Great experience and result
From day one of my claim Rebecca was so helpful. I had never made a claim before and had lots of questions which she answered everything in a lot of detail. She was always easy to get ahold of and made me feel comfortable every step of the way.
The process was a bit more complicated than I thought and took quite a while but I never felt in the dark about progress and we had a good result with the claim.
Great service and I will go straight back if I ever run into this kind of situation again. Many thanks

Contacted them after breaking my wrist badly the company was negligent.
Digby Brown contacted me to say they couldn't take the case as there was no negligence.
I started a case myself and won it so glad I didn't give percentage to them
It looks as if they only take on big cases this allows them to pay for their fancy adverts ?

We are committed to helping as many people as we can but in Scotland, there is no automatic right to compensation. In order to succeed with any personal injury claim, we usually need to be able to prove the other party is at fault. All new cases are carefully assessed by a Partner in the firm based on the information we have at that time. In your case we felt the prospect of establishing fault was low, although we did encourage you to seek further advice.
Whilst we are sorry we were unable to take on your case, we are glad to hear that you have managed to settle your case and will feed this back to the team.

I had too many different solicitors contact me throughout my case which left me wondering who was the lead person i should be corresponding with. That's the only small issue i had, other than that, every person i dealt with was very professional and helpful. I'd definitely use Digby Brown again if needed.

I consulted Digby Brown after our family holiday was ruined by illness
I consulted Digby Brown after our family holiday in Türkiye in October 2024 was ruined by a bout of food poisoning which led to me staying a week in hospital and ruined our family holiday. I felt the lawyer assigned to my case listened to my concerns and understood my grievances and reassured me I had a case against my tour operator who denied any liability whatsoever. An appropriate expert witness was instructed and the tour operator eventually settled prior to the case going to Court for a sum which I felt reflected my adverse experience. The ‘no win no fee’ basis and the charges therefore applied were fully detailed in advance and there were no nasty surprises. Overall I was extremely satisfied with the service afforded me and the outcome.

Despite the good outcome
Despite the good outcome, I did not feel like an important case. This was particularly clear when I had meetings in a DB building that highlighted 'asbestos' cases. My knee injury at work could not compete with these. Although my solicitor explained procedures well enough, I was the one who called him for updates, not vice-versa. Information and documentation requested by the solicitor would be amended. The instance I valued his input most was when he explained accepting/refusing the first offer made. Thanks for that one.

We feel your solicitor worked hard on your behalf and pressed your case forward without any delay. While we note that you did contact your solicitor for updates on occasion, we can see regular updates were given to you on the progress of your case both by phone and in writing. We can also see that your solicitor was actively progressing matters in the background and advised on several occasions that you would be kept informed of any updates.
We proudly share our Dundee office with a charity we have supported for many years, Asbestos Action. This does not in any way impact the way we help people with their injury claims as every person who comes to us for help matters - regardless of how they became injured.
