Liions and tigers and thieves oh my!
I had first given my daughter a cruise for christmas last year. She had a very hard time trying to find out when roll check was. Numerous emails and no reply til one day she received an email telling her to stop or she would be banned!..She only wanted an answer to a very important question. They still didnt answer but could respond with a rude reply like that. So she took it upon herself to fill out the roll form anyways, and did get a booking #...Its a good thing she did, because there never was a roll call for it.
Then I purchased first miles. Had an awful time trying to pay for them, Again, numerous unanswered emails went by til finally somebody answered on somebody elses email acct. Then I won an auction and same deal. I waited anxiously for my cruise as it was my first through cruisemiles. I started noticing all the problems but had already booked a hotel pre cruise. Then I got the news that most others got...CANCELLED. No email. no explanation. no cash refunds.. Most cruises are now not happening, inconsistencies on issues run rampid, and terms and conditions change to suit the moment. Totally unfair and worst CS I have ever seen!
asking for my cruise trip
I bought cruise voucher 3 years ago but I could not booked the cruise because they change to cruisemiles.com. I had to bought more miles for reserve Carnival Liberty cruise which will sail on 30 november 2013, balcony room. I prepared air ticket from Thailand to America for this cruise and also prepare everything for my upcomming trip.
Last 2 month I received email from cruisemiles about some problem in the company, I tried to email to cruisemiles but no answer. I fell very anxiety. When I was checked in their forrum about cruise update , I found that my cruise trip will ticket for only balcony room. So I was waiting for my trip , I always check at roll check and last week I found that they had roll check for my booking cruise. I fell very happy and did roll check. But they told me later that I was not in the passenger list. I fell very confuse and upset.
How can I do? I tried to ask them by email many times, but no response. If any one can tell me the way to contact them, please help me.
ABSOLUTE FRAUD
I've been with the company over 5 years after purchasing two vouchers on Ebay (totally over $600) the advertised cruises were valued at over 2,200GBP. I have not had one single successful cruise with them as they cancel the cruises before you can travel on them. They offered me one, one week before it was sailing, (only cos I had threated a lawsuit) but I was unable to sail at such short notice). THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCAM GOING. You don't get your money back, you get more miles as compensation. The vouchers, which we paid a lot of money for on ebay, became useless, and cruises have gone up from 30,000 miles to over 30,000,000 miles - WE HAVE ALL PAID FOR RICHARD'S NEW RESTAURANT: THE Rare Cow...

UNREPUTABLE & UNRESPONSIVE - 4 CANCELLED CRUISES
After e-mailing for over 1 month with no answers, I found out 5 days before my cruise was to leave that cruisemiles did not book a ticket for me and they cancelled my Sept.cruise. I bought 3 vouchers in 2010 (which should have bought me 3 cruises) plus sunk more money into it. This is my 4th Cancelled cruise. I have not had one cruise. They cancelled almost all sailings and are starting over. They changed terms and conditions and now want to charge a $49 fee to book with no guarantees. I am out $2500.
LAST 3 CRUISES CANCELLED
Do trust this company they will take your money and give you no cruises.I have had three cruises cancelled without notice at a loss of $3000 (£2000).PLEASE dont trust them.
HORRIBLE COMPANY
This is the response I got from Melissa, "Director of group reservations". Do you think this is professional and polite?? Do you think this is the way to treat a customer?
***As I am sure you are aware our business is in extreme financial difficulty
You were one of the lucky people who got your tickets and went on a cruise
So all people see you as is selfish in the extreme that you keep complaining about a cruise you did not like when hundreds of others would have loved to have been on it
We completed your booking and booked a room if carnival did not meet your expectations it is totally beyond our control
Now please stop wasting our time when it is much better used trying to help people with real problems
Best wishes

I do not!! I think this is the worst customer service I have ever had in my entire life. All because Cruisemiles screwed up on my cruise booking I purchased in 6/14/12 and they booked on 9/7 to sail 9/8/13. TERRIBLE!!! I only wanted a friendly response from 15 emails I sent since 8/16 on the cruise I was to be sailing on. I am going to spread the word that this is definately a reason why you are loosing money and having financial difficulty as you state, yet I was not aware of this at all. Are any other members aware of this ??? Has anyone else been spoken to this way??? WOW! shocking !! totally unacceptable. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM - you will loose your $$
More than disappointing
My husband and I planned our cruise a year and a half ago and have been looking forward to going since that time. Neither one of us has ever been on a cruise and this was going to be our honeymoon as we just got married in June. We were going to Bermuda from 10/27/13 to 11/4/13 and leaving from Hoboken, NJ. My husband's cousin found us this "deal" for only $550 for the two of us and he took care of the bidding and all that since he had an account on this site. Over the weekend we got the very disappointing news that our cruise was canceled. No explanation, no refund, nothing! My husband's cousin has been sending them emails to try to get some answers, but to no avail. We wish we would have done our research on this company before ever giving any money. It is beyond mind boggling how you cancel someone's vacation, that they paid for, without refunding the money. How does that happen and how do the get away with it? I reported this to the BBB, which of course this company is not a member (wish I knew that before giving away money)and I will be filing a complaint with the IC3 as well. This company has to be stopped, not just change their name and they start over, but stopped!! It is disappointing and heartbreaking when something you have waited for and worked for for 18 plus months is just taken from you without an explanation or an attempt at a resolution. Ethically, I do not know how the owners can live with themselves or show themselves in public to their families and friends knowing how they are ripping off and destroying the dreams of hard working people.
All's Well That Ends Well
After recent problem we did get our reservation numbers 2 weeks before sailing and had a fantastic trip.
I can fully sympathize with the problems they have faced this year when so many businesses not just in travel but every industry are disappearing faster then any David Copperfield act so kudos for battling on and getting through.
Yes we did save a lot of booking through anywhere else in fact a lot of the miles were earned through shopping on affiliate sites.
The site is probably not for everyone if you read through the terms and familiarize yourself with conditions then a smoother vacation will be rewarded!
4 Stars because there was a unusual slight level of stress included for a while!
history repeats itself
do any of you recall how "cruise voucher" met its end? this was the precursor to Cruisemiles.
people purchased vouchers that were then redeemed for cruises. they sold 3 levels of voucher: diamond, titanium, and rainbow, which normally exchanged for inside, ocean view, and balcony respectively. as time went on and "offers" became less and less available, the price of the vouchers began to fall; rainbow vouchers that had been selling for upwards of $1500 were going as low as $400 (this was in Spring of 2011). and then suddenly CruiseVoucher.com disapperared and Cruisemiles was born.
With much bluster and fanfare, this new incarnation was going to transform the cruise industry (if you were there then you know all of the promises that were made). New schemes like the "get put of jail" card were instituted; cruises were offered for 20K or 50K "miles" in order to stimulate web traffic to the site. Previously held vouchers were converted into Cruisemiles (for example, the Rainbow-the most expensive voucher-was now worth the grand total of 100,000 cruisemiles...which would get you very little, maybe 7 minutes on a deck chair. So now people are buying up "miles" instead of vouchers and the prices were quite steep and if you had a voucher in hand you needed more and more miles in order to get any value out of the previously purchased voucher.
And then in the beginning of 2013 everything starts to unravel (again) because of sick dogs, paypal, rogue agents, incompetent support, chinese hackers, solar flares, etc...communication just stops. But the sale of miles continues at a frantic pace as the prices keep falling. Then the cancellations start over the summer and everything is beginning to boil over...but wait!! Now we have exciting news of new partnerships and more cabins and all the same drivel that we heard back in 2011 when cruise voucher passed into oblivion and was reborn as cruisemiles. Just hang in there til 2014 and all will be well.
So to all of you fans of the dark lord, I must say "ENOUGH OF THE BS". Stop apologizing and defending what is an obvious pyramid/ponzi scheme. Stop aiding and abetting fraud.
And to the rest of you that, like me, have been duped...raise your voices loud and clear that this thievery must be stopped. If you haven't bought into the scam yet, you need to take the time to read through all of the comments posted on pi@@ed consumer dot com and also the cruisemiles page on FB.
Richard came thru for us
Very happy to say that today we got booking confirmation for the Carnival Miracle sailing Sept 17. Although we still have cancelled cruises this booking has elevated our hopes for the future and is proof cruisemiles and Richard are trying to sort out the problems and move forward, as oromised. Today we are very happy to report things are looking up with cruisemiles. We hope others share in our good luck.
What a huge disappointment
My brother had used Cruisemiles to book a cruise that went well. Little did any of us know that customers' past good experiences with this company would be no reflection of what was to come. Because my brother had had a great experience, many other friends and family joined Cruisemiles and spent thousands of dollars buying miles and booking cruises. As you can imagine, none of us ended up actually getting to enjoy our cruises as they were canceled. I was refunded the miles I used to book the cruise - and yes, those miles are now next to worthless. When I purchased the miles over a year ago and used them to book my cruise they cost me $550 (and I subsequently bought another $1000 in miles which were used for a 2014 cruise whose fate is unknown). Those same miles are now worth about $50 and will never get me on another cruise to replace the one I was supposed to be on in November.
So, so disappointed. For the past year I have eagerly awaited my cruise vacation. Now I'm left with nothing - I can only assume my 2014 cruise will meet the same fate as the one I was supposed to take in 2 months. Don't see how something I booked and paid for could just be "canceled" along with many, many other cruises. Where did my money go, then?
Thinking of purchasing CruiseMiles - think again!
Purchasing miles through “CruiseMiles” is a high risk gamble that you MIGHT get a cruise! There is no guarantee you will ever get the cruise. On December 26, 2010 we purchased a Cruise Voucher on E-Bay for 536.56 BP or C$800 (item 200557600117 on EBay.UK). This entitled us to a cruise for 2 with an estimated value of $3000. Cruise Voucher changed to CruiseMiles and we received “miles” in exchange for the voucher. We used those miles on January 10, 2012 to purchase a Mediterranean cruise that would sail August 11, 2013. Fast forward to June 8 2013 when our cruise suddenly showed “deleted” in our account. We sent countless E-mails to CruiseMiles Support and to their Reservations team, and even to [name] himself who is the owner. We never received responses from anyone. When we finally did get a response on July 18th, we were advised that our cabin was cancelled in October 2012 due to a shortage of cabins. We were also told that CM sent an E-mail advising us of this; there were 2 other members on this cruise who I was in contact with – one from the UK, one from Trinidad and myself from Canada – we all had our cabins cancelled and we were all told we were sent E-mails and none of us received them - sounds pretty suspicious to me. Our miles were refunded, but they’ve depreciated so badly that they’re only worth $40 today and in order to get a cruise we have to buy more miles – so we’ve lost $760 and have no cruise! Their Director of Reservations told us they would be providing us with a list of "replacement cruises", which of course we've never seen and no one has responded to my question on where that list went. On top of that, I purchased another cruise from CruiseMiles that was supposed to sail in November. This time I contacted the CruiseMiles Director of Reservations, [name], in July and she confirmed that the cruise was booked. Based on her confirmation, I proceeded to book our flights, only to find that once again the same thing happened and our cruise was cancelled a few weeks later with absolutely no explanation – just more worthless miles refunded. I see that they are pulling reviews from this TrustPilot site and reviewing them for "the facts". Everything I am saying is 100% FACT! Numerous cruises that were booked in good faith 1-2 years ago are now being cancelled. The miles that are refunded are worth less than 20% of their previous value, so it is now costing people more than the market value of the cruise to buy another one ........ and you're gambling on whether they will cancel it or not. I tried very hard to trust these people, but they have not honoured any of their commitments. I stupidly invested $5,000 in miles and, while I hate to lose this money for sure, what I hate more is to see more innocent people each day being victims of the same dishonesty.
DO NOT TRUST CRUISEMILES
Wow, I thought I had found a great thing when I came to cruisemiles.com a few years back. We booked and went on a one-week cruise and it was great!
So, we decided we'd go for another cruise to the Caribbean, which we booked well over a year ago. I then paid an additional $350+ to add our son to our room, also over a year ago. The cruise is in November, so we purchased our airline tickets from LA to Miami a few weeks back.
Today I found out that they cancelled our cruise - how can they do that when I've already booked and paid for an extra passenger?!
On top of that, they refunded the cruisemiles that it cost over a year ago, which are nearly worthless now due to the ridiculous inflation on the miles, but didn't refund my out-of-pocket cash that I had to pay for the extra passenger. So I'm out over $350 ON TOP OF MY CRUISE - STAY AWAY FROM CRUISEMILES!!!!!!
Got scammed, big time
I won an auction last year for a Seabourne cruise to Australia. It cost me about $7000. which would have been a great deal.
I received an email about one month ago from Cruisemiles, informing me that my cruise would not be happening.
Now, my cruisemiles are almost worthless. Of course, Cruisemiles doesn't respond to any complaints
great way to cruise for next to nothing
Very easy to earn miles on popular sites, top up auctions also handy.
Cruises are with major brands and no different from booking with anyone else, 4 stars as support can take a few days to answer but overall best way to cruise cheap
Cruisemiles is not Trustworthy
DO NOT TRUST Cruisemiles. I booked the NCL Breakaway June 9, 2013 sailing with CM on 1/4/2012. On or about 3/7/13, I checked in via CM's roll check process. On 3/7/13, CM sent me a confirmation email regarding my roll check and confrimed that Yes, I will be sailing.
After repeated requets for documentation regarding this sailing, 9 days prior to the June 9, 2013 sailing, CM stated that they deleted my booking since I did not do the roll check process. That is completely wrong since I did check in and CM sent me a confirmation email. CM will not respond to my emails and customer support is absolutely no help.
Cruisemiles is not Trustworthy, thus do not waste your money or time with Cruisemiles.
Rubbish customer service, but cruises are good
I have been on 2 cruises now with Cruise Miles over the past 2 years and up to now I have not been able to fault them or Cruisemiles, but this time round it has been horrendous, they will not reply to emails, and if they do, the answers are vague and unhelpful. Cruisers are still waiting for their cruise documents to be issued with less than 3 weeks to go before sailing, leaving little or no time to book reasonable flights & hotels and make other arrangements....Not sure what is going on with them but they are going down hill fast, and will definately need to get their act together if they want to win more awards this year and carry on living the dream.
Wonderful value for the money!
Just came back from my first cruise booked through Cruisemiles. I honestly saved hundreds of dollars, and could not have paid for one vacation day at a hotel with what I paid for this four night cruise.
The Norwegian Sky crew and the whole experience was fantastic.
There is good reason that Cruisemiles has won awards for best travel website business! Check it out!
