As we don’t live that close to a warehouse anymore tend to use grocery online. We now don’t buy anything glass or in a tub! Have split peanut butter, marmite and honey tubs in our recent deliveries.... See more

I love a visit to Costco but not today.
Positives: Helpful staff regards getting a wheelchair and trolley for my Mum.
Should have gone in the morning, crazy busy but did get through checkout quickly.
Negative :mum decided on buying a hot pork knuckle to eat this evening. Pure salt😩😩. Please talk to whoever is in charge of the hot food counter. Blood pressure due to go up now, wasted money and have to throw it away 🫣

Bought Premium pears at £5.99. Every pear rotten. It would cost me petrol and tunnel toll charges to return so deposited in recycling bin! My savings on other purchases have been wiped out.

I am an Executive Member, and this has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had with Costco.
My brand‑new refrigerator was delivered with visible damage, and not only did customer service refuse to help, but the supervisor was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional.
Despite Costco’s “100% satisfaction guarantee,” I was left with a damaged appliance and no support.
To make matters worse, it is extremely hot right now, and I am standing in my new home with no working refrigerator and no way to keep food cold.
Costco failed to provide even the most basic level of assistance, leaving me without essential cooling in dangerous heat.
This is unacceptable for any customer — and absolutely shocking treatment for an Executive Member.

This review only relates to online services which are pretty non existent. I downgraded from executive to normal gold star and was not told this would affect my online account as I would be given a new membership number (no idea why a new number needs to be allocated anyway) so I try to reset password and try to register a new account. Failed several times and had to call customer service. Options for online queries is terrible, select 2 for issues logging on etc then have to select options one for online purchase then it goes back to the same selection of number 2 for online logging in issues then have to select 1 again (WHAT????)
Previously managed to get hold of advisers who explained email still registered to executive member number, he deleted it and said should be fine now and to register again. Email for verification code never arrived, advisor says could take a day. Waited a day, nothing. Called again and the lady adviser suggested I clear browser cache if first advisor didn't advise to. I knew it wouldn't be cache but it it anyway and still no email. She said she would send internal email for someone to get back to me. No one did.
All I want to do is order set of four tyres but I can't do that without logging in. I try to call today at 18.45 (website says online customer service opens till 8pm) so I do option 2 then option 1 then have to choose 2 again then 1 again. This time it says caller 101 is unavailable please leave a message. Who is caller 101?
I can't even get through to anyone for a formal complaint. Is this happening just because I downgraded from executive member?
Absolutely terrible and non functioning online service for anyone who happens to have changed member number through no fault of theirs. Abysmal!
If any reps actually read this reviews then please look into my issue urgently my membership is 99479908204.

Costco in Wayne, NJ is horrible. The receipt checkers were the most respectful, professional staff that I encountered. As as the elder man hired as cashier and the young woman working the protein department let’s just say microaggression on another level. The cashier made rude statements under his breath as he rung up my items that were thrillingly ignorant and racist and the woman working the meat department did not want to answer my question regarding the specific type of meat that I wanted purchase and came across cold and aggressive in her unprofessional reply. This location won’t get another dime. Consumers work too hard to keep up with the cost of expenses to be treated this way!

The public spend a huge amount of money in this establishment. Costco has the resources to have an electronic queue system. For the food section but no, instead you have the staff whispering your number. Some of the staff who work here, need some customer service skills they can be very rude. Went on Sunday the cashier a boy was very arrogant pure aggression. A simple question and he was so rude I had to ask why are you so aggressive. Costco need to give SOME staff customer service education.

Ordered a 2 thousand pound firepit table and chairs which came on time..opened up and no bolts or plates to fix any of it together. I cannot find the plates that fix the rocker chairs together to sort out myself. So far the table and chairs
have been sat in pieces on my new patio for 3 weeks. Communication is terrible I was asked 10 days ago if I would allow my address to be given over to supplier so they can send me the bolts and plates that put the items together. I emailed and phoned costco to say a resounding yes but these still haven't even been sent out. I wanted this patio set for this summer not next summer and want to return it for a refund. Do not buy from Costco they are only interested in your membership not in you as a human. Update just received half the bolts but no plates for the rocker chairs so still completely unusable. Update as of 1st June still unresolved and unusable. As of 4th June still waiting on parts.

the costco website is appauling, year after year when i try to renew online it states unable to proceed due to account expiration, this is despite still having a month left !
you cant even refer a friend online and heres the best bit, try to ring technical services and it asks did you shop in store or online !!
so yet again i have to travel down to the store and use some of my £1.50 a gallon petrol to sort out my member ship.

The company's ok. But they will not back down, once they've up sold to a higher subscription. I asked repeatedly, the only time I visited the place, to get a toilet, and they said no so many times I gave up.
Edit: I spent 20 min on the phone with Costco (it's a hard number to find, and not on their website), and they finally agreed to refund (and cancel the subscription) the amount of the exec level that I tried to cancel on July 9th of last year. You just have to say that it doesn't matter that yr getting a 2% money back bonus. (And it looks like they charged me rather than refunding me the 44 bucks. Yuck.)
Then something worse happened, I clicked on postclic, which promises to cancel something for ya, and then THEY start charging you 80 bucks a month. So now I might be in worse shape from a scam that sold me on cancellation of Costco

Ordered a personalised cake from Haydock Costco in advance. Was nowhere to be seen on arrival today at designated time. Spoke to bakery staff to be told they didn't have it and had I ordered it - when shown the email they agreed it was ordered but said they didn't have it and were currently completing the final order of the day. Luckily they found a cake to right spec and decoration and personalised it for us. Icing on box got onto my jumper putting it in trolley. No name on box so was queried then approved at till. Then ordered 2 pizzas at the food court, waited ages, order numbers after ours for pizza were called before ours, when I asked server was told it was because there was one printer and it wasn't printing them in order?? Eventually given our order of one cheese one pepperoni... to discover on opening at sons party that we had been given 2 pepperoni (one in a cheese box) much to the disappointment of his friends. Really disappointing visit today, almost ruined my sons birthday.

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding Costco’s abysmal customer service.
As a customer, I expected a reliable line of communication, yet the phone number provided by your company is completely useless. No one answers, no one stands behind the service, and it is impossible to reach a human being for assistance.
Providing a non-functional contact number is a blatant disrespect to your customers' time and trust. A corporation of Costco's size should be ashamed of such terrible service infrastructure.
I demand a prompt explanation and a valid, working method to contact a representative who can actually resolve my issues.
Sincerely,

I love Costco. Sure, it is big and American, and the queues can be long at busy times, but the quality to price ratio is generally pretty high and the customer service is good, so I find them much nicer to deal with than most companies.
They never quibble if you need to return something and they often end up substantially cheaper for branded or high quality items. For example, we bought a modular sofa for £1000 less than equivalents which has been absolutely great quality. Likewise our pergola (£900 cheaper), barbecue (£100 cheaper and better quality than competitors), several types of laminate flooring (cheaper, and with better warranty), gym equipment (£400 cheaper), many appliances (better, cheaper, with extended warranty), my glasses (£120 cheaper) and contact lenses (£80 per year cheaper). I could go on.
Their produce is also generally good quality. I particularly rate their coffee, toilet paper, dried fruit, eggs, muesli, pesto, cheese, pizza and "towers of treats" to give as christmas gifts to our employees. Some of the fresh fruit has had issues from time to time, but their returns service is good if something is damaged or goes off rapidly. Their fuel is also much cheaper than in other garages, and their tyre service has been great too. I even like their van rentals, and use them for other tasks, not just when buying oversized items.
There is a wide range of items in store and online, and it is worth checking which is the cheaper way to get large purchases (mainly in store, I find). My only feedback is the website pages load very slowly, which can be frustrating but overall I would recommend them. I've had positive experiences of the stores in Milton Keynes, Sheffield and Derby.

The quality of some items of meat has declined. Have been a member for nearly 20 years often singing praises especially about the quality of meat,
However today I have been and bought my usual…including lamb and chicken breasts. I did used to buy the frozen chicken breasts for convenience but you stopped doing the plain ones a couple of years ago , but the fresh ones were superb!
For last year I have not been able to buy the amazing lamb steaks I used to get…they have not been available but alternatives were ok and worth the money.
But today I got the tray of chicken breasts…always been a great buy…really plump and tasty and worth the little extra cost.
Of course meat has gone up in price at moment…was expecting that…but when I took them out of package….well they were so thin….looked like one of the old single portions had been sliced horizontally into 2pieces. Must admit I felt short changed.
Not cooked them yet..but not expecting much!
Sainsbury’s ones slightly better size than these.
Perhaps regretting renewing membership.
I have always loved the quality of toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, foil etc so perhaps a big shop for a stock up of household items is the way yo go. And start using local butchers or farm shops, or even Sainsbury’s or M and S for meats.
Will try once more next time I go to see if it was an unfortunate one off. Tho a friend did tell me her daughter is unhappy with cost rises and reduced quality, so maybe it’s not unusual.
Sad…as I loved my visits there…and up till today have never questioned quality.

Terrible experience. We ordered silent night bed and mattress from Costco on April 5 2026, and the wrong legs were sent , hence the delivery person could not assemble it. After several calls and continuing chasing the replacement legs were sent. It is not 12th May but the assembly person never came . Costco customer service is so poor ! Every time we call - just like a robot - they say “we will pass your message to silent night” but never work on resolution
Absolutely disappointed

Just been to Manchester store - what a joke. Queues to the back of the shop, tills not staffed but three directing the chaos. Then a second queue to get out of the place. Get a grip Costco people are paying for membership and look at your feedback. I certainly won't be renewing after 30 plus years until you do. Chaos like this is unsafe.

Visited Costco Leicester today 11/05/2026, we normally go to Coventry but just moved from Rugby to Lutterworth as my wife passed away in our house in Rugby suddenly so we decided to move, my card is up for renewal next month so I enquired at help desk about having my wife removed from my account and put my youngest daughter on in her place.
To my absolute amazement I was informed that unfortunately because it’s my daughter and not my spouse they can’t put her on, so do I have to pay for two cards? Yes it’s company policy it has to be a spouse really sorry for your loss but it’s company policy, it works that you pay for both but one card is dormant.
I actually worked for Costco at their hub in Crick in Northamptonshire but I left as I was racially abused as I’m Irish, now I’m being treated wrongly because my wife has passed.
Shame on you Costco your policies suck.

Terrible service. I ordered a neck massager only to be sent a foot massager, how can you get this wrong, took it back to store, 20 miles away to be told it can not be returned to store and the manager would call to discuss, manager called 3 days later, to confirm we can’t return to store, we have now got to call another department to arrange the return. ITS NOT OUR FAULT, and you want us to run around. Costco, you only have to look at the reviews to see how bad you’re getting. Avoid at all cost. We had a similar experience trying to sort out our American fridge freezer. We are now not renewing our membership because you have lost the customer care aspect. 😡😡😡😡😡😡
