Delray Yacht Cruises - Please Call Ahead Always!
RE: Delray Yacht Cruises Downtown Delray Beach FL
I made the mistake of calling them and reserving 2 tickets for a Friday night cruise at 5:30 PM. The woman who answered the phone was very cordial and professional. After a 2.5 hour drive to the boat's location we found the boat but no one was around. I called the DYC 561 telephone number and left a VM asking DYC what happened to the scheduled cruise? A follow-up call the next morning from DYC said the cruise was cancelled (after my reservation was made) due to an inclement weather forecast. I asked them do they routinely cancel cruises if the minimum number of passengers for a given cruise is not met? The young girl said the cruise was cancelled for passenger safety reasons. The company informed me they left a VM to inform me the 5:30 PM cruise was cancelled. I checked my phone and to the company's credit they left me a cruise cancellation VM. I missed this important VM. A word of warning with this company. Please call ahead to the company 2 or 3 times BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR HOME for a DYC cruise. Don't assume just because the company rep said a given DYC cruise will happen it will happen. That is not the case. In my instance they cancelled the cruise because the minimum number of passengers was not met. They used inclement weather forecast as an excuse. I stayed in downtown Delray Beach that night for another 5 hours - it never rained at all – perfect weather.....be careful with this company! 2 star review. Robert
