Logic, Metaphysics and Epistemology Course
A warm, friendly and approachable introduction to complex philosophical concepts, combining clear and well structured teaching with opportunities to discuss the ideas presented with passionate and thoughtful students. You'll come away with a strong enough grounding to know which ideas you want to pursue (there will be something), the tools to do so, and possibly having made a new friend.
A fantastic experience
My daughter attended the in-person Young Lawyers course and had such a wonderful time, she spoke of nothing else for days! It was the perfect introduction to law and has sparked a real enthusiasm for the subject. From initial enquiry, booking and post-course follow up, I thought it was very well organised with great customer service. She can't wait to return for another course next summer!
Physics Summer School Part 1
I really enjoyed the physics summer school because we covered everything I was interested in that we don’t learn so much about at school, and it gave me an excellent taste of what physics will be like at a-level and university. It was great to learn from tutors who are so passionate about their subject and I also loved going into smaller groups to work through things together.
Great topic
Great topic. But my daughter got quite bored with the way it was delivered. Are the teachers trained in teaching?
The moot court at the end was a very good idea.

Medicine course
I would really recommend this for students thinking about going into medicine because it is taught by university students on medical courses around the country. They can tell you about real life experiences and it can help you decide what you may want to specialise in. The tutors were great and I really enjoyed the fun activities such as suturing. I learnt a lot and enjoyed every day of the course. I am hoping there will be a further course on Medicine next year - maybe an advanced or next level course for people (potential medics) who have already done this course, focusing on new topics or providing further experience.
Criminal and Family Law Summer Course
The Criminal and Family Law course was insightful, where we dove into huge detail on what is commonly encountered in the respective areas. Whilst learning about the 'theory' and 'practical' sides of law, the small classes enabled a constant discussion where we were regularly contributing in the active environment. I would strongly recommend this to anybody considering these areas of law.
Criminal and Family Law
I recently attended the Law course focusing on Criminal and Family law, and I must say it was an enriching experience. From start to finish, this course exceeded my expectations.
The lessons were extremely interactive and engaging. The instructor was not only knowledgeable but also skilled at creating a dynamic learning environment. He encouraged active participation and discussion among us, making every class session feel like a valuable conversation rather than a lecture. This interactive approach not only kept us engaged but also encouraged critical thinking and exploration of the subject.
Overall, this course was an incredible learning experience. I highly recommend this program to anyone seeking a rich and engaging education.
Brilliant debate chamber
I had a fantastic experience with the economics debate chamber. It was super engaging and helpful to broaden the school curriculum and provide a greater insight. I would highly recommend
Great Intro to the Law & Legal Concepts
Our 13yo daughter took this course in the summer. Her feedback was "I loved this course, as an aspiring litigation lawyer I found it really useful and a great introduction to parts of law that I have never studied before. It was taught really well and was very interactive and advice on A-Levels and university courses that would benefit the path I am looking to go down. I thoroughly recommend."
Extraordinary approach to IR
Great course. The topics are exciting, the teachers are incredibly supportive, and the atmosphere is welcoming and caring. The topics we discussed and approached are very large and dense but the amount of work we carried out in one week is just fabulous and impressive. It allows us to see which concepts or subjects we prefer to then choose in the future. I would 100% recommend it.
Fascinating and Engaging
It was honestly really good. The content was challenging but very accessible and the support was great. Even over just 3 days I felt I knew the other participants quite well and enjoyed our frequent discussions in breakout rooms. Definitely recommend if you want to broaden your knowledge beyond the bounds of school syllabus.
Go for it / good tutors great courses
Go for it!
My daughter attended online criminal law for a week period and civil law as well . She also did an in person in economics last summer . I cannot thank the debate chamber enough for all the courses they do offer and the great organization that goes behind it !i do wish they go back on offering coding and computor science for my son .
Their courses are affordable and interactive. They give students a great insight into what they would like to study at university . The tutors are interesting as they are university students themselves and can advise my daughter on her future paths . the students attending were all interested in the same subject ! So lauren really enjoyed the case studies at the end that brought students all together to work on the same case .
Good course with some disadvantages
I really really loved the course. I took the Medicine in person course and I am in year 12 summer right now. I felt like a real med student/ doctor when I was learning about diagnosis, using my biology to guess symptoms but also taking patient history (roleplay) etc. Was very interactive and felt like I definitely go to learn many medical terms and values that are needed or a doctor. Sometimes questions that were asked to us were baby-ish? (eg What can you see here - it was a good question but no one was willing to answer it as it was quite obvious), but nonetheless, there were a few questions that needed us to use our current medical news knowledge to answer.
Maybe more activities involving the debating or contractive discussions would be useful for understanding pros, cons and useful for interviews.
We also got to ask the tutors (med students) questions about medicine application in general!
Felt like it was easily explained and jokes were great. But I think I would also prefer a professor explaining it so I get used to more medical terms maybe but also allow a extensive higher knowledge of research theory to be involved.
Some times we spent time going through GCSE/ As level knowledge that I already knew (I just finished year 12) but other who were younger than me didn't know? It might be better to separate the group more based on ages or spend time outside/ sheets to younger participants to avoid using the time in sessions for this.
Sometimes we finished early but time was not wasted and instead they taught us more medical knowledge that was not included in the course! This was very interesting and well done!
Still waiting on presentation slides to be sent to me via email! But there was enough time to take basic notes during the session!
In terms of cost, although the course was excellent in terms of enjoyment, education, quality and quantity, I I felt it was too expensive - maybe a few hundred pounds less would be better? However I suspect much of the money went towards using medical instruments or equipment for some of the activities!

Physics part 2
I recently attended the physics part 2 summer school and it was really great. Stretched my knowledge of physics far beyond anything I have learnt at school. The small group and friendly tutors helped the learning environment feel safe, allowing lots of really interesting discussion to take place. Couldn't recommend enough to help bridge the gap between university and A levels.
My daughter loved this course and this…
My daughter loved this course and this has reinforced her desire to pursue law as a possible career.
Young Lawyers Summer School (Online)
Having attended the Young Lawyers Summer School, through the online platform of Zoom, I could not express enough how grateful I am to have had this opportunity. Our Tutor, Jeanie, was ever so passionate and dedicated to her subject, as this was clearly conveyed through her thorough yet engaging teaching. My curiosity of this subject was satisfied, whilst simultaneously inspiring me to conduct further research into the field of Law. The PowerPoint presented, explained each key concept and the varying fields of Law both concisely but equally in a very particular manner. Accompanied with mock prosecution reports and group research activities, the course really allows you to delve into this complex subject, with great excitement. The entire atmosphere of the course felt ever so inclusive and comfortable, with a real 'have-a-go' climate. This course most definitely helped to support and boost my confidence. I highly recommend just going for it!
Excellent criminal law course
My 17 yr old son took part in the criminal and family law course and thoroughly enjoyed it. He was really engaged and keen to tell us what he had learned each day. The tutors were excellent; content perfectly tailored and the self-study was highly effective in getting him to think about what they had learned. I would highly recommend the course.
Really great course
I attended the Political Theory and Philosophy Summer School, and it was such a good experience. There were only 7 people plus the tutor, which was just enough to allow a good debate and a range of ideas, but small enough to feel like everyone was included and you could ask questions easily. The difficulty level was just right - they definitely pushed you and some bits were hard, but you could always ask the tutors and they would explain it really well. I had a different tutor each day, which I liked because it gave a good variety, and it was also just great to be able to discuss with actual professors and graduates from places like Oxford. I would definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience, really in depth
This was a really great course, with really great instructors. I did the Criminal and Family Law Online Course for 15-18 year olds, and was really impressed by the depth and with how we covered the content really openly, with a lot of room for debate. I felt pushed just the right amount, that I could contribute to the class without being judged, though also without being told I was wrong. Many thanks to all involved.
