Beware Smart Rewards App and Coffee Deal
I signed up for the Smart Rewards app in mid-March because of the 99-cent daily coffee promotion, which a worker told me about at checkout.
When I used the app on March 21, I was charged full price. The cashier said something about the system "not registering yet," but that doesn’t make sense, because the transaction showed up in the app immediately.
It also showed multiple transactions from March 2025 in a city I didn't visit that year, so I know with absolute certainty I didn’t make these purchases. I wouldn’t trust this thing with my credit card.
Back to the coffee. They have now changed the promotion so that you have to spend an additional $3.49 on other items to get the 99-cent price.
I signed up for a specific offer that they didn’t honor, only for them to make the deal worse. Looks like I won’t be going back to Cumbies for a while.
