The service was so bad
The service was so bad first of all they burnt my ham and cheese croissant so I got a new one then they forgot about my chocolate frappe so we had to wait while my friends tea got cold and my croissant and they didn’t give us the right cinnamon bun we literally asked for so yeah. I normally love Costa but make sure you hire the right people. Disappointed.

I didn't get the mango bubbles in my drink although it said the drink was avaliable. my mother paid 6 whole pounds for this drink and it's incomplete. I belive that if there's a part of a drink out of stock, make the drink univalable.

Costa Bingham unhelpful service!
Went into Costa Bingham ordered a drink scanned my Wife’s reward app then used our voucher which has £25 on it as I had used mine last time, we get each other vouchers at Christmas. We had a 20% off on the app, when Kirsty scanned our gift card I asked how much it had debited and it had took the payment at full price and had not with 20% off. Kirsty said she was sorry admitted it was her fault. I then asked her what she could do to correct the mistake and she told us as we had paid by gift card there was nothing she could do. The worst thing is my wife only asked her how much we had on the card and she took payment straight away. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager and there wasn’t anything she could do. I then asked how do I get my 20% reward and she said we would have to come in again, we came in to get our 20% off. When we use the 20% off we will never come back to Costa ever again. Thanks Costa!
Staff deliberately winding up customers
Stopped here on hottest day of the year so far. Only a few customers there, which in hindsight figures now...
So ordered large frappe. Told they only come in small or medium. Order medium. then told no medium cups. Only small available. Order that and pay. Go and wait for drink to be made. Then told flavour not available so ask for refund. Also spot there are in fact both the very small clear plastic cups and some slightly larger ones sitting on the counter at the back. Point this out to be told they are large not medium cups. They didn't look large, but may well be wrong as whatever the other size was, there was nothing else to compare, so just point out that I asked for large in the first place. Then get told the drink only comes in small or medium. Suggest that they could just put the intended medium contents in a large cup. Get told no they can't do that.
I had been friendly and polite up until this point, but noticed the staff member I was talking to was now speaking in a condescending manner and one of their colleagues was grinning. I was a little bit frustrated at this point and struggling with the heat after driving in 34 degree temperatures, so I say this is stupid, while taking care not to yell or insult them directly. Question whether there's a manager present and get fobbed off yet again and told that it's not their fault and not to swear. This, while getting no apology for selling me a drink which they should have known was out of stock and either lying about the available cup sizes or being unwilling to offer any sort of reasonable compromise.
Give up, tap to get a refund, walk off, calling them useless and go and buy slightly less enjoyable drink for half the price in one of the shops via the helpful and friendly self service self service checkout. Usually I'd be ashamed for reacting like this, but no, the staff member who served me clearly couldn't be bothered to do any more work that day and was entertaining their colleagues by acting in an overly pedantic and jobsworth manner to provoke drama for giggles.
On off chance they ever read this, worth pointing out if company policy really is so strict that serving a £5.90 medium sized drink in a large cup is some sort of sackable offence, you'd probably find it more fun trolling your employer by ignoring the policy then launching an unfair dismissal case if you get fired and potentially pocketing a decent bit of cash. But that would take having a brain cell or two, so you do you! Carry on treating random people like garbage for no reason! I am sure I was not the only one that day, given how empty the cafe was.
Worth bearing in mind though: if you're working in a service station on a hot day, you're serving people buying drinks to stay hydrated and stay awake behind the wheel. Irritability is a symptom of sunstroke, so behaving in a condescending manner is going to result in customers being pricks. While I'm sure this will continue to be hilarious to your pea brain, one day you're going to try it on someone who is more of a [not very nice person] than me, becomes violent or whatever. They're then going to head back out on the motorway, driving 70+MPH still tired and dehydrated, only now in a worse mood than they arrived. They're then potentially going to end up causing a pileup or whatever. At the very least go and wind up customers in a rubbish chain cafe where this scenario can't potentially play out.
Costa Monks Cross York
Costa Monks Cross York
I visited this store on 25/5/26. I had misjudged the weather and my 2 dogs were very hot, as was I. I asked for water for them and an iced coffee for me. Unfortunately my phone was playing up so I cancelled the iced coffee and just got water. The young woman behind the counter was really sweet about it, and a young man who worked there brought a bowl of water for the dogs. They treated me with kindness and respect and it really meant a lot.
Absolutely revolting
Absolutely revolting
Korean Chicken made with a worker who wore no gloves and was picking at it. When asked why she was not wearing gloves she said she didn’t need to. Food disgusting
Tried the guava ice drink which smelt l like cat piss Undrinkable! Unfortunately as it’s in Charing x hospital there is nowhere else to go. The hygiene is poor. The service is horrendous!!!!
Flasks cause problems
Flasks cause problems, no way to know if it's open or closed, several very damaging spills. A coffee company should know better.
Absolutely disgusting
Absolutely disgusting. Had to stop at Costa in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire whilst I waited for my wife. I had a coffee and a chicken and bacon toastie. The chicken and bacon toastie was absolutely disgusting.
If I could upload a picture I would, but it just looked like a baby had vomited between two pieces of bread. It looked vile and it smelt vile, I just drank my coffee and left. The last time I had a bad experience at Costa, was in January and that was the last time I went to them.
Nothing has improved, despite the shocking feedback that everybody leaves here. I can’t imagine Costa has long left with that kind of food and service.

Very disappointed to order a cheese and tomato toastie, to find it was tomato paste not an actual tomato. I wouldn't have ordered it had i known

Both Hadis and Khushman are super stars. We come quite regularly and they are super sweet, kind, patient. Excellent customer service.
Visited the Costa at Rochford Airport…
Visited the Costa at Rochford Airport BP Southend and left with a parking fine for overstaying by 13 minutes. The reason? I waited over 15 minutes for my order to be made.
Costa operate a tablet system at the till that allows customers to register their vehicle and extend their stay but staff made no attempt to inform me of this during my visit, despite the delay in serving me.
When I complained, Costa initially denied having any influence over the parking operator. They then admitted in writing that they previously intervened directly with the operator on customers’ behalf but have since stopped doing so as a matter of policy. Draw your own conclusions.
I provided proof of purchase, raised the service delay, and escalated to a Team Leader. Costa’s position throughout was that responsibility rests entirely with the driver. Apparently that includes responsibility for delays caused by their own staff.
I won’t be returning to this or any other Costa. Not because of the fine but because of how this was handled.

Zero stars- ordered e-gift card for friend -not received, however money taken from account straight away. The same person received multiple e-gift cards from other shops- no issues, except Costa. It's day number 3 and I still don't have e-gift card which I pay for!
What has happened to Costa toast?
Why does Costa only toast one side when you get toast. Some always toast both sides others only EVER toast one side. That’s not toast!
I love Costa but this was just a joke…
I love Costa but this was just a joke over 15 minute wait for an iced coffee staff talking laughing at making several mistakes to their customers then I got my drink and did not try it immediately as was now running late but the drink was disappointing they had used the wrong milk and not put any syrup in I had requested what a total waste of almost £5
Second visit same grime
Went to Costa Hartlepool for the second time this month and could not believe how bad it is. The tables are filthy and need a good steam clean, the spoons they give you to stir your drinks with still have remnants of food on them and are unclean and unfit for purpose. Expensive and over hyped and over rated on the food hygiene standards, it states 5 for hygiene on the door as you walk in, ignore this it is clearly out of date and not valid. I would save your money and go elsewhere.

Rude staff been spoken to like crap with a situation I had and then asked to speak to a manager but didn't get in contact with me staff are not tactful at all asking personal questions just rude Costa has always been my favorite coffee shop but now after 15+years it's time to have a change find somewhere else
Brilliant experience
All staff really goid and Natalie in particular at your Marchfield Way store in Weston-super-Mare is brilliant. Funny, charming, helpful and definately goes above and beyond to make customers feel welcome. It was not just us, she was super friendly to every customer and her colleagues. I had a tea and my friend a latte. The drinks were piping hot and flavourful.
