ZERO STARS
ZERO STARS! Advertised as being in “Super Shape!”
After repeatedly assuring me over the phone that the vehicle was in "really good" to "great" condition, I had a "fair at best" vehicle delivered to me out of province. I could not take the time to return the vehicle out of the province at my own expense.
It was supposed to have been delivered safety-certified. It barely passed the MVI, and only after over $1800 worth of work. I had to strong-arm the owner to follow through on that to cover only $1000 of those costs - not to mention being overcharged for the delivery without any documentation.
After a mild winter, and being kept in underground parking, the vehicle is now deemed a fire hazard and no longer drivable without extensive and costly repairs.
It's crucial to get all assurances in writing, and not to believe a word anyone there says about the vehicle's condition. I had done my research, asked all the recommended questions, and had been assured that the vehicle was in “really good” to “excellent” condition and that there was no rust except for two little spots by the rear license plate. Yet, I was sold a vehicle that was heavily corroded underneath. I wasted even more money having them undercoat it to preserve its supposed great condition before delivery, which may have masked a lot of the corrosion. This cautionary tale should serve as a warning to all potential buyers.
The owner is involved in the used car association and uses this status to underscore his credibility. He's amiable on the phone, but it's a ruse to disarm you. This is shameful conduct! Please don't ignore the red flags. You will be sorry.
I contacted the dealer when the vehicle died, revealing the state of this lemon, and he just tried to sell me another vehicle. AS IF!
