Easy transaction: new iphone 17e. Really don’t care for replacing a phone that still works, but that’s because I’m old enough to remember when phone companies provided hardware that worked FOREVER. It... See more

I am Brenda,
Consumer Cellular is great. We have great service and our bill is $90 a month cheaper than AT&T. My problem ìs with the commercial. They advertise that the 2nd month is free which is not totally correct. They still make you pay taxes on that month. They need this in their commercial so people understand that it is not totally free.

The first call was to inquire about prices, etc, on switching from my current carrier to Consumer Cellular. I was extremely pleased with the gal I spoke with, she was very helpful! And the cost is half of what I did have. The second call was to set our phones up with the new SIM cards. The guy I talked to was very helpful as well. Only had this service a few days, but I seem to have more bars than before. Oh and I also got our second month free. So, so far, so good.

I recently ordered a iPhone 17 pro max. Got the new phone in the mail only to find that I was sent an old school flip phone! I contacted customer service only to be told that they would need to receive the old phone first before they would even ship my new phone out. I was also told that the shipping label needed to send old phone back couldn’t be sent via email and had to be sent via mail!! This would put me at likely almost 2 weeks before I would receive my new phone! Absolutely absurd! At end of call, I told they would put in a ‘request’ to have my correct new phone sent out at same time as shipping label so I could receive it prior to incorrect phone being received however there was no guarantee! Nothing was offered to me whatsoever as a courtesy or ‘apology’ for the mess up! Meanwhile, current phone on the Fritz. They don’t seem to care! It’s not my fault they sent me the wrong phone! They should do whatever necessary to get a customer the correct product ordered ASAP! A $1200 phone at that!! Not a happy customer!!!

I signed up with them new number, then brought a number over to a completely unlocked phone by eSIM where after activated wasn’t working then started working after I changed the APN but wouldn’t consistently work. Customer service rep tried to blame the phone but wasn’t the phone so then since it was working some I went on to bring another number over this time wouldn’t activate so when I called that’s when I was told I owe a $300 bill. My 3rd number was partially added just not activated. I then told them you saying I owe a bill? You 3 phone numbers too late but this was also after I placed an order for a cheap device and paid for it an hour later order was cancelled by them, at that point is when I was told I owe a bill that needs to be paid before my 3rd line can be activated. I took my 2 numbers and reversed the porting back to where it originated. I don’t owe no bill I not only don’t owe a bill but I had purchased an iPhone from them and it was fully paid for. I am going to conclude this review with saying that this company doesn’t care enough about a customer to retain their business.

The Consumer Cellular website is very user friendly. I was able to search for specific phone by brand name. Easy to compare phones.
My phone arrived in excellent condition on the expected delivery date. Tracking for my phone was provided.
After my phone arrived, the easy to use instructions were helpful to start using my phone. User instructions are searchable on the Consumer Cellular website.
Prices are cheaper on Consumer Cellular than everywhere else I searched.

I have been a consumer cellular customer for 10 years and I would never change. They have helped me more than I could reasonably expect. Consumer Cellular is us-based and they speak perfect English which is wonderful if you are like me with poor hearing. Their staff is very knowledgeable even beyond routine service setup. I like going into their store for their warm welcome. The customers concern is their first concern. They quickly resolve problems at no extra cost. I can't thank consumer Cellular enough. Clarke

Switched on my own online which was very easy. The only issue was that I ended up with two eSIM’s. When I tried to call out on my cell or in to my cell, it wouldn’t work. I then figured out that I had to deactivate my old eSIM. Once I did that everything worked perfectly.

At first, switching from Verizon to Consumer Cellular was a bit rough going. They'd accidentally mixed up my & my husband's phone numbers/devices. When I'd called to get it straightened out, I got Jean who was immensely helpful, took the time & got everything right. Even though it was after hours by the time we got done, Jean went slow, made sure everything was correct, connected to their network, and working. I work in Customer Service as well, and strive to give the great service I got from Jean to my customers. I wasn't kidding, Jean - when your next performance review comes up, be sure to have your boss contact me!!! You definitely should be honored for your work and deserve a raise!!!

My main complaint is with your online chat. I needed help transferring from my android to iPhone and while they were trying to help, my session “timed out” 3 times which means I had to talk to 3 different people and go back over the same issue again and again and we got NO where. So needless to say, nothing was transferred to my iPhone.

Move over from ATT and was surprised at the level of support provided. ATT was not very helpful with things that had to happen to allow me to transfer service. Kept trying to sell, sell, sell. CC agents walked me through the process and made sure I had resolved everything prior to leaving the store. They even worked past closing to get things completed. KUDOS to th team!

Very knowledgeable and helpful customer service, as usual. New phone set up and running with no problems.

Wanted to switch back after my trial contract ended with another company, but you have to call from a completely different phone line for that, which I don't have access to. I wasn't given any other options, and the customer service agent was almost argumentative! Disappointing....

I have been with Consumer Cellular for quite a few years and I am still surprised by the level of their customer service and support. Their cellular service is great, their plans are simple with no convoluted terms. If you have to call, you talk to a real person who speaks English without an accent. I switched to another cellular service a few years ago for what I thought was a great deal. In a matter of weeks I was back with Consumer Cellular. It just doesn’t get any better.

Even though I had to have two different people work on my changing carriers, it was my previous carrier who was the problem. One of the CC people did what they could, but the other carrier dropped the ball. The next day a different CC person was able to escalate to a supervisor (of the other carrier) to finish the change in carriers.
