Worst ever service in the planet. Just came back home because DB ruined my trip, cancelled train because of unexpected delays and repairs.

Horrible travelling experience - cancelled trains without prior warning and i also lost my train connection. Might have to sleep in the connecting city and hoping for a refund. Very stressful.

It is a wonder they still exist

I just wonder how a company like DB still operates? On what basis? Nothing works!
Cancelled trains without prior notice, announcements and information only in German (majoriry of the times), employees who don't speak English and cannot help you, delays, change of platforms announced a few minutes before the scheduled departure, broken trains and cancelled routes, trips that should take three hours taking an entire day...how can you possibly operate like this? And even worse how can you promote Greener choices when the car feels the safest option?

tickets you get are in no compare to the mistake you make.

In Hamburg me, my son and his girlfriend travelled one station to far with the S-bahn, which we didn't realized. So instead of 2 euro we should have paid 3. All 3 of us had a ticket. When we said we can pay the euro extra they refused. Instead they gave each of us a ticket of 60 Euro..... They even told us we probably don't have to pay as we are foreigners. Well no such thing we had to pay the 180 Euro.

My wife happened something similar in Berlin. She had a ticket but forgot to date-stap it. Again instead of letting her stamp the ticket on the next station, she also got a ticket of 60 Euro. So her tourist ticket became twice as expensive.

On lonely planet the most unfriendly cities in the world, the first 4 places are German cities. And I am sure that the behaviour and unreasonable high tickets for a smal mistake are one of the reasons for this. So my advice to people traveling to a German city. Avoid the trains if you can!!!!

Subscription/Bahncard

Whatever you do, don't enter any subscription with them. I got a Bahncard 50 for €80 and they renewed it automatically a whole month in advance without warning, FOR A RIDICULOUS €244 - even though the reason I forgot to cancel was the passing of a family member and me /permanently/ leaving the country. Their response time is extraordarily slow, and I just get a ruthless automatic message back that they refuse to still cancel this card I will /never/ use.

I have been travelling to Germany

I have been travelling to Germany, usually Berlin, for about 8 years. In the last year the quality and reliability of DB has collapsed. Almost every train between Berlin and Leipzig has experienced a problem. The journey times are now much longer; the train times are unreliable even if the train turns up. I have experienced changes before the day of travel and on the day of travel and even then the times keep changing. This morning, after finally getting to Berlin HBF 30 minutes late I abandoned DB to get me to the airport and caught a taxi at a cost of 40 Euros. This is very stressful when catching onward travel, such as a flight. Dreadful and stressful.

I understand the reputation

Horrible experience - tried to add another pause to my Deutschland Ticket and it unpaused my previous selection without my consent. I was then sent threatening emails to pay for the service I did not even use. Customer service is completely unhelpful. I can't recommend this given that most trains are delayed significantly anyway and both stations and most trains don't even have charging points for your phone in case you get stuck waiting somewhere.

Deutsch bahn - a new low!

In addition to the pathetic and zoo like train services offered for a length of time by the deutsch bahn, what is also happening now is that if one buys something from the shops inside the train stations, chances are if the customer doesnt check properly, the shops could give 10-20 cents less in return money/change. Ive experienced this a couple of times and wondered if this was a new strategy of Bahn to recover the losses theyve been having!

„Customer service” as bad as ever

„Customer service” is unbelievable. No sincerity, people are rude, and every single person is incompetent. But then, they also don’t know how to contact superiors. The customer service is as rubbish as it was 30 years ago.

A nightmare

A 40-minute trip turned put to be a 4-hour trip (from Wuppertal to Essen). The only explanation given was ’a medical emergency’ on a train. We had to wait for further info on two different stations - which never came except a promise that a replacement bus would be arranged. After a two-hour wait on a station without toilets or a chance to buy water (it was a really hot day🥵), the bus finally cane: it was packed, no airconditioning. I was glad I survived.

Total and Absolute clowns!

Total and Absolute clowns!

Are these bunch of jokers still a train company?.. these buffons should look at the condition of trains, stations, the kind of services they offer. Random train cancellations, delays, joker like staff. A shame to train companies around the world!..

My one time good experience.

From Rügen to Hamburg, everything works, on time. Much room and fast internet in the ODB Line (DB contractor).
Last section was full, but the staff managed that everyone has a seating place and the baggage is stowed wich isn't easy in the Regional Express because the stowage areas are a joke when full.

However, all other connections this month were the usual nightmare. Delays on beginning (no staff), canceled trains, trains start at other destinations, unreachable connections caused by delays and one connection was on time just because all delays canceled them self out. The staff at the last train in that night was so kind to wait 5 minutes (thank you) wich is not the norm.

They refunded a 1st class ticket by 50% without any hassle because i did it over an agency wich deducted 5€ for the service.

Avoid Deutsche Bahn at all costs and…

Avoid Deutsche Bahn at all costs and just rent a car if you can afford it. Constant travel delays and unfriendly customer service seem to be the norm here. I had issues with the Navigator app from the start ... decent, over the phone customer service to fix this was basically non existent. I have spent almost 6 hours trying to get it corrected and they just keep giving me the run around, blaming and connecting me with a different department every time. That is if you can even get them to pick up the phone. Its going to be interesting to see how much money I spent in international phone charges to get appsolutly no where, with this shitshow of a business.

Deutsche Bahn ist einfach nur Behindert !!!!
