ordered 20lt creosote online via Paypal. After 2 weeks the product had not arrived, i did a check on parcel force tracking which stated "Dangerous - restricted substance". Called Parcel force to be advised that the product was held at the Coventary hub and could not be forwarded to the Isle of Man. With this information i sent Creosote Sales Limited and email stating the issue and that i needed a refund. Within one hour of sending the email i had a call from them advising it was and administrator error on their side, they were very appologetic and quickly arranged a full refund whilst on the phone. This was confirmed by paypal stating refund received. The reason for the 5 stars is to show that even though the dispatch made an error the service provided on follow up was speedy and helpful. Thank you.

I share the same opinion as many. I've been using REAL CREOSOTE for over 45 years. In my opinion this stuff is filtered engine oil with perhaps a drop of Creosote in it, if any. Has none of the proper Creosote properties and as may have said, certainly doesn't have a the distinct Creosote smell. The clue is in the price, real Creosote is close to £70 for the same quantity. If it smells like a dog its a dog!!

The creosote they supply does not have the smell, viscosity or density of creosote. It looks and smells like a mixture of old engine oil and creosote. I ask for an explanation and was referred to the manufacturer. The technical manager, who I could hear in the background, refused to speak to me. They did offer me a further 40 litres which i declined. It does dry black on wood and may be OK. Only time will tell !

I have ordered Creosote substitute from this firm and have become a reasonably regular mail order domestic customer. This dark brown oil based product is almost black when you first put it on but drys to become dark brown as expected. It lasts a long time too. I have recently had one delivery where one of the two containers ordered was the wrong colour and I can confirm that the service I received in remedying this was first class! Well done 'Creosote Sales', thank you for your product and thank you for your first class service.

Do not buy from this company, I received old engine oil, not useable as it's black as black not even creosote substitute.

Cqn only speak as I find the whole experience was fantastic. Really cannot find anything to complain about.The price was the best the delivery the best and communication top notch.

Perfect, quality wood treatment, a few days delivery delay due to covid 19, used company before never ever had any problems

Really happy with service. Not sure what everyone else is complaining about. Delivered within 3days and customer service was very helpful. The product is just amazing. The colour is perfect and I’m blown away by the coverage. 52 6’x6’ fence panel sides and only used 20litres. Anyone want to buy my spare one? Haha. Only downside is can go quite dark if used over previously treated wood. Not the products fault though

Do not trust this company they say they have sent products when they haven't, no communication by phone or email now I will have to fight to get my money back . Definitely save yourself the trouble and but at your local store.

Do not buy from this company a complete scammer. Take your money but dont deliver your products. No answer on email or no refund. BE WARNED STAY AWAY !!!!

Order 25 ltrs Creoseal - 14 days later, no delivery, no refund, no email responses, do not answer telephone, do not allow message to be left. Having to go to Visa for a refund. Should have read these reviews before ordering :( Do not touch with a bargepole!

They say 24 hour delivery more like 14 days
And after email after email they say its been despatched and then decline delivery as you want money back Then 15 days later they have no record of you even after sending invoice
Then il phone you tomorrow it never comes
Now im going to small claims court i have given them 7days notice

Terrible service and very bad communication. Ordered 25ltrs of TRADITIONAL COAL TAR CREOSOTE on the 26th March. What eventually arrived on the 11April is not traditional coal tar creosote but 25ltrs of crappy substitute called CREOSEAL, this will no doubt wash out of the wood in a year.
You've been warned, this guy sends creosote substitute 'Creoseal' and NOT what is advertised as traditional coal tar creosote on his site.

Would give this company zero stars if I could.
Placed and order on 27th March no order has arrived. They don't answer the phone or reply to emails. I emailed to ask for the order to be cancelled but no reply. So I emailed again this time they sent me a non functioning tracking number to shut me up. Luckily I have managed to get a refund through my credit card company.

Do not order from here - i have been waiting since 1/4/20 for my order. There is no reply to emails, no one answers the phone. Every now and again they change their webpage to show we have temporarily shut down to fulfill orders - who are they kidding. Today its their sister companies turn to be shut

It’s good stuff which is the reason Iv given it 2 stars (used before), but the customer service is terrible. It’s been 9 days and still no delivery (24h delivery). Also don’t answer calls or emails.

Creosote Sales Ltd acknowledged, and then failed to respond to my data Subject Access Request. The business operates a model of non-compliance with with data protection laws and therefore can not be trusted. The Director is complicit.
