The first person we talked with about making the switch to Consumer Cellular was friendly, listened to me and answered my questions. He was knowledgeable and supportive and made me feel welcome. I felt the problem that came up with the port would be resolved quickly. Our current carrier didn't release our phones. He thought it best to do 1 phone at a time so we would never be without service for at least one of us if something went wrong with the port. The first phone was ported within an hour. The next person I talked with talked incessantly, mostly to herself. I had to interrupt her in order to ask questions and to tell her what the previous customer service rep had done. I was not so confident that the 2nd phone would get the port made. This person made me wonder if we had made the right choice. It was the next day after noon before the 2nd phone was ported. Another customer service rep. The 3rd one was slightly better than the 2nd one. She, at least sounded knowledgeable, but took her quite some time to figure out how the port was done on their end. Finally success. It appears to me from dealing with 3 different customer service reps that there isn't a universal place for notes about the steps a previous customer service rep had taken to resolve issues. I think if the notes each one made were in a specific portion of the dialog it would make things go much smoother. My experience started out great, got lousy in the middle and ended up mediocre. Since we have been with Consumer Cellular, our service has been great. No dropped calls, no one telling us we are breaking up on their end.

A young man named Jerry at Fairmount store welcomed us and patiently walked us through each service, costs using our phone information to suggest best options for us. We were offered coffee or water and seating was comfortable. Very satisfied with customer service!

After talking to several representatives, I called back and a woman knew exactly what the problems was. Your agents need more training. Took me all day to resolve the problem. Time I didn't have!!

All with the service as far as calls and data go are great. I'm not happy about the antiquated voicemail system.

WAIT IT GOT WORSE! Consumer cellular response: request to contact : Contact made with Raphael and Rob supervisor roles who confirmed yes Consumer Cellular does not have a remedy for defective device or loss of service nor empathy for the inconvenience and heart ship of having a senior in assisted care unable to communicate with family. Pay and disconnect and be gone .
Horrible experience with home phone box led to worse yet experience with customer service. Ended up losing all money paid a defective device and the loss of my family long held home phone number. Custom service is So bad just so so bad. Do not recommend to anyone.

Just switched over from Verizon and so far all is good. Can't see that we have lost any service.

New phone for my wife. Fast shipping. Easy to set up and start using. Been a Consumer Cellular customer for almost 20 years. I wouldn't have any other carrier.

Consumer Cellular made it easy to switch and they have walked me through everything I have needed with exemplary care and concern. So far it was the best decision to finally move to CC.

The staff provided the tools to program my new phone. The information was concise & needed. My main queries were addressed to get the results I needed.

Ordering shipping and receiving it was not a problem. Setting up my new iPhone 17 was an absolute nightmare. You need to provide printed instructions on how to do it and what to expect. I still can’t figure out how to set up a touch ID to open the phone.

My Consumer Cellular agent patiently walked me through the process of enabling international dialing. I needed that feature because I have a family in Canada and another in Mexico. I am one satisfied customer.

I wanted to transfer a phone from another carrier to Consumer Cellular. I called and was immediately answered by a real person, not AI. She was able to walk me through the process and had patience with my attempts. I appreciated her knowledge and helpful attitude in getting the phone transferred.

Ordering and switching over to my Samsung S26 Ultra was smooth and complete. I was kept informed of when the delivery would occur and simply followed the on screen prompts. I did not need to call customer support for any assistance or with any issues to transition my cell phones. Thank you.

Mi experience was great, but it took me awhile to get my phone up and running, now it is just fine.

I recently made some changes to my home router, that was linked to my landline phone. I had to find another landline option. I was excited to learn that Consumer Cellular offers a base to connect your home phone to. You pay for the base initially, then a small monthly fee. I ordered and received the base within 4 days. Set up took me 5 minutes. With the help of Consumer Cellular, I transferred my home number to this base. We are up and running. The base has many options for voicemail, call blocking. Etc. I’m excited to give this a try!
