Started as Wilson Gas in 2006, initially as a sole trader with an old Ford Escort 55 diesel and 100 business cards relayed to an old dial house phone. The vision and mission were clear. We wanted to be the premium local service company that became the household name for people living in the Merseyside Cheshire and North Wales area when their heating or hot water problems should arise. We wanted our people to think of us immediately and choose us as their best option for boiler repairs or installations. The company's name came from the founder and the secretary's children, Darren and Dylan. We started our spare box room inside our family home. The boys were on the floor, under the table, as their mum was working 7 am till 9 pm daily to earn the loyalty and trust we are renowned for. All this while Darren, the dad, was alone on the road, delivering the results and creating the relationships with our customers we still have today. From strength to strength In 2008, we decided to form DD Wilson Sole Traders with a vision that one day, the boys would be able to help Dad and keep the business with our family for centuries to come. In 2018, we formed DDwilson Gas Engineers Ltd and moved into our Big Unit in Knowsley Industrial Park, where we now take on 12 full-time staff, including a gas apprentice and admin apprentice. We're as accurate and as genuine as they come. Regulars always ask how the kids and dogs are doing, as they are forever with us. If they are not in school, they are undoubtedly in our friendly office or the van with Dad occasionally, meeting the customers and earning their pocket money. Our message is clear: we give you "No Stress and No Mess." Using quality products and premium service with aftercare from a family that does care. We provide installation service and repairs to all domestic gas appliances, mainly Central Heating and Boilers. We do loads for the local people where and when we can, and it's "Nice to be Nice". We sponsor Carla Lane Animal Rescue in Melling because we love the animals. We have given so much to our community directly from us to them when we encounter the challenges they face. Our business has stepped in to improve their lives, and we take great pride in this. "YOU KNOW THE ONE" We sponsor local football teams and often give out lots of freebies for local charities and people we find that are in need. We don't just take the money and leave. We create a personal relationship with each of our customers, which helps us grow. In 2020, we were awarded, "The 2020 SME Business Awards (Best Boiler & Heating Installation Service Northwest). The same year, we became the 5-star reviewed boiler company on Trustatrader in the Northwest. It has taken a lot of hard work and effort to ensure our customers have the same service and are giving us the correct feedback. Brilliant Team of Heating Professionals

We had a personal visit from Darren the owner who personally oversees the work to be carried out. He listened to our needs and suggested the best way to reposition a new boiler as we had an old existing back boiler. The quote was competitive and a timeline discussed to carry out the work. This was adhered to and completed successfully. The team were neat and tidy respectful of our property. The whole conversion was completed in two days with the heating working the first day and the controls finished on day two. All was explained to us and the team made sure we understood the system before leaving. Darren visited again on completion to check we were satisfied with the outcome. Throughout the office team kept us informed of everything and were a credit to the company. I would not hesitate to recommend DD Wilson to anyone who needed work undertaking in their home. Once again DD Wilson did not let me…

Once again DD Wilson did not let me down when they came and serviced my boiler. That they supplied and fitted 2 years ago. They send me a reminder to book in for my service which I am very grateful. There staff are very polite especially the engineer that serviced my boiler and do not leave any mess. Thanks DD Wilson keep up the good work.

Had a gas leak problem in my property…

Had a gas leak problem in my property on Good Friday eve as the gas supply had to be closed the tenants were without cooking facilities , heating and hot water
The prospect for Easter was bleak
Got in touch with DDWilson and Tristan turned up at the property on Friday morning to investigate and an appropriate solution was recommended
The work was completed on Saturday and Easter was saved for the tenants
Excellent professional work and highly recommended

Tried ripping me off

Came and fixed the boiler for £120 call out charge (took 2 minutes, used a bike bump and nothing else). The engineer clearly told me that there was a small component that might need replacing and if it happened again to call them back and it would be covered under the cost. Then been receiving multiple calls and emails to be chased for a part change (which was not needed) and that it would not be covered within the cost and would be an extra £250 (despite the engineer saying that it was a small piece of plastic). Would not recommend.

Price's are bad shop around

Turned up found another leak replaced flexible pipe to fix it,it didn't it was 2 short still leaked, didn't fix the leak I wanted fixing,not enough time charged £116 was there fifteen minutes,I got the quote to fix the original leak with a boiler service it was£ 850, and 4 hours job.i have had it fixed in an hour for £120.by someone who has not ripped me off

Job well done

The engineer did a great job servicing my combi boiler. They checked and serviced the important parts and made sure everything was working safely and properly. They explained what they had done in a clear, simple way. I’m very happy with the service and feel confident the boiler is running well.

Excellent service from an excellent company!

I honestly can’t recommend DD Wilson highly enough. I contacted them during a genuine emergency when the boiler at my property caught fire, and they were able to respond immediately and advise me on the best course of action.

As I live internationally, dealing with something like this could have been extremely difficult, but the whole team went above and beyond to make it work around me and my schedule. They were incredibly flexible and supportive throughout the entire process.

The communication was excellent from start to finish. Jane in the office kept in regular contact and made sure everything was organised quickly and efficiently. Darren, the owner, was also personally involved and very helpful in making sure everything was handled properly.

John, the engineer who carried out the work, was fantastic. He was professional, knowledgeable and clearly very experienced. He took the time to explain the issue, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was resolved properly. He was honestly an absolute lifesaver.

What could have been a very stressful situation was handled calmly and professionally by the whole team, which really helped put my mind at ease.

I wouldn’t hesitate to use DD Wilson again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and professional company. I’ll definitely be using Darren and John again for any future work when needed. It’s rare to find a company that combines such great technical expertise with genuinely excellent customer service.

Josh was so helpful, quick and tidy very happy new customer

Had Josh come out to cap off an old pipe and he was brilliant. He was kind and considerate helped me learn how to use my heating system. Checked everything over gave some advice on what we need to do. Highly recommended. DD Wilson as a whole are also great. Lady on the phone was so helpful and friendly. Priced the work reasonably and stuck to it. Very happy and new customer. Thank you

This company installed my boiler 5 years ago and have also completed the annual services required to maintain its warranty. All works have been completed to a high standard and all staff are both professional and friendly. Top job all round👍🏻

Able to adapt to meet clients needs

So grateful to the team at DD Wilson for the speed, kindness and efficiency they showed in dealing with my elderly, partially sighted mother when her central heating packed in. They went above and beyond to get the job done quickly for her, with attention to detail making bespoke switches to make the modern system accessible to her. Would definitely recommend.

Highly recommended- excellent communication

Darren and the team were recommended by a friend as my old boiler packed in during the recent cold weather. Within 24 hrs I’d had an initial visit, quotes for the work received the same day. Works were booked in for later that week and completed on the advised date and time. Everything that was listed on the quote was carried out, and I appreciated getting a fixed time of arrival and receiving a call when the guys were on their way. Very happy, would use again and would highly recommend. Thanks again to Darren, Jane, Mick and the Team.

Called out as radiators where coming on…

Called out as radiators where coming on and of randomly!! Had hot water all these issues were explained to several people including the gas fitter!! On the enitial call I was advised someone would get back asap no call back so rang again next day reiterated the previous call and problems with radiators and some one would be there the following day between 8am and 8pm and would ring an hour before to say they would be there so waited patiently again!! 6.30 rang just to verify if this was still the case..was assured that someone will be there ect …no txt fitter turned up at 7.30 explained everything again he went up stairs were boiler was didn’t check the radiators boiler.. which by the way is 20 years old after being litterally 15 mins he said it was the thermostat as it was old but not to worry you have caught it in time you need a new one ….we could fit and supply one for 220.00!!! Ok what do we do in the mean time??? Don’t worry he said as long as the the little box on the wall next to boiler is on you will have heating but you won’t be able to regulate the heat due to thermostat not working so just turn of by the boiler when you have heated your home paid 96.00 !! He Said he would get an invoice sent over to us with break down of call out charge ect and cost of new thermostat !!! 10 minuites later the heating went off !! did what we were instructed to do but nothing so clearly that was not the problem!!! My Husband called back next day asked what the call out charge was for as the fitter didn’t look at the radiators boiler ect and was only there for all off 15 mins to inform us it was the thermostat which he looked at for a couple of seconds the reply he got was logistics!!! I recieved an email which looked like it was send by a child lots of ums in it not professional at all . So called the lady back she tried to basically say it was our fault as we should have explained about the radiators??? Waited for her to get back as she had to listen to recording??? Then lied and said we did not mention the radiators??? After discussing this as it was not the case what have we actually been charged for ??? For her to then say we can send the fitter back out without a 2nd charge… to be honest at this point there was no trust reluctantly I agreed ..she then said he will be there the following day !!! Following day got a phone call saying he had called in sick and can’t get anyone till the next following day !!! I said ok . In the mean time still no invoice for the 96. 00!!! So rang up and asked for the invoice to be sent and a break down of the call out charge ….they sent me an invoice with 96.00 paid and nothing else so we decided to get a second option from a professional company who checked everything out and it was the diverter valve .. the fitter went through everything explaining clearly cost parts call out charge options ect after checking radiators boiler and nt a penny paid until we recieve invoice ..know I have gone on but this is not acceptable by any company money is tight for everyone at the moment and all you want is transparancey communication and the job doing with integrity without feeling you have been taking advantage of ..I would not recommend this company to anyone and if and when they read this comment I hope they reflect and take this txt on board I feel they should also refund the 96.00
