500 for supposed "assistance."
I have worked with this company for over 15 years, but I absolutely cannot recommend them anymore. They are rapidly heading toward bankruptcy, firing many skilled employees, and their current practices are outright theft.
MyCommerce Digital River:
- Steals money from authors.
- Fails to assist customers with even the simplest issues.
- Pretends to offer support - while charging outrageous fees for useless services.
- Completely disregards their partners and contributors.
This company can no longer be trusted. If you value your money, time, and reputation, do not registerwith them or engage in any business. They are dishonest, steal money, and are driving their operations into the ground. Save yourself the frustration and stay far away from MyCommerce Digital River.
SCAM/FRAUD
I am glad I did not transfer any money to my account because it seems like DR tried to charge me even though I cancelled my subscription a month before the trial ended. Now I am blocking them forever and ever. (I used avast, now I’m uninstalling it)
Edit: I have only used a credit card; I have not even used PayPal. They are now attempting to use PayPal to charge me money. The ultimate thieves. All of them ought to be in jail.

While ONE is equally responsible to tell me this after 3 months and not tell me immediately after my credit card was charged on 13th Aug 2024, DR plainly refuses to make any refunds. I am part of a community where several dozen people have been defrauded by DR in similar way.

Failure to pay revenues
Like many others, we are not being paid what we are due. Since July they have been stringing us along and not paying us. They haven't responded to our legal demand letter either.

The custom e-commerce site that Digital River built for our company has met all our requirements, and has been stable with no interruptions or major issues in over five years.
Problems trying to cancel recurring payment
EDIT (1 March 2024): I just noticed Digital River's reply. They said: "For your speediest path to resolution, we'd recommend contacting the brand's customer support team directly." They completely missed the point! *I was trying to find the brand (company)!* I cannot contact the brand (company) if I don't know who they are. Yes, I know, I should keep track of what I'm paying for if the company uses Digital River as their payment processor. But I am one of millions of customers who don't always keep such meticulous records and who would like the payment processor (Digital River) to help us connect an automatic payment with the company and product. It seems that such help is not a priority for Digital River. [End of edit.]
ORIGINAL REVIEW
I want to cancel an automatic recurring payment. Here are the problems:
(1) On Digital River's "Find My Order" website, your first option is to enter your email address and the last four digits of the credit card you used to pay for the product. I paid via PayPal. There is no option for PayPal.
(2) The next option is to enter your Order Number and Password. I triple checked the Order Number from the email and from the invoice I received from Digital River when I purchased the digital product. I triple-checked the Password (I use a password manager, and I was able to login using the password the same day, so I know I had the correct password.)
(3) I also tried Digital River's "My Commerce solution" which is apparently the same company with a different name. It uses a similar web form, but with only one option (email and last 4 digits of credit card number). It did not work.
(4) I finally went to their "customer service" web page where I encountered one of those lovely forced-choice forms. None of the various options worked, so I had to pick a "reason" for my support request that was not actually the reason.

I downloaded a program this morning…
I downloaded a program this morning thinking it was for downloading music, as the the program charged a total of 95 dollars, but that was not what it turned out to be, I was unable to convince them to refund my money, so beware any program that displays the term Digital River, they are thieves and very deceptive. I had a printout with every necessary piece of info needed to verify my purchase, but nothing was ever good enough for them, but the Better Business Bureau come Monday, and perhaps we disgruntled victims can start a class action lawsuit to force them to give us all refunds.
