BS! They wont let you choose a username unless you pay for premium! BS and scam
I just canceled a Premium account. The imagery is definitely more upscale than Pinterest and doesn't have ads, but it suffers from a couple issues:
-- The algorithm favors older posts which doesn't solve one of Pinterest's biggest issues and the reason why I was trying out Cosmos in the first place. New content does not get very much exposure and you'll see the same images show up over and over in Discover mode. This means you'll completely miss trending topics.
-- When you make a new post (an Element) there is no way to add details or copyright information. From a contributor's view that means you can't protect your originals and from the user's perspective they have little other information about where the image came from.
Nice idea. Not a mature app.
1/5 images was sexualized in some way, usually kind of subtly which is almost worse. I made up the statistic, but there were a lot of them and it made me uncomfortable.
