The process of obtaining Constructionline Gold can be long and difficult.
A mistake can set you back 10 days+, however they do offer (with one exception) brilliant customer care and helped me along the way (again, with one exception).
I think occupying such a large chunk of the market means they are constantly inundated with updates which does more often than not lead to their staff being overwhelmed.
A big shout out goes to Neil, the Sales Exc, who is by all accounts a good guy and is fast to get back. Lord knows he put up with me and never failed to help.
The negative reviews on this site do have merit, however it is very easy to overlook the scale and scope which this company is dealing with on a constant basis.

If i could give a zero i would!
Assessors failing modules even though evidence has been provided, for example CL requested risk assessments, when a RA had been provided or evidence of this being communicated - the email evidence of this being distributed had been provided as evidence!!
Takes more than 10 working days to assess (usually 12 working days)
We paid an extortionate amount in January and we still havent been cleared as they take so long to assess. I have made multiple complaints to say the assessment is incorrect and the evidence has been provided, each time a different person on the online chat advises that this will be escalated but it never is. And to add insult the online chat only starts at 10:00? and then you are usually 29 in the que!

A 2 way informative session and the demo's were short with good tips for future use.
Now able to work on agreed plan to maximise the use of the platform and our membership

Constantly chaging requirements without any communication and a very long review process sometimes around 10 days. Activly tell my clients to avoid and gotot CHAS or SMAS due to the nitpicking and constant fluctuations to everything. Easily the worst SSIP company to have to deal with.

I had an extremely useful experience with Syed our ConstructionLine / OnceForAll account manager. He was able to provide great insights into the operation of the portal and how best to optimise the best chance of winning new work.

Despite constant complaints they do not address the issues raised. We have had questions approved that they have decided later are not approved, inconsistent with decision making , poor service with no accountability. AVOID THEM
Update following the response from the Complaints team. I have contacted you multiple times and agreed a meeting but you didn't turn up at the agreed time. If I could I would remove the 1 start

Participated in a business review with Zsofia Forro on Monday the 23rd and found it very informative. Will be using the platform moving forward and feel very confident after she explained it all to us.

Our onboarding experience with Constructionline has been fantastic, and we’re thrilled to have achieved the Silver award. Frankie Young was incredibly helpful throughout the process, guiding us every step of the way and ensuring we met all the requirements with ease. We couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience!

Had a Teams meeting with Farheen Irfan and I can’t thank her enough for taking the time to clearly and patiently explain everything I needed to know to help us make the best use of our account. I wish more businesses had such a supportive and knowledgeable Customer Success Manager as Farheen. Many thanks.

God damn awful platform. membership is dictated by clients who then use it as an excuse not to pay when your status falls below the required level (bronze, Silver or Gold). The platform is a nightmare with approx. 36 question sets, each having its own huge number of questions within those. Questions repeat themselves multiple times. Assessors do not look at the answers and the document uploads properly enabling them to reject a question set and then they take 11 days to revisit any submissions. They do not also put perspective and logic on the answers relating to the individual client size and industry sector etc. The cost is extortionate and the service zero. If anything could tip you over the edge it is this 'so called' accreditation. why is it not governed?

Zsofia was knowledgeable and quickly provided a guided tour of the sales and enquiries management aspects of the system.

Jackson was very professional in responding to my question

Our company has used Constructionline as part of pre-qualification and compliance requirements, and while the intention behind the platform is understandable, the practical experience of maintaining accreditation has been unnecessarily time-consuming and often frustrating.
The primary issue is the repeated back-and-forth process relating to document uploads and minor administrative details. In many cases, information that is already clearly available within previously submitted documents is requested again in slightly different formats or rejected for technicalities that do not materially affect compliance. This leads to significant time being spent re-uploading, reformatting, or re-explaining information that has already been provided in full.
The system does not appear to make effective use of the data already submitted by the applicant. Instead, the burden is placed on the client to repeatedly interpret and respond to requests for clarification that could reasonably be resolved by reviewing the documents already held on file.
In addition, feedback and rejections often appear to be based on rigid interpretation of templates rather than an understanding of how health & safety, quality, or compliance systems operate in real businesses. This can give the impression that submissions are being assessed against form rather than substance, and at times by individuals who may not have the practical industry experience to recognise when a submission is already fully compliant.
The result is a process that feels administrative rather than supportive, and which consumes far more time than should reasonably be required for competent, compliant businesses to demonstrate their standards.
A more effective approach would be:
Greater reliance on previously submitted information
Reduced focus on formatting and minor wording issues
Assessors applying practical judgement rather than template-based rejection
A streamlined system that respects the time of compliant contractors
Constructionline has the potential to be a valuable compliance gateway, but the current process would benefit greatly from a more practical, proportionate, and user-focused approach.
And typical of Constructionline they ask you to contact them to discuss, you email the address they posted on the review and it bounces back every time..........absoulutely unbelievable

Portal confusing to say the least and then they want 2 weeks to assess the submission. Cornered market so they do what they like

While i realise that the accreditation takes 10 days to go through. That should be initially, to appoint an assessor. If they reject anything it is another 10 days for them to check it and pass. The whole system needs looking at. Other SSIP accreditations are quicker and more user friendly. Unless you need it, dont get it. Get another SSIp instead

Painful in everyway for SMEs, Over priced for SMEs,
Hopefully Ai start-ups will challenge its longstanding dominance in the market and local government procurement agencies will open their eyes
