Absolute rubbish car brand

Absolute rubbish car brand. Have a Cupra just over a year old. If you have a problem there is no tech backup. Cupra customer service is a joke. Have a problem charging my hybrid and the tech helpline goes to some company that makes home chargers who just say not one of our chargers so not our problem! Dealers say 6 weeks minimum to look at it! £50k+ car and warranty backup worse than my £500 fridge. This is the second problem with the car and to be honest it's not the fact it has a problem that is so bad, it's Cupra's lack of assistance to owners.
Would never buy another Cupra no matter how good the car is. Probably get better backup from Dacia or BYD!

Simple question - no answer

At the end of a 2 year free access to the Cupra app (Kia do 7 years), I'm not paying £75 to remotely switch on the air-conditioning or heating, or to see if my car is locked.
The one feature that was useful is to link it with Octopus Energy for cheap overnight charging for my PHEV.
But a cheaper option is to install a timer switch on the garage 3 pin (it only takes c4 hours to charge). However, I started to read that such plug attachments may have to be more robust than off-the-shelf products (visions of garage going up in flames).
Amongst enquiries shot out, I asked Cupra.
What i got back was one of the most useless responses I've ever seen - off either end of the phone, 4 paragraphs of nonsense
Basically, the message said they couldn't comment, so I should ring a local Cupra dealership. How about providing a number, or how about getting them to ring me?
Cupra - I know I'm not buying your product but you are selling goodwill

Formentor

Formentor - literally the worst car I have ever driven.
Within an hour of having a brand new £45000 Formentor delivered to my house, I regretted choosing it.
Exhaust rattles against the chassis, A/C fan whines, buzzing from the dashboard, turn your steering full lock - and there's a horrible creaky belt like sound coming from under the bonnet.
Let's put some music on to cover all the rattling and vibrating - oh, what's that, more rattling from the door when the bass hits, wonderful.
And that's just the build quality.
Software is an absolute joke as well, from the ridiculous waste of time self parking, to simply trying to find out how many miles you have left in the tank.
Lane assist - another joke, unless you have your car perfectly centred in the lane, you'll be fighting the steering wheel the entire journey. Ridiculous.
Customise your driving settings, and then every time you get in the car, you have to reselect your customisation. Pathetic.
If you're thinking of buying a Cupra, either think again - or buy a pair of ear defenders.

Poor post sale service

Subject of a recall. Not the end of the world, and I accept these things happen. However their attitude and response is well below the standard I would expect of a brand centred on performance. I have to wait three months for an inspection(cupra say that's my problem, not theirs). I have to pay for the courtesy car I will require(take it up with the workshop, not cupra's problem, and no the "cupra promise" doesn't cover quality of manufacture....), if the issue is present and causes and accident in the 3 months I have to wait then that's not cupra's problem, because I made the choice to drive it. Not to worry though, cupra told me it's "probably" ok to drive, but no they won't put that in writing. No need to be concerned, I mean why would a driver of a "performance" brand vehicle want to worry about brakes. No avenue to complain other than ombudsman. Never been turned off a brand so quickly, lost all confidence in them and their status as a brand. They won't stand by their own product, won't put anything in writing, and the cupra promise they sell you on so hard is literally worthless. Now parked up until I can resolve insurance issues and had to hire a car, cause, that's right it's not Cupra's problem their manafacturing deficiencies have affected my insurance. Get it fixed, get on the right side of the finance and get this car and brand out of my life. This should be a case study on how badly to poison the customer base of a fledging "new" stand alone brand
