Very disappointed with Comptoir des Cotonniers customer service. I bought a pair of corduroy trousers at the Le Marais store in Paris and carefully followed the washing instructions given in store. After the first wash, the fabric became visibly damaged and worn.
Despite explaining the situation and providing evidence, the company refused to offer any refund, exchange, or store credit.
This level of customer care is unacceptable and far below what I expected from a brand that claims to stand for quality. I would not recommend this brand based on my experience.
Refunds: CHECK! do not buy whilst on holiday.
I purchased a pair of cream cords from them in Madrid whilst on a weekend break. The shop staff were lovely. I was deciding between a 36 and 38 and I am so pleased I went with the 36 because after one wear they stretch and look absolutely awful. The quality is awful. Going from smart to scruffy within a short amount of time. They look awful. The company offered a refund but I HAVE TO GO TO EITHER MADRID OR BARCELONA. LOL This will cost me at least 15 times the cost of the trousers. They have online, so I do not understand why I cannot send them back. So they give on one hand but take on the other. So, 100€ totally wasted.

Misrepresented delivery, refusal to refund, unacceptable customer service
My order (W0073214643) was never delivered to my home address. Instead, it was sent to a DPD pickup point in an industrial area outside the city, which I did not choose and cannot reasonably access. No delivery attempt was made at my address.
Despite providing clear DPD tracking evidence showing delivery to a pickup point, customer service repeatedly claimed the parcel was “delivered,” relying on a Colissimo attestation that itself confirms delivery to a pickup location, not my home.
After months of delays, contradictory explanations, and multiple contacts, the only solution offered was a gift card instead of a refund, even though I never received the goods and explicitly requested my money back. I was told that a refund was not possible.
This handling is frustrating and unprofessional. Offering store credit for a failed delivery — especially when the customer did nothing wrong — is not an acceptable solution.
I expected much better from a well-known brand. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise against ordering online.
Returning articles cost me 20€
I purchased two trench coats during the sales, but since they didn’t fit, I decided to return them. On my account page, it stated that the return would cost €2.95, but I was unable to generate a return label. I contacted customer service, and they informed me that, because I live in Luxembourg, I had to return the items at my own expense. I explained that this was not mentioned anywhere on the website and that the information provided was misleading. However, they dismissed my concern and simply told me to check the Q&A section next time. This is unacceptable—I ended up having to pay €20 to return my parcel.

i just bought a T-shirt, and a blouse for the price of 34euro, and 64 euro (i don't care the price if the quality is good).
I didn't pay attention while shopping, both are made in china i think you could have manufactured it in europe for the same price but ok i guess.
the stiches were ok on both garnements but kinda cheap, composition for the blouse is just bad 100% viscose. construction, loose thread.
It's just impossible to find quality clothing theses days.

I have had the worst returns experience of my life with comptoir des cottoniers. I have been processing a refund due to a damaged sweater with them since the beginning of December and they have STILL not returned the funds.
I bought a jumper in their store in France for €150, when I got home to Barcelona I discovered it had a hole in the sleeve. This was the first of many issues.
Firstly I went to the store in Barcelona and was told they could not help at all because I bought it in France and to contact CS.
Next, it was IMPOSIBLE TO CONTACT CS. I rang multiple times, always being left on hold for >15 mins or them cancelling my call. I sent multiple emails and NEVER HEARD BACK. Finally after a week and being on hold for an ENTIRE HOUR I got through to someone.
Despite reaching someone they did not have a process for handling such a case as I could not return to France. They told me they would be in contact in 1-2 weeks! I was travelling and needed the jumper so this was FAR TOO LONG.
I kept ringing and finally they said they would process me a refund. I was sent a generic return form to post my purchase back.
I was so fed up by now and did not want more issues I sent both jumpers back on the 12th December. I wanted nothing more to do with them.
OVer a month has gone by, they have confirmed they received the goods but they will not process my refund, even for the damaged jumper.
Every time I write to them they IGNORE MY EMAILS. Sometimes for over a week until I ring and complain and then they reply. I am so fed up now I want to see if there is a way to report them to an official watch dog. They have the products AND my money now, which I'm pretty sure is illegal.
If Comptoir reads thus -> PLEASE FINALISE MY RETURN even if you send back the other jumper and improve your TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Bought a gift card for 130 euros for my sister. She used it all online but Comptoir des Cotonniers never delivered the package. It was lost under transport. They acknowledge it is gone but all communications have since stopped. We have tried multiple emails and they completely ignore us - it has been several weeks now since they lost the package. Most likely, we will never get a refund unless we take legal action. I did not think such a large company would be stealing from its customers - dissapointing. ZERO stars!
Possibly the worst online shop?
Terrible terrible terrible user experience with the website.
Setting aside the fact that the website takes forever to load any page (which is simply unacceptable for any e-commerce website, but especially for a premium brand), the website completely froze in the payment verification process, resulting in funds being taken from my bank account, but at the same time my shopping cart still being full and no order actually placed.
I strongly advise to never shop with them online, as such an experience is simply unthinkable in 2024.
Wrong size!
On the website I ordered correct size since I am a CdC customer and I know which size I have to order, but they sent French size which is larger than my one. They say they are right and I have to pay for return costs. It is unacceptable!

It's been more than one month and my order (to Germany) hasn't arrived yet. The answer to my email is that they could not track the order and had no idea where the package is, and they asked me to call them under a phone number (09 69 39 29 22 without any country code) that is not even accessible. Still no solution is provided.
Update: after 45 days, I still haven't received the order. They kept saying the investigation is ongoing and refused to refund!
Update: After 2 months and 6 days, I finally received the order.

No pay back of return
I returned my order. It has been 4 months already. DHL says it is delivered and send me a signature from delivery scan. However they say package is not received. 250€ is lost.
Very good experience
I have used both the web and normal shops of them many times and i have always had a very good experience. Most of the things are made of natural materials, pretty a lot of the pieces are made in EU. Quality 10. I have some things that i have really had for a long time now. Nothing changed colour or lost the original shape (within normal tear and wear). The sizes are a bit bigger than normally in mass market shops but they are like this in all the CDC collections so I know what to expect. I have never had to return anything or complain. Absolutely recommendable.
The worst service EVER
The worst service EVER. I did an order 16th January 2023. The parcel did not arrive and I contact them. After several phone calls and e-mails they told me that SEUR returned the parcel to France because the address was wrong. The coordination between Comptoir de Cotonniers, Colissimo and SEUR is awful. I gave the right address but I guess it get wrong when transmitted from CDC to SEUR. Then again some calls and some e-mails and the parcel was sent a second time. And two months after the order date, today they have told me that the parcel was sent back again to France and that someone will call me at the end of next week to see what happened. It is by far the worst experience I have ever had purchasing on-line.
